I just looked at espn's power rankings. and I seriously wonder who they paid to write this.

there are exactly 2! teams ranked out of win/loss record order. the superbowl champion steelers and the sleeper superbowl before we realized they suck dolphins.
honestly, why have the little blurb besides the team pretending to do analysis?

The Broncos overcame three Jake Plummer interceptions to survive an upset-hungry Raiders squad 17-13 on Sunday in Oakland. The Broncos offense, which tallied 31 points in consecutive weeks leading up to last weekend's game, sputtered and stalled versus Oakland. Denver took a 14-13 lead on a fourth quarter 4th-and-goal touchdown pass to Kyle Johnson. On the gutsy play call, Johnson commented afterwards, "Coach Shanahan is a riverboat gambler. This time it came up in our favor." The Chargers come to Denver Sunday night for what should be the NFL's game of the week. The riverboat gambler may need to use some more of those tricks up his sleeve.

They escaped at Oakland and now play a key divisional game against the high-scoring Chargers. Jake Plummer remains way too inconsistent.

Well it was a media Poll and that is good enough to influence the college national Championship isn't it ???
Have to say that FO's numbers having two highly variant teams in the top ten is not that good for them and how the heck have the Eagles been so average in record when they are the number one DVOA and second least deviant team in the NFL? Weird year to analyze.

every year is weird to some extent, thats why its fun! to actually analyze that is, what espn does isnt analysis, its paying a chimp to recognize the base 10 number system.
remember last year when indy was like #6 or something after whomping teams? there's always something to look at, to use ur intelligence on.
and btw I think the eagles have a reasonably legit argument at being #1. but I guess hopefully after the sixteenth game we'll see(barring injuries).

I think PHI is much better than their record indicates as well, but they have not done enough to put teams away. NYG, TB, and NO were games they could have run away with and found a way to lose. Headscratcher!
CHI and JAX are the type of teams that can not go three games in a row versus good teams in the Playoffs to win it all IMHO. Unfortunately, the Broncos are in that category too at this point. They have not put together all three phases in a game yet. That pisses me off after nine games. They have done enough to compete for a playoff birth, but I hold no illusions of grandeur once the Playoffs come along if they do not keep improving every game.
