How many points are we going to average with Jay at QB?
a) 30
b) 35
c) 40
d) 45
I'm leaning towards choice D myself.
No more three and outs. No more interceptions. No more stalled drives. I'm excited.
Against Seattle, Jay should have ATLEAST 350 yards passing and 4 tds. ATLEAST!! Jay will hit all the passes that Jake missed down the field. That's atleast a 120 yards and 2 tds right there! With Jay's amazing vision and cannon arm, teams now have to respect the passing game and our run games opens up. I don't think we can be stopped, honestly.
Thank God for Jay Cutlers. All of our offensive problems have vanished into thin air -- POOOOFF!!!
Supa Bowl here we come baby!

Gonzo, you'd have to contribute something here for me to stalk your threads. As it stands, I probably scroll past 95% of your posts since they don't add anything to the board. You starting a poll earlier this week asking the same thing you did in this thread is a perfect example of that. You troll to start arguments for the sake of arguing, and despite what you think, you're not very good at it.

HA! If you think people are going to take a 17-7 loss lightly because Jay Cutler is at the helm, you are sadly mistaken. We are a 7-4 football team playing for the playoffs, not a 2-9 squad.
My choice goes to the offensive line. They will be the first thrown under the bus in case we struggle.

There should be a poll... it should read, who is a more valuable poster? (Gonzolays) or (BOOB)
I'm betting it would be very close with Boob taking it in the end b/c we actually expect BULLSHIAT from a rival fan as opposed to a "fellow" fan.

Oh, Oskie, you are not the sharpest tool in the shed. The whole point of thread was temper expectations on what Cutler should accomplish. If you have been reading the board, Cutler can do no wrong. He can complete every deep pass that Plummer missed; he can read the field and make the right decisions; he can cure cancer. If everybody is right, then we should score ATLEAST 35 pts a game.
And my goodness, you people get so sensitive about Cutler. Chill the **** out.

Then why switch?
because even if he struggles, most feel it will still produce better results than if Jake was struggling, which he was.
I think Jay can take the offense onto the field for the first play of the game and go 3 and out.. or even 2 and pick.
I think Jay could throw a wobbly diving duck right at Patrick Surtain and get lucky that Lenny Walls was on the field.
I think Jay can scramble away from a pass rush only to throw it at someones feet.
On a more serious note... this is going to be a strange weekend for us against Seattle. We're going to be used to seeing Jake's passes and all of a sudden bullets will be flying. I know he's going to overthrow some people.. all the strong armed qb's do it. Favre is the master of the overthrow. Look for it. But he's going to squeeze balls into places that you won't even be able to see light through. Those out patterns and crossing patterns are going to be deadly. It's going to take some time for him to get in sync. with Javon but it was Jake's first year with him too.
Look for lots of easy passes like the screen they kept throwing to Rod and Javon against KC.
I can't wait, my choice is D, 45 points per game 8')

Yeeesssss. Our problems are solved. Our D line will now be able to apply some pressure. Our Defense will now longer be shredded by a quality back, and they will also be able to pressure the QB. Our special teams will also stop giving the opposing team the ball near midfield. God bless you Cutler...

Cutler has a hard road ahead of him. If you think that Cutler is going to come in and make this team a Super Bowl contender, you are dreaming. Here are a few reasons why the Broncos (even at 7-4) are a big disappointment this season.
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
Offensive Line - The O-Line is mediocre at run blocking and below average on passing downs.
Running Back - The Broncos do not have a RB that can pound the ball up the middle and punish opposing defenses.
Defensive Line - The pass rush has been inconsistent for the most part, and non-existent in a few games.
Special Teams - Where is the Pro Bowl punter….Oh yeah, we cut him in September. The return team has been pitiful and the coverage team has been even worse.
Defensive Scheme - Our defense is too predictable. The secondary can be diced up by any of the league’s quality QBs.
Quarterback - Plummer has given up….he knew that his time was limited when the Broncos drafted Jay Cutler.
The Broncos will probably make the playoffs as a wildcard, but don’t expect them to win a playoff game this season. Just my opinion.

Honestly, if we had any kind of run attack generating on a consistant basis, I wouldnt even be sweating the switch. But now, you can expect to see a hell of a lot of 7 man and cornerback blitzes for the next few weeks without a doubt.
I'm just hoping the kid can go out and not get crushed.

Honestly, i dont think that will happen. Teams have been stacking the line lately because we struggle at even completing 10 yds passes or on 3rd down. All its going to take is Jay to get a few first downs and change field position to open up the run game again and help rest the defense.

Every time I think you can't outdo yourself you prove me wrong. Your starting point is 30 points then on up?
We will be happy just improve on the pathetic 17 points per game under jake. It's just an idiotic, sarcastic wasted of cyber ink. We will be happy for 21 per game. Estatic actually, because that's a starting point.
We scored 19 points in two games against K.C. How we managed to win one of them astounds me. I think Champ had two TD saving picks inside the 5.
Your just a vindictive apologist moron at this point. Get back in the woodwork worm. Lot's of us saw this coming. Being in denial, now acting like a jitled woman isn't going to make you appear much smarter.
We didn't make the call...we called for the call, but that isn't the point. Now your making posts that Jay should put up a minimum of 30 points? You realize that's basically twice what we have been putting up? STFU.
It's a cynical, idiotic post that even surprised me. How many TEAMS average 30 PPG moron.
One team in the NFL averages more than 30 points. ONE.

Cutler is ON the roster. Do you suggest we re-sign Sluggo Dorsett Davis or something?
Who said Cutler was the messiah? remember Elway's first year? Well, in his second, we went 13-3. We can't do alot but adjust the D right now.

the biggest problem with our team is the defense...so I disagree with you
Plummer was problem #2, very closely behind our defense
but it's on Shanny for going on the cheap to try to fill a defensive line

Nice selective quote...I said the only thing we can do otherwise is ADJUST THE D.
We can't make major roster moves other than Cutler. That's a fact. This time of your all that is left are out of shape rodents. All we can do is move to more bump and run in the secondary.
Problem with that is Fergy is gone and Lynch isn't a cover safety by a country mile.

that's exactly why Cutler is starting
we wont be any worse on offense, that is for sure, but starting Cutler does 2 things
gets Cutler some experience for a real run next year AND

If we can convert on more 3rd downs and spell the defense - you'd be amazed at what this would do for our avg pts per game. We are winning guys but need to be more consistent in some areas that will make this team a great team and if Cutler is the way - let's do it!
