It sure seems to me that the NCAA method of replay is smoother and more correct than the hit or miss BS of the NFL.

Every play is subject to review from those with multiple cameras. It's faster and seems alot more reliable than the NFL nuthouse approach.

I don't know everything about it, I would guess they have a gang of three up there. I don't know. It's like the man or men behind the curtain. I have never seen anything on any show about the replay officials.

All I know is it seems more accurate and less time consuming than the pro game.

Why is a ref that just blew a call watching his bad call anyway in the NFL?

It's like asking O.J. Simpson to give a forensic report on his Bronco.

You could go back to Oregon-Oklahoma game when replay screwed the Sooners twice.

Replay is never going to be perfect. I just want it to be consistent. It should be "indisputable visual evidence" not "my best guess" or "cover our asses". If the replay is so obvious that the play has to change, change it. Otherwise, stick with the ruling on the field. What I hate is when they overturn on flimsy evidence or don't overturn when the evidence is obvious.

NCAA Instant Replay take the game for ransom. Too many games take wwaaaaayyyy too long because of their version of Instant Replay. Plus they "go to the booth" way to often. They delay the game on calls that aren't critical or game deciding. The NFL got it right by allowing only so many per team, and if you are wrong, you are penalized. The head coach will only use the challenge on critical plays, because he doesn't know if he might need it later on a more critical play. The NFL system is by no means perfect, but considering all the factors, the NFL instant replay gets it mostly right. But, hell, they've been doing it forever, so they should know what they are doing (or something like that).

NCAA should be able to have Instant Replay...

But, just NOT during OREGON GAMES!!!

haha wow that was ridiculous. the problem with the college review system is that the review officials are appointed by the home team and only do the games for said school. they need to be unbiased, otherwise, i prefer the college system. who cares if the game is a little longer if it is better. it is troublesome when plays arent overturned because of the definition of irrefutable is in question. case in point, tenn vs. LSU last week. the tenn player obviously touched the ball after the punt and it would have given LSU a touchdown and 14-0 lead but the contact was very miniscule so for whatever reason there wasnt "irrefutable" evidence even though everybody could see slight contact.

the replay today from oregon-SC took too long of course but most others are relatively efficient

yeah there were so many hilarious moments during that sequence. the reversal of the reversal(even the ref was holding backa laugh), the crowd reaction, the pete carroll reaction(dead silence into "this is all a joke, right?"), the announcer reaction and then the wondering whether pete carroll was going to challenge it again. the NCAA reaction will be very interesting.

I could get along fine if they dumped replay entirely.

I think there could be a happy medium. I do like that college can review any play. I think that, for time's sake, you could limit that to big plays. Scores, potential changes of possessions, 4th downs.

Of course, that is a fine line to walk as to what is a big play and what isn't. Especially as you get late into games.

But I'm not unhappy with the NFL's system.

I agree. It just slows down the game. Look at the FU during the USC/Oregon game last night. Was about a 20 minute delay and ended up with the same result as originally called.

You know what cracks me up? Players make mistakes all the time. Coaches blunder their way through entire gameplans some afternoons. All of that is chalked up to human error. The officials are expected to be perfect. Well, throw out the cameras, and hire and train full time refs and we'll have a much better overall product.

What are the big controversial plays that people remember anyway?

Drew Pearson's push off on Bobby Bryant wouldn't have qualified for a challenge.

The replay on Franco's Immaculate Reception would have been inconclusive.

Let's not even talk about Rob Lytle.......;)
