The candy apple red Cadillac XLR sports car that was seized from a drug dealer — but has the nickname of Tennessee Titans cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones embroidered on the leather seats — is being sold at auction on the Internet.

Bidding began Thursday through the Metro government's eBid auction site. Already, 27 bidders had rocketed the price up to $30,100 as of midday Friday.

"We've been doing online auctions since 2000, and we've never had this much interest in one item," said Kenneth Eads, manager of eBid.

"We've had yachts, Corvettes and other high-dollar items. But they have never touched the interest this one is getting."

More than 200 people traveled Thursday to eBid's offices at 1417 Murfreesboro Pike to gawk at the 2004 Roadster Convertible. Many were snapping photos with their cell phones as they circled the high-end car on display, Eads said.

A new XLR has a starting price of $77,000, according to the Cadillac Web site. Bidding ends Nov. 30. Anyone interested in viewing the car in person can visit the eBid office from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Eads said.

The Davidson County district attorney announced in April that the car was seized from Darryl Jerome Moore, an aspiring rap singer who was released in early 2005 from federal prison in California, where he served time on drug charges. The car was seized along with cocaine connected to Moore and his relatives, authorities said.

At the time of the announcement, county prosecutors said that Jones, the Titans' top 2005 draft pick, was acquainted with Moore, but cited no connection between Jones and any drug dealing. Jones has had minor brushes with the law since he came to town but has never been implicated in drug-related crimes here.

The proceeds of the sale of the Cadillac will go to the 20th Judicial District Drug Task Force, the agency that seized the vehicle, Eads said. •

I would love to buy that car...the wheels alone are 10K.

I'm sure it has all custom music as well. Nothing like announcing your presence.

That's what is so amusing.

Boy,,,the feds didn't waste any time auctioning it off.

Adam "Pacman" Jones is back with the Tennessee Titans. How long the cornerback sticks around remains to be seen.
The Titans suspended Jones for Sunday's 37-7 loss at Jacksonville as punishment for all of his off-field antics. He will be booked Nov. 17 for a misdemeanor charge of assault in his most recent incident, for allegedly spitting on a woman in a nightclub.

"Pac joined the team this morning," coach Jeff Fisher said Monday. "He participated in the shakeout. He joined the defense in the film review. He's back now and participating 100 percent with everything we do."

Andre Woolfolk replaced Jones at cornerback and the Jaguars picked on him early and often. Jones' teammates said after the loss that the cornerback was missed.

"To be 100 percent honest, there were plays out there I feel Pac would make ...," linebacker Keith Bulluck said. "But at the same time, Pac wasn't there. He wasn't there. I'm sure he sat home and watched the game and saw where his presence was missed."

Tight end Bo Scaife said Jones is such an electric player that the Titans definitely need him on the field. Jones intercepted his first NFL pass against Houston on Oct. 29 and returned a punt for a touchdown in that game.

"It'll be good to have him out there," Scaife said.

Fisher couldn't measure how much the Titans might have missed Jones.

"It's hard to say which one of those plays he would've made or whether they would've gone the other way. It's hard to say. He always has a chance for putting the ball in the end zone as a punt returner," Fisher said.

Loper Has Lacerated Spleen: Titans offensive lineman Daniel Loper will spend a second night in a Jacksonville hospital with a lacerated spleen but is improving enough that he may not need surgery, Fisher said.

"We expect him to return tomorrow afternoon sometime," Fisher said. "His condition is improving rapidly, and it doesn't appear at this time he's going to require surgery, which is really good news as far as that's concerned."

Team doctors diagnosed Loper as having problems with his spleen during the Titans' 37-7 loss at Jacksonville. Fisher said doctors X-rayed Loper and rushed him to the hospital before the game was over.

The Titans aren't sure how Loper was injured. But the second-year player is part of the Titans' wedge on kickoff returns, and Fisher said it was an injury associated with contact.

Assistant athletic trainer Don Moseley stayed with Loper in Jacksonville.

This team has had experience with players and lacerated spleens. Quarterback Billy Volek, who is in San Diego, suffered a lacerated spleen in his first NFL start on Dec. 14, 2003, against Buffalo. The symptoms worsened a day later, and he was admitted to a hospital.

How long Loper, a fifth-round draft pick last year, will need to recover isn't known.

"We still have to visit with the doctors," Fisher said. "He will be out at least several weeks, and it could be more than that. It really depends on how quickly things settle down and how quickly he heals up in the next few days."

Helping Hands: Running precise routes and catching passes will be a topic this week before, during and after practice after receivers had problems holding onto the ball in the loss to Jacksonville.

Scaife, who played with Vince Young at Texas, had five catches for a career-high 70 yards.

"It's our job as the O-line, skill players, all that stuff, to pick him up when stuff doesn't go right. I don't think we did a good job of that. Sometimes we dropped balls, stuff just didn't go right. We've got to go out and make plays for him and help him out," Scaife said.

Fisher said it seemed like each receiver took turns dropping passes Sunday.

"When the pockets collapsing and you need to be some place, you need to be some place because he's expecting you to be there," Fisher said. "If the route's run incorrectly, he anticipates something and lets the ball go."

Young nearly doubled his interception total with three against the Jaguars. He came in with four and had not been picked off since just before halftime by Indianapolis on Oct. 8 - a stretch of 10 quarters.

Maybe they can soon put together a pickup game. And be violent yet again.

Oh wait...Phillips is in jail...has to wait...

Maybe a Longest Yard Redux 3 for these clowns.

How do you Blow it like that...Blow...heh...

The Feds snatch 100 pounds of pure snow, 630K and I don't remember how many sacks of weed.

Heh...PacMan is sure to be focused with the Feds sniffing up his ass as I type. You know damn well they are trying to nail him with something. I know damn well they will be siezing his financial records unless he was smart enough to stash some money offshore.

I think he's way too stupid. They will have him under warrant within two weeks. Of course, I said that OJ would find the Killer(s) too.

Nice car...but I wonder what it smells like inside. Does the tiny DEA chick come with it? I bet she gets the good stuff.

That game was truly Elway at his best. I think he ran right out of a Singletary tackle on that play as well.

Eh...that car doesn't work for me. Porportions look off, like it's a melting ice cube or something. And what kind of southern fried bammer stuff are those wheels? Candy Apple n' Chrome? Cripes, someone tell "TackMan" you don't mix areas of color in chrome wheels. I guess the interior is silver, too (grab the sunglasses).

But I'm disappointed. I was hoping for something more conventional, like an acid green Mack Daddy Caddy with bumpa chrome, side horns, spoke wheels and whitewalls. Low Ridin' on 20 inch flats.

Looking hip and being hip aren't the same thing. http://scosoft.com/h/t/7ba9a36a.gif
