He has ALWAYS given 100% every game! I was never in favor of him coming here. I watched him for years make the same mistakes over and over in AZ and thought he would do the same here. He's actually played a lot better here than I ever thought he could.

Even though not having the strongest arm and the best decision making skills no one can ever question his desire to win and the fact that he left it all out on the field every game.

Good luck Jake Plummer where ever your road leads you now!

There is no doubt, Jake is all heart. I still remeber him carrying ASU against OSU and almost single handily won the national championship. He has forced alot of profanity from my lips but I truly do like the guy and wish him the best.

I honestly feel bad for Jake. He's truly played his ass off for this team. Maybe his ass has'nt always been enough but I trusted he would try. I agree with some one who posted Jake's similarity to a Baptist minister. They can both make you stand up and yell Jesus! Here's to Jake with best luck anywhere he goes.

There's a nifty Jake Appreciation thread around here somewhere.

I was thinking about this the other day,
we go from Griese to Plummer. Just about opposites in the Heart department. About equal arms, but pretty much opposite.

We know Jay has a better arm, I just really hope he is in the somewhere in the middle of Griese and Plummer as far as heart and decision making.

You know what makes me optimistic?

We know Cutler will be a significant upgrade physically over Griese or Plummer, but I think his value might be even greater. His personality seems very even keel, which is something I value in a quarterback.

I know Griese got a lot of heat for being dispassionate, but I almost prefer that kind of quarterback to a rah rah type of guy. Guys like Montana and Brady remain calm in pressure situations and that confidence is transmitted to their teams.

I think Jay will kind of fall in between Brian and Jake personality wise. Not as aloof as Brian, but not as hyper as Jake. This will be a very good thing in the long run. Especially in the fourth quarter of a close game when some guys find they're breathing way too fast.

I always liked Jake's mobility (best of a bronco qb since elway) and he does give it his all. He's a stand up guy with the media, too (last night he was accessable - more so than Shanahan). This year has been his worst for accuracy - he's not making the throws he made last year.

He'd make a better backup qb than Van Pelt, but like Griese I'm guessing he won't stick around to be a backup in Denver.

You could tell he was trying last night. I thought he was going to tank it and give Shanny a big F-you but he is a warrior. It was sad seeing him with the helmet on after the game. He looked really dissapointed that he couldn't pull off the win.

Did you see his locker room interview on NFL network after the game? The guy looked and sounded defeated. His eyes were welling up man! It showed that the guy does have a lot of heart, and really wants to win, but his lack of talent has obviously taken over.

It's OK to feel sorry for him, for a few minutes....I will. But after that it's on to supporting the new era in Bronco football!

Interesting take. Griese was a little too cool, and Jake's too high strung. I'll still be neutral on Cutler, although I want to see him play. A strong arm isn't automatic success. Lots of guys have NFL arms. But if he DOESN'T play this year, it all but says the broncs are in for a year or two of transition.

It's not a lack of talent, it's just a head problem. He's finally caved to the pressure that is being a Bronco QB. Did you see how efficient he looked on that TD drive last night? You could tell he just put **** out of his mind and went for it. It's just too bad he can't take that attitude all the time. He's just let this stuff get to him. He played very well all last season, and this year it's just too hit and miss... mostly miss.

If you're a Bronco fan and don't hold a little place of fondness for the guy, well... I'm not sure what to make of you. Any QB who wins 3/4ths of his game and energizes our franchise out of the dumps like he did will always have a spot in my heart.

Now, we hopefully move to our next great QB. I just can't wait to see the kid play. It's part II of what I've considered a major win/win.

He even said himself "I'm the starter right now. But if Mike wants to put Jay in there, then my play hasn't warranted him to not do it . . . (then) I have to go with it.

I think even Rod knew, because he basically said what this thread says which is "well Jake tries really hard." It's just time.

Yep, can't deny he just wants to win and will do whatever he can to help the team get there. It's just reached a point where he's become part of the problem.
