View Full Version : What to do with Plummer in the KC game?

Alright, here goes another Plummer thread.
Basically it seems that Shanahan will be starting Plummer for the game against Kansas City, so I pose the question of what you guys think Shanny should do with Jake. Here are the 2 options I see us having...
1.) Put the ball in Jake's hands and turn him loose, giving him one last chance to win a big game and show us that he still has game. If he can't do it, he's benched.
2) Keep the leash on him and try to manage him to a win.
So lets talk about it.

Let the leash go!!
Let Plummer play for his job, and let it be known to him in a private meeting on Wed.

To the tune of Loverboy's...... Turn me Loose, Jake is wanting to call his own plays, do his own thing. Who needs a Rat when you can have a Snake !
As long as you have Jake the Fake at the helm, you guys will go nowhere.

I think letting him loose is a recipe for disaster. Denver's only hope is that the running game gets cranked up and the defense plays better than it did against San Diego. Then they have to pray that Plummer doesn't screw it up.

I bet you guys would kill for 3 straight trips to the playoffs, 1 of them going all the way to the AFC championship.

Keep him on a leash and tie it to the bench.

you go drive by drive. He starts pulling the crap he pulled last night, bench him in the game and put in Cutler.

I agree. If I'm Shanny I sit him down and say "Look dude, you've sucked most of this year, but I'm giving you one last chance to show that you deserve to be the starter, so good luck."

How can you post this thread and then add that comment? It boggles the mind. You've already jumped off Plummer's bandwagon.

It was in direct response to that statement that we would go nowhere with Plummer, which is simply not true.
FTR, I was never on the Plummer bandwagon, or any other player bandwagon for that matter. I'm a Broncos fan and therefor support ALL Bronco players.

Let him play running back and see if either of the Bells can throw any better. Or Rod, for that matter...

It's 100% percent true. You have gone nowhere with Plummer. Losing in the AFC Championship isn't some kind of grand accomplishment. No one cared in 1996 and no one cares about 2005. You won't win a playoff game this year.

Winning the game in Arrowhead is enough for them each year

Amazing that a fan of franchise who hasn't done anything for at least a decade before he was born, is able to tell fans of a team that consistently goes to the playoffs, what is and is not a successful season.

While I agree with you, chefs will do nothing with green at helm and you can't even argue it. He has had plenty of chances to make playoffs and even win a game. I don't think there has ever been a player to put up as many empty stats as green.

I know you said in 97 Den wouldn't beat KC, then it was well won't beat Pitt, and for sure you said know way they beat the best team in regular season in superbowl with the best QB at that time. 98 probably said all year won't beat Vikings etc. see a trend boob can always say his bullcrap with no consequence being wrong 90% of the time.

Let him loose with the full game plan. Here is what Shanny should say:
"This is it Jake take it or leave it. You deserve this one last chance to be the starter. Mess this up and you are inactive barring injury. Now go out there and abuse this mess that is called the Chiefs. Who cares about what all those inbred fans are screaming they live and die by beating the Broncos at least once. You see that is their SB, Jake, now go out there and take it from them. Get some boy.... get some!"

Uh...we're ecstatic that Green is our quarterback. He's finally got a good defense to complement him this year. I can't wait to see what we do in the playoffs. The last time we were there, our offense didn't punt. Green played a flawless game. Had it not been for the mistakes of others, we'd have won.

Shanahan needs to either schitt or get off the pot with Jake. Open up the playbook, run the offense like last year or put in the rook. Shanny needs to quit pussyfooting around the quarterback issue and his pulling in on the reigns is actually exacerbating the situation.

Do whatever it takes to win. If it means he plays game manager, that's what it means. We NEED this game. This is no time to experiment with a new QB.

Maybe try Plummer at the DE position. He has always had the knack at creating plays and forcing TO's.

You don't have to tell LJ what Denver vs. Kansas City means...he knows.
Champ and John Lynch know.
Herm Edwards?...oh he knows.
Pat Bowlen?...you better believe it.
Jake Plummer?...probably not.
But you should still watch the NFL Network's live regular season game premiere, on Thursday night.

Skip the leash and put one of those shocker collars on him like you train your mutt with. Then jam the damn remote button in the ON position. That's what I'd like to do.

One of the biggest positives of that game will be the end of that stupid commercial. Man that one is almost as bad as "This is our Country" :hitself: :hitself:

HOMER on boy. The facts of the matter are this. 4th and 1, LJ stopped......game over. Oopps yellow flag, facemask...dumbass Raiders. Chiefs win. Without that penalty you were toast. Green and your passing offense closely resembled ours last sunday and you know it.
