What is Jake's trade value, if any?
Where will Jake end up?
How will Shanny/Sundquist take the Skins to the cleaners again?
Are they satisfied with what they have at RDE, or will they make a run at Freeney if he isn't tagged?
Offense or defensive draft?

Front-runner McGee comes charging ahead of everybody know that it was actually he, who was saying it all along.
In reality, everybody knows that you're just a guy who is willing to flap your mouth if you can get some much needed confrontation out of the deal. Your real talent is identifying people who hold strong beliefs, and then formulating an argument so you can get the interaction. Your football analysis goes about as far as Jake Plummer pitching a used fabric softener sheet.

I still see you are mentally shook from me owning you. Its okay, I heard these types of beat downs takes years to recover from.
And calling me a front runner when I was the ONLY ONE who said Meadows (weeks before it happened) would take Foster's place is quite laughable.
You never ate your crow like a man, but you know I own you and that is all that matters.

There's no way the salary cap will accommodate Javon's bonus while keeping both Jake and Jay around. I don't think you have to worry about Jake hanging around for another year.

who's doubting Jay? I think he'll be great, or at least I hope he is. Some damn talented QB's have failed in the NFL.
I still think Jake is the better option this year though

I think Jay is going to be amazing but not starint right now...he needs time to learn and react, he needs a full ofseason with his WRs and atleast another year to learn the playbook. Then its time get him used to NFL game speed and we have our star but that is going to take time and growing pains alot like when Jake Plummer first arrived in Denver. Oh and if we dont have a strong running game to back him up you can be sure that we will be winning games on defense alone
Taco John
11-15-2006, 03:16 AM
There is nothing wrong with our running game that a quarterback who can read a defense wont fix. There is nothing that Jake is currently doing that Jay couldn't do better. The bar isn't that high for Jay right now. Plummer has set it pretty damned low.

LOL
Right. The prior 3 seasons where we had top running games weren't the barometer.
The barometer is the past couple of games, where we've had trouble running the ball, and the cause of that is the QB, who's been the same QB who was at the helm for the prior 3+ years of running game success.
So, let's re-cap...
Run the ball for over three years well with Plummer, the running game is good. Struggle in a few games this season, the running game is still good... Jake bad.
Got it.
Popps
11-15-2006, 04:55 AM
By the way, if anyone actually takes the time to watch the game a couple of times, they'd find that only two of our short runs in the first half were a result of Oakland stuffing the line. The rest of them were just their front 4 pushing our line around.
But, why mess with little details like factual information when you can just say something and MAKE it true.

It's simply amazing to me how the apologists seem to see a different game.
Plummer's Butt had ONE great drive to save the day, along with Coyer going postal, sending everything but the mascot and his dog after Walter.
If you think we are going anywhere winning by 4 points at home against Oakland, your all insane.
It's like if they sleepwalked thru the game, they didn't even see the highlights.
Plummer's Butt had 11 offensive plays and two picks before Javon made a Superman play for 39 yards with less than two minutes left in the first quarter.
I'm not saying Jay would win a SB for us, we have other holes, but if we aren't going to with Jake, why not bring the kid in...this isn't the first game of the year at this point. I see the chances of us winning the SB at no more than a very generous 8 percent.
Jay came in as a 4 year starter that carried a piss poor team on his back in the SEC, a conference arguably the meanest defenses in the NCAA, raced to training camp a few hours late, making good on his promise he wouldn't miss a day of camp, and has been involved albeit slightly, in 13 games and 14 weeks.
I'll say it again...every week he is soaking up more and more. He's a "half rookie" now.
Evidently we are condemed to simply watch the string ride out.

Actually, I did and you're full of crap. Just about 80% of the snaps they had they put at least 8 men in the box and on half of them there was a fifth man playing at the line. Also when you watch the defenders, on every down except third and long, the Raiders defense would play the run first and then rush the passer. The entire scheme was to shut down the run and force Jake into long yardage situations. It worked pretty well. Jake can't play well enough to losen up the coverage and the run game is being hurt by it. There were some cutbacks that both backs missed, but there isn't much you can hope for when they are overloading the box and our primary back is injured.

They used more than 4 down linemen 3 times in the first half. In the second half, they started cheating, and we exploited it with short passes.
I mean, you either watched the tape or you didn't. It's all there, plain to see.

Actually both were toungue in cheek/spoofs after he finally had ONE great game. Of course, your too thick to of realized it.
The first thread was a spoof of another thread of the same name after a mediocre game.
The second was basically to show that I will give credit where credit is due. Unfortunately, Jake followed up a great road victory by typically laying a turd, at HOME, against a vastly inferior team. I'll grant that Oakland's D is vastly better than that pathetically antiquated offense, but those picks and throws were simply mind boggling. Anything close to that kind of effort, we are going to get murdered Sunday night. Period.
I'm fine with admiting I was hoping Jake had broken thru a self imposed wall and would continue to build off a great game...unfortunately, Bad Jake is the predominant personality and quickly took back his strangle hold on any kind of common sense on the field.

The main topic of conversation will be whether to save Javon's option bonus and cut him or pay Jake for another year. Ha!
GonzoLays
11-17-2006, 11:42 AM
You know if Javon has like a 1300-1500 yard season, he might holdout because a 10 million dollar signing bonus is paltry for one of the best WRs in the game. He might not holdout, but knowing his history, he won't be happy with it. If he didn't sign his extention before he got traded, he would have made a lot more cash on the open market.
