Okay, we went to the hospital yesterday, stayed in the delivery room for four hours, and were sent home. Now, the doctor wants us to go back today. Susan is 39 weeks tomorrow, so I think this might be it. If she's still not dilated enough, I think they might still induce her, or do a C-Section (the baby looks pretty big - 10 pounds-ish).

Anyway, wish us luck. :)

Good luck Dom. Get some rest today. You and Susan will both need it. It will be a great night for you when it happens.

Okay, I'm kind of beat. She was born early Tuesday morning. 8 lbs. 14 oz & 20 inches. Her name is Lucy Camille. I'll put up some pictures when I pull them off the camera - I left it at the hospital.

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers, everyone!

Congrats Dom! I remember your concern when this first started. I'm happy everything turned out well. I'll be checking the papers and trying to guess who your family is.

Thanks, guys! I left the camera at the hospital again, so pictures are going to have to wait one more day.

She is a great baby. She literally has not cried once since she was born. Even when they gave her her first round of shots, she didn't flinch. She just snuggles up on my chest and sleeps. Just a perfect baby, so far. And she's beautiful, if I may say so myself.

I honestly can't remember a time in my life when I was happier than I've been today. Having my son at the hospital today and seeing how proud he was to have a little sister; knowing my wife is okay; seeing a pink, healthy baby. Life just doesn't get any better, I think.

When Lucy gets to watch her first Bronco SB sitting on her daddy's lap...life will get even better!

No kidding! And believe you me - we already have a bunch of Brainwash, er, Broncos outfits to get her started.

Congrats Dom. Remember, the engraving on the Shotgun Case is "Lucy's First date."

The second engraving is "If you mess with my girl, then the only question remaining is which caliber to use." ;D

Thanks - I'll make a note of that. I was just having a similar discussion with heydensmom. I can't even fathom the concept of boys being interested in her. I'm hoping my son puts on some serious girth between now and then - then I can just shrug my shoulders at the poor, badly beaten boys, and say, "What are you gonna do? The kid's got a temper."

Okay, we brought her home just a few minutes ago. Here are some pictures from today - she was a lot more swollen right after she was born.

Edit - the next post has the pictures, if you don't want to open the links.
