But, at least he's gone on to a fruitful NFL career without the Broncos holding him back.

Wow, that's BS. I don't hate lelie, but when you quit on the people that gave you money to do a job, they deserve that money back. I guess the legal system doesn't always work.

If you give a guy 20 bucks to mow your lawn, and he only mows the front. I think you are entitled to 10 bucks back.

Ms. Lilly has 18 catches for 307 and ZERO TD's. ZERO.

Actually, I think this is misleading. It is just a small portion of what the Broncos say he owes them, so he may still have to fork over a bunch of cash.

It was just the first salvo.

How can he win? It was him who sat out, he had a contract and didnt fulfill it.

Yep, this was the small potatoes piece. He just got some back pay out of the Broncos. The $1mm fines and forfeited bonus money is still on the table. There's no way he's getting out of the fines, and I think Denver will get the bonus money, too.

He'd better fight for every nickel, he hasn't exactly done anything to give himself hope of that big free agent contract he was dreaming of.

Read the whole article. This is just the portion he says the Broncos forced him to sighn away on. There is still one more portion in which the Broncos are trying to recoup 3.3 million in fines and such. They will try to recoup at least 1 mil of that. So, hey, Broncos give up 220k and they get back over a mil....still in the Broncos favor!

Too bad an arbitrator can't make him into a #1 WR. That's the only way he'll get there.

Funny how we're ten weeks into the season and he still hasn't shown himself to be appreciably better than Roddy White and Michael Jenkins.

don't worry, the Broncos have been known to just toss around $8 million signing bonuses to former players;D

and there's always the redskins

Ashley's case (and I'm not arguing for it) is the Broncos traded him before the season. Any other player who reported for camp would of course kept his signing bonus in the event of the trade. But players don't get paid for camp, their contracted salary is doled out during the 17 weeks of the season. He hadn't defaulted on those weeks yet. It's weak, but that's what he going for.

I don't know what's sadder: Ashley trying to steal the money or that his 17 catches equal Kircus, Scheffler, Marshall and Jackson combined.

What's really sad is a guy who believes himself to be a #1 receiver has to be put up next to two rookies, a backup TE and a guy who was working at Subway a year ago to look good by comparison.

I think it's become fairly obvious why Lelie didn't want to compete with Walker for the #1 spot here.

With numbers like this, Atlanta should be the ones asking for their money back!:~ohyah!:

Ashley Lelie @ BAL—I usually group these clowns together but I’ve decided to single Lelie out this week since he’s the only one who actually dropped a touchdown pass that likely would have spelled the difference in Atlanta’s inexcusable Week 10 loss to the Browns. Did anyone really think the change of uniforms would turn him into a viable weapon? Wait. Don’t answer that. Just check out what Javon Walker’s doing in his stead for the Broncos. ‘Nuf said? Thought so. Moving on…

Who cares about arbitration, either way team is better off.

We have Al Davis handling all legal matters. No worries.

The only judge that mattered sent him packing.

I wounder if he can find a judge to make him a number 1 wideout.

I wonder if he can find a judge to make him a number 1 wideout.

That will depend on whether or not the judge "uses him right".
