no way was this not their Super Bowl, again.

Denver fans are pissed they're 7-4 and while they know their team is good enough to make the playoffs, are angry they're not championship-caliber.

Chief fan appears ecstatic that their team has a chance to go the playoffs.

Perfect examples of one franchise's fan base who expects success, and other who is just happy to taste it occasionally.

Yeah there's no question they look forward to this game all year and it's the highlight of their season, but can you really blame them? They've got, what, two post-season wins in the last two decades.

The bottom line is that they're obsessed with our team and constantly compare their team against ours in an effort to prove it's good. It's like I said: The Chiefs our the Jan Bradys of the NFL and we're their Marshas.

Its a big deal in the AC West to beat the Broncos. Chef fan is exactly like the Sandy eggo fan was on Sunday. Look how great we are, we beat the Broncos (for a change!) Let the a-holes have their day in the sun. they have both already won their superbowl this year.

I've said it before, but if this was KC's Super Bowl, can someone please tell me what Denver's was?

Was it barely managing to squeak out a win over Damon Huard? Beating the Pats before they got going? I wish I'd known at the time, I would have partied it up and called in sick the next day.

good post Hercules. Exactly, what I've been saying in the past few posts.

Denver fans are POed like you said at the effort in the last few games. This actually started with UNIMPRESSIVE wins in Cleveland, Oakland, and Pitt.

I think our best performance this year was the New England game on the road. That was a solid solid all around game by the Broncos.

Go ahead chefs fans, be proud of 7-4, we know you are not used to it. But don't come back here when you are 9-7 or 10-6 w/ a 1st round exit and b*tch about Herm's conservative playcalling.

Donk fans, keep trying to justify the loss by pretending that the game wasn't a big deal. Saying that the Chiefs won because they wanted to win more badly than the Donks did is NOT an insult to the Chiefs. Just because your players played like it was just another game instead of an AFC West rivalry game doesn't give you an excuse.

Kaylore
11-24-2006, 05:13 PM
ROFL! Look at them. They want to say "Well it was like a Super Bowl! We even had a big halftime show!" but they're afraid to. It's ok, though. If they think beating our depleated team is cause for having an orgy, then more power to them.

And to answer your question, Chief fans: No. It wasn't a big deal for us to lose in Arrowhead. With a borderline retarded QB and several key injuries lost for the whole season I'm not surprised at all. We split the series every year. I wouldn't be surprised if they had T-shirts in KC for that game specifically.Ha!

And that had nothing to do with the Chiefs? If you ask me, I'd say the Chiefs grabbed the Donkeys' collective head and shoved it up their ass. But if you want to play it that way, then I'll just say that the Chiefs haven't had a legitimate road loss this year because they played "with their heads so far up their @$$."

Did the possibility ever occur to you that Denver got beat because they were the second best team on the field last night? Give it some thought.

Oh it's not an excuse...we're p!ssed at the performance, well at least I am. But that doesn't change the fact that your team is still not going anywhere and this is what this thread is about.

Your fellow fans are acting like it is a super bowl. Why don't you take it as a good win, 7-4, and go on from there.

How you KC fans are reacting just shows exactly what we are saying. A franchise that does in fact get way too hyped about a division win because well, they haven't done squat in ages.

The moment you take it as a division win which can only help your cause and move on is the moment that you start getting respect...not only from the Broncos but from the rest of the NFL. Quit acting like you have won something. Heck just win a game at arrowhead in the PLAYOFFS. I thought KC doesn't lose in that place after October! what a freaking joke.

Kaylore

We've seen our team all year and everyone clearly saw that this was the worst game of our season. We made many mistakes and drew multiple penalties. If we had played a real playoff team we'd have been down by 30...at home.

ZONA
11-24-2006, 05:21 PM
I think it's only normal to compare you're team to the team who has owned the division for the past decade. Just like the AFC East teams all look to NE as a barameter on where they are at. One thing is for sure though, for some reason, this AFC West has always been one of the toughest division in football for some time now. There's always talk at the start of a new year about other divisions but the AFC West always comes though with 2 or 3 teams at least talking about playoffs.

listen, just please try to open your mind for a second. Denver was worse than the 2nd best team yesterday. They were even worse than the KC cheerleaders.

again here is the main point: yes you were "the best team" on the field BUT...you will not get anywhere if you think this "best team" is actually going places. You better hope a lot changes or you will get smoked.

look im going to give you the answer cuz obviously you have trouble getting it:

you should be happy that you won a divsion game, NOT proclaiming that you are going places and that Denver is done, etc...

trust me worry about next week. One step at a time. You need a to get into the playoffs, win a road game, before you make it to the super bowl...oh wait you won it last night right?!

Heck, this should be the goal for the chefs in the next 5 yrs----> get into the playoffs and actually win a HOME game. I think that is sufficient time. Maybe this year you can build by making the playoffs and maybe in like a couple of years you can eventually get a home game and hopefully for ur sake not lose AGAIN.

Maybe Lin Elliot will come back and redeem himself, but first get a home playoff game again. One step at a time chef fans....one step at a time

Mullets have about as much smarts as a very dim 2 watt bulb. I think we will see a different parade of mullet-idiots right after the next KC loss which will be coming up shortly. I do not consider KC the Broncos' biggest rivals. That is an honor reserved for Indy. As for the mullets, the annual home and home stuff is just "business s usual; another NFL season" and means little more than nothing. The reason the semi-resident mullets think it is a big rivalry is because they come here to stroke themselves and hope that somehow the Bronco fans would say something nice about their "team". Hero worship for them is an important hobby, you see, and they are very jealous of the Broncos' organization and success rate.

The more devastating loss for the Broncos was to the Indy team, then to Sandy Eggo , but in both cases, the Broncos were in the hunt right up to the last, even thought the Broncos' team did not play as well as it could have. Nonetheless, they were losses, and the Broncos fans are savvy enough, sophisticated enough, knowledgeable enough and smart enough to know that the count at the end of the season is what matters. Teh annual screw job in Narrowhead means nothing at the end of the season. No one will remember it.

Further, to go to other teams' boards and spew smack and look for attention is just the sort of thing we would expect from mullets with kindergarten skills. Not too bright, for sure.

You could possibly make this argument if the Chiefs were 3-7 or 4-6, pretty much out of the playoff picture, but this was a huge division win for KC and put them in 2nd in the division and quite possibly made the playoff picture more clearer for KC. KC controls it's own destiny. This wasn't KC's superbowl, but it was a big game no doubt about it. Had KC lost this game it more than likely would have been the end of the season. We are in a better position in the WC race.

Broncos fans are mad because their team is literally falling apart and I would be pissed as hell too if I went from 1st to 3rd in the division in only 5 days.

Screw you. Who are you to tell us who the Broncos' rivals are? KC is a bump in the road. The annual split between these teams is a given. It is a rivalry for you - indeed the super bowl o fgames for the mullets - but only a game for the Broncos. Indy would likely say NE. Rivalries do not have to be mutual. I can't speak for other fans of the Chiefs, but for me this game was in no way a "Superbowl"-type game. It got the same relevance as a KC-Oak. or KC- SD game- just another division game that fans want their teams to win. Also, the fact that Denver went from 1st to 3rd in the division in just 4 days is just an added twist that puts a smile on my face. I like to see Denver fail. I like to see Oakland fail. And, (here's a surprise) I like to see SD fail. JMO

Anyway, thanks for giving this game to us, guys. If not for your defense's generosity the Chiefs would be in a real pickle. We know you just want to keep things competitive. ('cause you got it like that) L8R

^^ In order to own a division for 10 years dont you think the Broncos would have won the division more than 1 time in the past 4 years ( looking like 5 years now ) ? No one ever said logics were your strong suit.

^^ Yes and Colorado lumber jacks are known for their keen wit and intellect. Seriously just take a look around the crowd at Transvesco once in a while. There are so many white trash flannels it looks like Al Boerlin had a garage sale.

I love how you said "nowhere THIS YEAR" ...you guys want to talk so much smack but your insecurity shows. Don't worry though at least you are right this time. Cutler will smoke the chefs when he gets the chance. Too bad its not this year...oh wait maybe lucky us since he is leading us nowhere this year.

Just go back to your board man. You are embarassing yourself. Your insecurity is so obvious with this sentence alone.

^^ Cutler has not even started one game yet but already Dungver homers are claiming he will light us up for 10 plus years. Ahh the homer is strong with this one.

Chief3188

Indeed. You should have seen the few dickhead Chef fans in the malls today, suddenly dusting off their Priest Holmes jerseys to "flaunt" them around Denver. What a pathetic fan-base.

Dusting off our Priest Holmes jerseys? Coming from the fans of a team who still wear more Elway jerseys than current players that is nothing short of hilarious.

I don't have a "smug sense of superiority. I KNOW the Broncso are superior to the pathetic mullets. No, it isn't eating me up. I still had a grat day. I still enjoy my family. I still have all the adult toys (boat, car, wife, mistresses, etc.). so, I have lost nothing. I never lose anything because of how the Broncos play or not play.

Stick it in your ear, arsehole.

Chief fans shoud know quite well they caught this game at exactly the right time. I don't see a team there with the capability of beating any other opponent in the playoffs if they make it. What's the suprise here? A win in Arrowhead over Denver? They do it every year and lose in Mile High...as predicable as an early KC exit in the playoffs...

Dont presume to know anything about my security... how many teams find the new Jim Brown? and put a real D with him? Our future is glimmering...

As far as cutler he may or may not do squat. I will say he looked great in pre-season, but be honest, we all know that doesnt prove much...

Even in our down years the donx rarely sweep us, this insecurity complex theory of yours is a joke, its only a rivalry because its always close. The donx look to be in a transitional stage with neither of the bells grabbing the RB reigns and working in a rook QB for good measure.

Just like the CHIEFS with King Kong Brody, cutler is a complete crunch time unknown.

We may yet meet again in the playoffs so will we see who has the last laugh.

Yeah, I guess we were almost as good as you dweebs last night.. Too bad the score board had us on top.

I'll grant you one thing, I think others should be like me and be here (actually both our chiefs board and this board) a few days before, during the game and maybe a day or two after, but alas, any other time just doesn't make sense. So you are denying the facts that Denver cheated the cap during those years or got caught with grease on their jerseys in a playoff game?

Dont you hate it when those guys try to bog your SB wins down with silly little things like facts?

Yeah, sure am denying it. And only a loser rooting for a loser team would accuse
another team of cheating at something they couldn't accomplish for
36 years. The only fact you have presented is that you are a loser
and your team last went to the Super Bowl when Nixon was president.

Is that all you got? Our supposed "cheating" gave us no competitive advantage as admitted by the league office, so try again or just beat that drum.

How does it not give you a competitive advantage when all the other teams are conforming to the rules? or better yet how does greasing up your uniforms not give you a competitive advantage? This should be good.

Its a big deal in the AC West to beat the Broncos. Chef fan is exactly like the Sandy eggo fan was on Sunday. Look how great we are, we beat the Broncos (for a change!) Let the a-holes have their day in the sun. they have both already won their superbowl this year.

Hate to break it to you, but the Chargers' super bowl this year will be the SuperBowl.

BTW, have fun not being able to run the ball once your O-line actually has to block instead of just try to end guys' careers.

That's why no regular season win will ever be Denver's "Super Bowl".
Unfortunately, it seems your own thread has gone over your head. See, we, and by that I mean the Broncos, aren't getting anywhere near a Super Bowl.

You sit around proclaiming that we "expect post season success", like we've done absolutely anything in the postseason the last few years except get embarrassed time and again. Wait, we did win a game last year, except everyone in the world who's not a Broncos fan thinks the refs handed it to us. And then we got embarrassed in our own house.

Wake up to reality, okay? You seem to be operating under the mistaken delusion that we're the New England Patriots or something. Like one division win and a few wildcards, only to end with humiliating losses each and every time, makes us the elite of the league.

To say "this was KC's Super Bowl" isn't half the insult you seem to think it is.

Wow, good straw man. Denver fans expect post-season success= Bronco fans think they're the New England Patriots. Since they're not, they're not an elite team in this league when there hasn't anyone here coming close to claiming they're an elite team.

But you attempt to tell me this thread went over my head, when you demonstrate you can't comprehend the basic point of this thread. Regardless of how well or terrible the Broncos do, their fanbase expects success from the franchise in the postseason. Maybe you just jumped on the Chiefs bandwagon, or whatever team you're a fan of, in the past few years, but I'd wager the vast majority of people on this site have been fans for well over a decade. So you're last few years jab doesn't really mean much in the grand scheme of things since the people here have memories that are bit longer than that.

But hey, nice try at a fisk.

</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>NEW YORK (Sept. 16, 2004) -- The National Football League Management Council, the NFL Players Association, and the Denver Broncos have agreed to a resolution of a salary cap circumvention case involving an investigation into undisclosed agreements with certain Broncos players during the period of 1996-1998.
The settlement will result in the Broncos losing their third-round pick in the 2005 NFL Draft and paying a fine of $950,000. In addition, while admitting no wrongdoing, an agent of a former Broncos player will pay $100,000 to charity. The settlement ends a Special Master proceeding under the NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement that was initiated by the NFL Management Council in January of 2003 against the Broncos.
The undisclosed agreements that formed the basis of the Management Council's disciplinary initiative, and ultimately the settlement between the Management Council and the Broncos, included 1) agreements with several Broncos players to defer salary payments with interest, and 2) an agreement with a former Broncos player not to waive the player prior to a certain date. Both types of agreements raised salary cap accounting issue.
Following are comments by NFL Executive Vice President of Labor Relations Harold Henderson, who also serves as chairman of the NFL Management Council:

"The investigation resulted in the discovery of undisclosed agreements between the club and Broncos players during the same period (1996-1998) pursuant to which various players agreed to defer certain compensation in exchange for a commitment to pay interest on the deferred amounts. These agreements were plainly designed to help the club cope with seasonal cash flow problems exacerbated by the Broncos' need to fund front-end expenditures associated with development of the new stadium in Denver."
"The investigation also uncovered an undisclosed 1997 commitment by the Broncos not to waive a player prior to a certain date. That commitment had the effect of converting the player's roster bonus into a guarantee, which affected the timing of the salary cap treatment of a portion of the bonus."
"The individuals responsible for the violations are no longer with the team. The Broncos have been cooperative throughout the investigation and agreed on the settlement terms that we deemed satisfactory to resolve the dispute."</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

That was instance #2, and the weaker of the two charges. If it was as serious, Denver would have been penalized more since their first violation resulted in losing a 3rd round pick also. In a league that believes in escalating punishments for each infraction, penalizing the same as before says something about the violation. And as it was pointed out, the cash went to funding the stadium, not paying other players they couldn't have otherwise have signed.
