1997 14-10 game.

A close 2nd was the one, I think in 1992, when we were down 19-6 with 2:00 left, and Elway led us back. That was Martyball to a T. Arthur Marshall muffing the punt, then picking it up and running to like the 30. I remember everyone running back into the stadium once they realized they were idiots for assuming it was over when Elway still had the ball. That one was cool. Definitely my favorite Elway Regular Season memory ever. I was at that one.

I selected the 1998 game at Mile High. It was after the Thomas meltdown at Arrowhead and they came in with a chip on their shoulders. They really really wanted to win this game and beat the undefeated Broncos.

Elway leads Denver back from a 10 point 4th quarter deficit and sent KC cowering home. Denver went to 12-0 that game and ended up losing the next week at NY but they beat KC and that is what's important.

I remember that one. That was friggin big. I remember everyone was like "Whoa, its the 3rd quarter and it isnt over yet?!?!?" We were so dominant that year. That one was like 2 days before I went into basic.

These polls should always exclude the postseason game because they will always win.

I used to do these polls here a few years ago, and I would clarify "Favorite Regular Season game at Kansas City", and people would still reply "the playoff game in '97".

Yeah. You'll notice like 5 people had already voted for the '97 game before I got the poll posted!! It was a great game.

People can choose multiple games if they like.

Great list Atlas!

A few for the old schoolers though.

1970 KC at Denver - after going 1-19 versus Dallas/Kansas City in the AFL days, the Broncos roar to a big start in 1970 with a dominating Defensive performance over the Chiefs. Tombstone Jackson, Paul Smith, Pete Duranko and others **** up Lenny Dawson all day with 9 sacks. In an unprecedented decision, the writers vote the entire Broncos Defense as the NFL Defensive player of the week in a 26-3 rout of the Chiefs.

1973 KC at Denver - with 1st place on the line in week 11, the Broncos take over sole possession of 1st place with a 14-10 win over the Chiefs. Charlie Johnson and Haven Moses connect for two TD's as a Nationally televised crowd watches Mile High Stadium go bonkers once the gun sounds.

1974 KC at Denver - A wild MNF contest that sees Charlie Johnson and John Hufnagel throw for a combined near 500 yards passing. The Chiefs still take a 42-34 win at Mile High.

1975 KC at Denver - the greatest rookie debut in Broncos history was not Glyn Milburn in 1993; it was Rick Upchurch in 1975 in this game. Upchurch returns kicks all day, scores on an end around, and scores on a 90 yard bomb from Charlie Johnson in his rookie debut. Upchurch does all of this in a bogus looking helmet that has no decals, as his helmet was exploded and rendered useless earlier in the day. Charlie Johnson throws a late game winner to Billy Van Heusen to take a thrilling 37-33 opening day victory.

1977 Denver at Kansas City - The Broncos stage a huge goal line stand late in the game to preserve a 7-7 tie. The Chiefs have a first and goal at the Broncos one, and do not score on 4 plays. Later in the 4th, Craig Morton hits Haven Moses with a 33 yard game winner to clinch the 14-7 win.

1978 Denver at Kansas City - The Broncos RB By Committee wins this game with 200 yards rushing. Dave Preston scores the game winner in OT as the Broncos win an important road game 23-17.

1978 KC at Denver - Craig Morton puts on the greatest passing performance in Broncos history to date as he goes 19 for 22 for 250 yards and 3 TD's in the 24-3 rout.

1981 KC at Denver - after the Broncos jump out to a 16-0 lead, the Chiefs start to chip away in the 2nd half, behind Steve Fuller. Trailing 16-13 late, Bob Swenson makes the Defensive Play of the year snaring a Fuller pass in midair and running a long ways to clinch a 16-13 win, in a late season 1st place battle game.

1983 KC at Denver - this game was one of the games that Steve Deberg did such a nice job in, in relief of the benched John Elway. Deberg throws for over 300 yards while Steve Watson and Rick Upchurch go for over 100 yards each. Broncos win 27-24 on their way to a Wild Card.

There will always be a special place in my heart for Hugh Millen's OT triumph at Arrowhead in 1994. Kansas City had that game in the bag but Karl Mecklenberg's miracle strip of Marcus Allen and Shane Dronett's block of a game winning FG attempt kept the Broncos in alive in a game they had no business winning . The W put the Broncos at 7-6 and back in the playoff picture after an 0-4 start.

Forgot 1986 in Denver, which was also a first place showdown game:

The Broncos roll to a 28-0 lead with only 1 Passing Yard from John Elway. The Broncos get an Andre Townsend TD as he rolls into the endzone with a recovered fumble. A Randy Robbins blitz sack forces another fumble which Denver turns into 7.

The Broncos also get 2 Special Teams TD's as Punter Chris Norman throws a TD to Cornerback Steve Wilson, while Greald Willhite returns a Punt for a TD.

Broncos roll 38-16 in this 1st place showdown game.

Ah man, too many to count.

How about all of Elway's magic. 1989 at Kansas City. Elway make two spin o rama throws on the final drive to beat KC at the buzzer 16-13. Unreal stuff from John!!

1990 MNF - Elway's famous 4th and 10 to Vance, which sets up Treadwell's game winner; 24-23.

1991 at Denver - Elway famous cross filed throw to Mark Jackson. Oh man, what a ****ing play!!!

The Kragen game is the 1989 game I mentioned. Great to see Kragen score. He made the All Madden Team that year, as he played in front of Madden Summerall twice, losses at home to NYG in the snow and the Philly game. Kragen played well and had a sack in both games so Madden included him.

Both the 1998 games were classics. I loved the Monday Night Meltdown because we just dominated the Chiefs and caused the meltdown and as a result the Chiefs were embarassed for years. My dad wouldn't even admit to being a Chiefs fan for several weeks after that.

I loved Kragen. He hung around playing great for so long. It took years for people to even say.. "Man, he is good" I remember he hung around Denver until '95 and was taken in the expansion draft by the Jagwads and he played a few more years there. He had a great career.

I loved Bristers run! I mean he babystepped it though whole way but he was sprinting. All you saw was his skinny chicken legs scooting for a 70 yard TD. That was great.

When Thomas was doing all that and embarrassing himself on MNF I really felt bad for all 6 of his kids by 4 different women.

My bad on this info. Kragen's last year in Denver was in 1993. He spent one year with the Chefs of all teams and then was selected in the expansion draft in 1995 by Carolina, not Jacksonville.

He played until 1997.

I guess he must have played in the '97 game against the Broncos where Denver beat them 34-0.

I voted for the 1998 home game cause I was there. Great game. Elway threw for over 400 yards. The kc guy in our section was talking all kinds of trash during the game. He left half way through the fourth quarter cause he new we were going to end up winning. When we left the whole section cheered. It was great.

has to be the playoff game as we lost earlier at theiir stadium. I didnt see the 2 TDs in the last two minutes because it wasnt shown in California (too young to go to the bar) in the late 80s, but that is one of elway's greatest comebacks and tyupicle marty ball. If you havent seen it, check out the video of ELWAY'S GREATEST Comebacks.

The Monday Night Meltdown will always remain my favorite. Never have I seen a player, and an entire defense just totally lose it.

I have heard one of the things Shannon Sharpe yelled at Derrick Thomas was Thomas' girlfriend's phone number.

It was just raining flags. I remember sitting on the couch and laughing in disbelief when play after play - flag after flag. And the camera going over to the sidelines and Marty just standing there. Like he didn't know where he was or what he was doing there. He just sort of abdicated and watched with the rest of us.

Ahh... Shannon. Back when our team had some personality. Back when they said we're going to line up and do it. You know we're going to do it. You know you can't stop us from doing it.

The last time we won at narrowhead.

Sharpe made 12 catches, set a single-game record for receiving yards for TEs with 214 KC azz kicking yards.

Sharpe beat down three KC "defenders" for an 82 yard TD.

He bent down in the end zone and pointed to his shoe:

"It says, 'Big Play Shay,''' Sharpe said. "I just wanted to let everyone know I was still back.''

Any win in KC is my favorite and you couldn't have picked a bigger stage to do it on than the 1997 playoffs against the Chiefs in frozen Arrowhead Stadium. What an awesome game. Just the whole drama of it and that was the game that got us red hot. We had just lost there about a month earlier and everything was lined up against us, yet we stuck it out and made it another black sunday for KC Chief fans... putting them right where they deserve to be... losing in the playoffs, at home!

It might be a tie though because the 1993 victory at home against the Chiefs was amazing as well. I think we began the game behind 0-14 and KC was really whipping our a$$. They were a better team that year easily and it looked like they would finally beat us in Denver. Elway rallied the troops and we really got to see some of the most inspired football ever played by the Broncos. The decided play came on a Reggie Rivers blocked punt in the fourth quarter and then the crowd helped carry the Broncos to the win.

What an amazing pair of games.
