Apart from Elam our Special Teams have been dire this season

Absolutely woeful and IMO a major reason why we gave up that lead against SD last night.

Ernster's initial solid punting and kick-offs have dropped in production like a lead balloon now a 41.4 Gross avg 3rd worst in the league. His punts are far too short and have terrible hang-time. How many fair catches do opposition punt returners have against the Broncos???

Flip the coin and ask yourself how many times have we been able to return punt???

It's not like Ernster isn't getting enough practice. It's not just Paul either. I've lost count how many returners we've been through already this season plus the special teams tackling or lack of it is a killer.

We've the 2nd worst KR average in the NFL 18.7 yds pr and are in the bottom half in PR's.

We've given up the 2nd most KR average in the NFL at 26.5 yds pr.

Something has to be done about this unit and fast or Bradford and McGaughey should be looking for new jobs.

Your right in the KR department but in punting we've dropped from 7th to 30th in one season. Shows you the difference in talent between Todd and Ernster.

Get your point but I'm sure this is one area where the team wanted to improve. They've actually became worse if that's humanly possible. Ernster couldn't even hit the endzone last night and he's supposed to be a kick-off specialist ffs.

When are we going to get a real ST coach, not a former Bronco player that we want to give a job to, or some scrub Coach that we move into the position, so we just throw them on the ST. This has happened repeatedly. Bradford...Frank Bush, Anthony Lynn (i think he was just assistant special teams coach IIRC) etc. It's getting old. We need a real special teams guru.

Ernster was great early, sucking now. My boy Cecil at least could advance the ball on kickoffs. We need to re-sign him...but he's not a real home run threat after putting on some pounds for FB.

A few short kickoffs and punts at Arrowhead this week would be just the recipe for Dainty Hall to get better. He's been average this year.

The thing about Ernster is I thought he was a better kicker prospect than punter since he was a placekicker in college for 4 years and a very good one and only punted his senior year, which he did well there too.
