Wow. Taking another look at the hit he took after his slide. I can't figure out why the refs would allow a defense to hit a player like this after a slide. It could have definitely been avoided.

At the speed the defender was going, by the time Elam was on the ground he couldn't have stopped himself in midair and not fell where he was heading for. Didn't look intentional at all.

Aren't QB's the only guys who you can't hit when sliding, anyway? Didn't know that rule applied to other offensive positions.

Yeah it looks like he landed on his calf below his knee and just rolled off of him, I don't even think Elam's right leg touched the ground looks like his legs just came together. He hurt his left leg anyway.

Elam is pretty fragile, a 5 yard run and he pulls his hammy without being touched. I know he's a kicker but sheesh!

I don't see anything wrong with how he was tackled. Elam went down and the defender tagged him to end the play. The defender was hustling over there, tagged Elam down, then rolled away the best he could. In retrospect it was a surpisingly merciful tackle. Elam really could have been nailed on that play.
