Just wondering who is next up if Rod misses a game due to injury? Is it Kircus or baby T.O.?

Probably Kircus.

Marshall is a true weapon and mismatch, he'll be a starting WR next year. Kircus is a decent #3 in the slot for sure though, but Marshall should be the guy to take Rod's spot.

I also think it will be Marshal. They have slowly been involving him more and more. He had a great catch that was called back against Pitt. Kircus needs to stay as the #3. He is third on the Broncos in catching yards although like 5th or 6th in catches. Marshal could be huge since Walker will probably be doubled from here on out and Marshal could end up being a huge deep threat being singled up. I still want the TEs more involved in the passing game.

Shanahan has given Kircus more of an opportunity to get on the field. While Marshall COULD break out, advantage goes to Kircus.

Kircus is Rod's Backup, Marshall is Javon's according to the depth chart.

Is Rod expected to miss the Fade game? If he has to miss one that's the one to miss...they'd probably put a bounty on him ala Buddy Ryan or something...

I'd say it's a 3 ring Kircus if he can't go.

probably marshall, hes a nice mismatch against smaller corners

We should get a good dose of both of them. I'd expect a pretty even distribution. Sucks that Rod could miss any time... but these guys will get a chance to shine. Marshall has really been coming on.

Anyone think, if Rod is out, that Quincy Morgan is active and given a shot to prove his worth as a receiver? Not as number 2, but given a few reps.

Maybe we could just keep an unofficial talley of catches Rod made
when he was in a game.

Marshall and Kircus would both see time. All the discussion that went on before the season to figure out who the #3 WR would be turned out to be pointless as both have played in the 3 wide set as has Scheffler and Devoe. The thing is, we rotate or WR's like crazy anyway, so if Rod doesn't play I'm sure Kircus and Marshall will play and Devoe would likely be active.

As per the catch streak, if he's not active he wont lose it.

Since Marshall is my adopt-a-Bronco, I would love to see him start a game. Although, my first preference is to see Rod in there always.

I don't know, it seems like I was seeing a lot of Marshal before Rod was banged up. It could just be that I was looking for him but it seems like Marshal was getting more playing time that Kircus recently. If that's true then I think Marshal would get the nod. Also, I'd like to see Marshal as the #2 guy and Kircus as the #3 if Rod is going to miss games.

Unless Morgan knows the offense I doubt whether he'll get much receiving playing time. More likely Devoe or Clark will be used.

Its a games played streak. If he misses a game, it wont snap his catch streak, he's not playing.

I think Kircus and Marshall could easily replace Rod's raw-production if he was to miss a few games.

As much as I didn't care for all the hype, Kircus is better than any 3rd WR we've had for a while (Adams, Watts, etc). He can stretch the field and has shown reliable hands.

Marshall is NFL ready, as a physical talent. No question in my mind that he can chip-in a few catches here and there if Rod went down.

That's the way I see it along with 3 WR sets and 3 TE sets with 88 being split out as WR in motion.

I'm just shocked that we finally have depth at the reciever position... I remember back when rod played most of a season on 2 sprained ankles because of a lack of depth.

I wouldn't mind Champ playing 1 or 2 plays at WR again. How ya gonna guard he and Javon? Those are serious deep threats. :yayaya:

I think that Marshall is going to be a beast for us, but I think that Kircus would get the nod right now based on experience. I've liked seeing the talent that Marshall has flashed the last few weeks, and think he's destined for great things in Denver on the opposite side of Walker.

I hopeful about Marshall long term but the bottom line is neither will probably do much in Rod's absence. Plummer plays his best when he sticks to guys he's gelled with. Marshall and Kircus aren't on that list yet. They've combined for a total of seven catches. Fricking Darius Watts had 21 at the same point his rookie year.

Maybe one trick play...that would rock!

B Marsh would be my bet, or putting Kircus there and Marsh in the slot thus putting him on a LB would be a serious mismatch. Gotta love the depth we have, lets hope they step up for the challenge.

After seeing Marshalls catch that got called back against the steelers i am a definate believer. This kid is gonna be dy-no-mite for us.

Marshall's size and automatic mismatch trumps any experiance factor that Kircus brings due to the QB.

With Buckshot Jake at the helm, that size is very important. With the accurate lasers shot out of Cutler's cannon, I'd still take Marshall with his size. Kircus did make an extremely acrobatic catch on a ball thrown high and outside vs the Pats though that was key to a scoring drive, but I still would take Marshall who makes that catch with ease.

GO BRONCOS!!!

I vote Marshall

No on Champ playing offense.

I have to admit the end around Bailey had against the chiefs his first year was kick ass but he is too valuable on defense to possibly ever risk playing offense again...

It's a good opportunity to play both Kirkus and Marshall and to get some TE
play....that would give KC and SD some new wrinkles to prepare for the following weeks. The more the merrier.

Unfortunately we are still going to need the TE's to stay in and block again. IMO
