Just a reminder that Shannon Sharpe is signing Broncos DVDs today at the Best Buy in Littleton. Hopefully he'll bring some life back to the team today at practice!!

It was a complete joke...It started at 6, I arrived at around 3 and a line was already forming, I had purchased the DVD "The complete history of the Broncos" on Tuesday as the ad in the store said "get a autograph with the purchase of the DVD" They told me that all I had to do was bring the recipt with me to the store. I got in line probably 40th in, and waited...didn't mind it or the fact that I had to buy it at Best Buy for 30 bucks. Once the line was moving they announced that he would ONLY sign the DVD ???!!! WTF!! I can't hang a DVD on my wall, He turned little kids away that had jersey's or helmets, if you bought 10 DVD's you could get all of them personlized for everyone on your Christmas list but if you had a 8x10 or anything else you were shut out, I still went through the line and shook Shannon's hand I told him "I guess you won't sign my photo so do me a favor Sunday on the show" He said "What can I do?" I replied "When you guys start talking about Peyton Manning PLEASE call him Peyton Manrino." Everyone in earshot busted out laughing including Shannon who said "Nah, I can't do that he's the best thing going in the NFL right now." I told him "Maybe, but it will get Dan hot, and that look would be priceless."
Anyway back to the store, I didn't have Sharpe sign anything so I went right to the return desk and demanded my money back, they asked what was wrong and I told them the sign was misleading, I drove all the way from Springs twice, once to purchase it and again for the autograph never was I told or read on the sign right in front of the store that he would only be signing the DVD, I told them why not have him sign a bunch in a store room or something and just sell them? Why even have a signing? i can understand the fact you buy a DVD you get a autograph or you buy two you get two, but if you already spent your $30 you should be able to get whatever you want signed, they got a Manager over there and he tried to tell me since I opened it they wouldn't give me a return, I kept on him until they coughed up my $30, now I can go to Wal-Mart and buy it again for $16 and have enough for lunch at BW3's on Sat to watch my Buckeyes beat up on Northwestern.

Sharpe is an arrogant prick a times.

You should be able to get an autograph for your kid.

That arrogant prick turned away kids?

You paid 30 dollars for that? Who made Sharpe the hero of the Broncos?

I can't belive he just would sign the DVD not the case. They wanted it opened for the exact reason you had to raise hell.

Shapre to some kid..."Hey, where is the DVD case?"

You arrogant prick.

I just all respect for that tool.

So a kid stand in line and doesn't have a DVD and is shunned.

Lordie...I would of asked the prick how much it took to learn that he just lost all respect from me and hurt a child's feeling who stood in line.

Ass-Hole.

That's BS if true.

WTW...

Who made him the hero of the Broncos in the glory years?

I remember him bailing for a payday and wimpering back.

Well in Sharpe's defense he had "handlers" surrounding him, you had to give them your DVD for him to sign so he wouldn't come out looking like a prick. The handlers just kept telling me it was in the contract that he can only sign the DVD. So instead of a prick he was a corporate sock puppet with Best Buy's hand up his ass.
They allowed the slip cover of the DVD to be signed or the DVD itself, but once again, I can't hang a DVD case or a DVD on my wall, I may as well bought a toaster there and had him sign it.
Even more funny is the fact that Sharpe isn't even represented in the DVD, only a few stock footage clips of him catching a ball but other than that no mention, they talked about Mike Anderson, John Lynch and Plummer more than Sharpe, no 3 Amigo's either.
ps. They checked everyone in line to see if they had a recipt from Best Buy for the DVD and gave you a pink sticker per DVD, to make sure you didn't buy it from a cheaper store, they had the line wrap around a cash register so you could buy one before they ran out of them in order to get your autograph.

Get the hell off your soapbox.

You didn't just lose respect for Sharpe now, you did it when you referred to him by a racist slur a while back so your opinions on Sharpe count for less than nothing.

I'm not suprised at all he was just signing the DVD.

It sounds like it was treated very much like book signings authors do....you come to the book store, buy the new book, and the author signs it.

Best Buy sponsored it and they wanted to get people into the store to buy the DVD...I'd be willing to bet that somewhere down the line it said it was a "DVD signing."

I went to a book signing once with my wife and was suprised at how rigid the rules were.

No suprise here to me...none at all.
