Another quarterback that could draw Philadelphia's interest: Broncos quarterback Jake Plummer. With first-round pick Jay Cutler waiting in the wings and expected to take over as Denver's starter in 2007, Plummer is not expected to return to Denver. The Broncos will wind up trading or releasing him, and Philadelphia could be an ideal landing spot. Plummer is familiar with the West-Coast-type offense, as well as the NFC East division, having played in it during his time in Arizona. The market for Plummer is not expected to be active. But the Eagles could be a potential suitor.

I could see the Packers being interested as well, depending on Rogers' progression from his broken foot. Detroit could be as well as Minnesota (good luck Mock)

No...better not risk it. If we ask for to much they might back out.

Is familiar a new synonym for "worthless?"

I heard that Atlanta might need a new 3rd stringer next year.

Well it's a possibility I guess, like all of them, but not this year, since Week 6 was the trade deadline. Who know's what's going on w/McNabb now that he's injured again. If we could pull out a 3rd or 4th from any team, after Plummer's TERRIBLE season this year would be robbery. Then Shanny could pull out some more of his drafting smarts again. I was hoping Plummer would stay and restructure to be the back-up, but after the last 3 weeks, I can't cheer for the guy anymore. The last 3 weeks, I've been nervous every time the guy does a straight drop back and I can't even remember the last time I was worried like that.

Philly might be a good place to go. There is no guarantee that McNabb will
be able to come back in time for the start of the season. They haven't
even been able to operate yet because of the swelling.

Come, why would any team want Plummer?
He might of had some value after the last season, but now, after the year he is having. I would rather have Gracia and Feeley.

He has killed off any value that he posibly could of had. We are going to have to cut him. His contract is to high for anyone to take that and give us something.

I hate when these so called experts act like they are psychics. Who the hell knows where Plummer will end up. The Eagles may not have any interest, so why report that there is a chance he'll end up there? Now there will be rumors that Plummer will be going there.

I, for one, would not be upset at all if Jake took a large pay cut and served as the backup here.

No way would Plummer stay with the Broncos. That's like saying Griese would come back. No chance. They will have to cut Plummer since his contract would be too high for a team to have that much interest in him.

Its too bad its past the trade deadline.
I can't Imagine a team outside the CFL actually GIVING up
something for a qb denver can't get rid of quickly enough.
Its too bad the deadline is past, I'd be all for the Chiefs dumping
Huard while he's got value and is on the roster.

I think this is a different case than with Griese. He was a pile no one on the team liked. Jake doesn't play like a star, but people on the team like him. If he's willing to take a pay cut I don't know why it would be such a bad thing.

Nah, Plummer wouldn't stay where not wanted by most fans. Broncos will sign a veteran QB next year and probably draft a QB in the 5-7th rounds.

Plummers Helper? I like Hamburger Helper. Especially the "Cheeseburger" one... Mmmmmm...
Everyone loves Jake because he buys beer and gets all trashed after the games. Then he rams his truck into unsuspecting Suzuki Samurai drivers. Who wouldn't love that?

I think you considering a Honda Element to be a truck is a little questionable. By the way, I think tunahelper may be a better name for me the way Jake has been playing. My point is, although Jake has played poorly he would probably do better as a back up next year than anyother vet qb who doesn't know our system or a rookie. He could do better in a pinch too because there would be no real pressure on him.

I don't see Plummer going to any team that doesn't have a solid running game. The San Diego game was the perfect example. He had early struggles, but the "dogs" were called off Jake once Bell and Nash started doing their thing...

Man I can't wait for Plummer to leave that 38-14 record as a starter sucks. Like to see if cutler can do that. I doubt it.

I wouldnt mind seeing Jake as our back up Qb. Not sure he would go for that, but Im sure he realizes that Denver is a first class team. He would have to restructure his contract , and I dont think any team will throw alot of coin at him. That way he can learn from Cutler.

I was hoping before the season that Jake would have a repeat of last year which would mean that we got good trade value for him. Now that's unlikely. Not only is he playing badly which in and of itself declines his trade value, but also with Cutler in the wings his bad play is making it a cast-iron certaintly that he will be either traded or released. Why give up something in a trade for a player that you know will be available on the open market?
Then again, you have to look at what the free agent market will be yeilding - there may not be that much competition. Coming off a bad performance and a tough loss Jake looks to us like the son of satan, but in the cold light of the offseason he will look to other teams exactly what he is: an imperfect yet experienced Qb who has had good seasons in the past and could do again.....
You also have to think about the fact that if he is still under contract, Shanny may force him to stay on as backup, which he may well accept anyway as he may only be looking at a backup spot on another team in any case.
So maybe we do get something for him after all, but all those dreams of an extra 1st round pick next year just went up in smoke....Hilarious!

sheesh i sure was wrong at the beginning of the year. i thought that plummer still had atleast one good year left, maybe two and that we would likely get 1st or 2nd round value for him. he didnt even have a game left and were lucky if we get an early 4th for him.

Agreed, not w/ that contract he has... On the other hand if he was released, there would be no bonus $$$ acceleration since we have paid out all his bonus money... cha ****ing ching
Oh yeah and maybe for once we could try to invest in a pro bowler D-lineman, no?

If it weren't for the running game, Jakes overall record in Denver would be 14-39, not 39-14, he owes that record to the running game.
