I'm not asking for a copy and paste, but i would like to know what the article is about.. anyone?

my guess is...

"The Chargers should line Parker up on the right side so that he is defended by Bailey, allowing McCardell to line up against Darrent Williams." Only problem is that McCardell is not, and never was, Reggie Wayne. And despite what most San Diegans think, Rivers is not, and never will be, Peyton Manning. Nice try, though.

Only problem is that McCardell is not, and never was, Reggie Wayne. And despite what most San Diegans think, Rivers is not, and never will be, Peyton Manning. Nice try, though.

I wish they stop using two similar receivers like Parker and Keenan everytime. It should be Parker with one of the taller receivers like Floyd or Jackson, and ditto with Keenan. Mix it up more.

I do a chat every Thursday on the ESPN SportsNation section of this Web site. Although I field a lot of posts in regards to my weekly articles, a high percentage of the questions have to do with other teams or players than were covered in the articles. Because of this, I thought it would be interesting to review more teams in each week's article. This week's article will focus on some AFC passing matchups for Week 11.

San Diego vs. Denver

The San Diego secondary was exposed last Sunday as the weak link that everyone thought it was coming into the season. This unit had started the year off well, but there were warning signs that all was not as well as it seemed. Take a look at the yards per attempt allowed by the Chargers in each game:

The first three games were dominant, but they came against three of the worst passing offenses in the NFL (at least at the time the games were played). Once the competition heated up, defensive coordinator Wade Phillips' secondary started showing its real talent level.

What this likely means is that the Chargers are going to have to win shootouts every week. Can they do it this week against a stingy Broncos defense? The key to answering that question might lie in who Denver cornerback Champ Bailey is assigned to cover. The reason I say this is because I ran Bailey's coverage metrics for the past two years against the Chargers. Here are his metrics for the times he was in single coverage against Keenan McCardell:

For whatever reason, Bailey has a lot of trouble covering Eric Parker. As crazy as this might sound, the key to this game could be if the Chargers are able to get Parker matched up against Bailey.

I doubt Parker's numbers were due to him beating Bailey.. it's possible, but really the only time Bailey covers just ONE guy is when we are up against a Top 5 receiver.. Owens, Moss, Harrison type guys... I think he covered Gates exclusively the year before last.

I think Floyd and Jackson are better weapons than anybody named Parker at WR in the AFCw and Kennan.

I think that Darrent can play against the best of them, well except Reggie Wayne but hey we all have bad days. There might be something with putting a tall reciever on him though. If that happens expect to see a healthy dose of Furgey and Lynch making those catches not so friendly.

Well, this guy only looks at numbers, and he never really makes comments that would indicate he knows much about football. I've read a bunch of his articles as an insider, and personally, I think they are interesting but easily dismissable due to the fact that the articles are entirely centered around numbers.

Just out of curiousity, how effective are your guys' nickel and dime packages? The Chargers have been running more spread formations, and even empty backfields recently. Is that something that Denver struggles with, or are we the only ones who have problems with it?

Ironically if Cincy had won, then Sandy Eggo would have three loses to teams with winning records.
