With wins over the 6-2 Ravens, 6-2 Patriots, 5-3 Chiefs, a close loss to the 8-0 Colts and a sweet revenge win against the defending champs, you have to like what you're seeing from the 2006 Broncos. I don't think any team out there has been tested nearly as much as ours. We still have some tough games left but our guys are showing some real grit man.

definitely - still a couple big games ahead, two SDs, @KC, cinci, and seattle. luckily we still have games against the bay area losers but other than those there are some toughies

You can make the argument that the toughest part of our schedule is behind us.

However, these next 3 games are absolutely huge.

If we can go 6-2 again, with at least a split aginst San Diego, probably a loss to the damn mullets, cuz the refs love KC at home against us, 12-4 would be great. Probably get us a 2 seed with the tiebreakers over Bal. and NE.Then let Martyball take Peyton out in the divisional...man, bad karma, bad karma.

OK. YAY 6-2!!! NO REPEAT OF '02!!!

That has never been our Superbowl.

We win it every year. Think Chiefs fans act like they have won the Superbowl when the offseason has rolled around?

I think Indy has had a pretty tough schedule, beating us and the Pats on the road back to back. Have to admit they are the team to beat in the AFC and that it will almost certainly be in the RCA Dome. While we would definitely be underdogs, we can win that game. And who knows, maybe they choke before the conference final like last year.

2nd seed in the conference is in our hands since we already have head to head wins over the Pats, Chiefs and Ravens. 7 and 1 over the next 8 games definitely gets us there. Some tough games with Chargers twice, KC on the road and you can't count out Cincinatti or Seattle (fortunately, both at home). Have to get the "gimme" games, Raiders, 49'ers, and Arizona.

Hate that we dropped the first game. Would have been much sweeter going into the second half of the season with only a close loss to the Colts.

Don't get me wrong...we enjoy wins over rivals.

But like I said...this happens year after year. Beating Denver in Arrowhead isn't anything new.

When a fanbase wins Superbowls it is pretty happy at years end. Not so with KC fans.

Just a great OM myth. Beating the Broncos is another day at the office.

Wrong. I was at the game in Arrowhead last year. I have been to a Super Bowl celebration and an AFC championship game victory and I had NEVER seen people as ecstatic as they were when they beat us at Arrowhead last year. I literally had to stop and just laugh to myself.

A lot of them have a bitterness/inferiority complex built deep inside them. Where it comes from, I really don't know.

Really looking back at our schedule, I'm really estatic at our record.
The teams we've played have a combined record of:
31 wins and 25 losses, which accounts for a 55% winning percentage. This has got to be one of the toughest schedules a team has, and what have we done? We have won them.
We've beat 2 teams leading their respective divisions, lost by a mere 3 points to an undeafeted Colts team, beat the defending Super Bowl champions who I think are a lot better than that 2-6 record indicates, beat a division rival KC team, barely lost to a decent St. Louis team on the road.
If we can pull of wins in the next 3 games, be 9-2 again, it will be awesome. Only 1 conference loss against us, We would be 5-0 in the division, with wins against Pats and Ravens. A 3-2 November would pit us at 12-4, and I will take that. Hopefully things go down like this.
Wouldn't mind seeing us go 14-2 though and Indy losing 3 games so we get HFA :)

I will put it this way. For Denver's sake I hope these things happen.

- The Chiefs offensive line loses all chemistry it has gained throughout the course of the season.

- Mike Solari loses the comfortable rhythm he has gotten as an OC.

- Damon Huard somehow reverts back to a QB who hasn't played in ages and is taking the reins of a team on its heels.

This offense under a new OC and HC has found its identity and rhythm after losing a HOF tackle...its QB and leader...

You barely beat a team on its heels after losing its franchise QB in your own house.

I have seen worse KC teams embarrass Bronco teams in Arrowhead. There are times where Denver literally looks like it forgot how to play football when stepping foot in KC.

It will be fun taking care of the annual KC\Den split.

5-3 right now with two games left against the Raiders and one win over the Chargers under our belt.

This will be fun down the stretch.

TheChamp24

I also want to add that looking at the Colts schedule, they could actually be 4-4 right now instead of 8-0. Just the way the ball bounces sometimes I guess.

I have no idea what you are talking when you say contest.

I do know your over used observation about the Colts could be applied to any team. The line between winning and losing in the NFL is quite small.

People wet themselves over the games in KC and SD, chalking them up as automatic losses, people overly concerned about the Brat Pack in Sincy, pfft.....I'm conceeding nothing. The Broncos are more than capable of sweeping both the Cheifs and Chargers and putting the final nail in the Bengals coffin. There's not a game left upon Denver's remaining schedule that isn't winnable...not one.....and as long as the nagging minor injuries don't start to mount up like they did in the Burgh, Denver should be able to run the table from here onto the playoffs.

KC's season ended when Lamar couldn't convince the rest of the NFL to expand the play-off scenario allowing more teams into the play-offs. We sweep KC easily this year.

The differnce between us and kc at kc isnt that great

2002: 37-34 Denver
2003: 23-24 kc
2004: 17-45 kc
2005: 27-31 kc
total: 104-134 kc... so 30 points over 4 years

So it looks like we have gotten into your endzone quite a few times .. now lets look what kc does at denver

2002: 31-24 Denver
2003: 45-27 Denver
2004: 34-24 Denver
2005: 30-10 Denver
total: 140-85 Denver ... so we have 65 points over you at our house

hmm ... i know this will be asking alot of a chief fan but do the math.

Looking at the remaining sched, we could win every single one of those games. The offense is picking up the slack for the defense now, and the execution should only get better as the season goes on. Barring injuries to key players, the Broncos should be right in the mix again this postseason with another shot at home field advantage. We have beaten NE and BAL, so all we really have to do is to beat SD once, Cincy, and KC. The other games we should see the Broncos as obvious favorites in.

6-2 at this point is excellent. Wins @NE and @Pitt were considered legitimate possible losses before the season. Combine those wins with wins over a solid 6-2 Baltimore team, a win over a decent 5-3 KC team, and you have what looks like a pretty impressive record against possibly the toughest opening sched in the NFL.

The problem with this, Zach.....is that you're pointing out plenty of examples where KC has improved throughout the season, and therefore your argument seems to be that "if Denver barely beat us when we weren't good, how could they beat us now that we've improved drastically?".....right?

Yet, you seem to ignore that most teams (yes, including Denver) have ALSO improved.....have you noticed our offense over the past 2 games? 31 point average. We put up 31 on a Pitt defense that is still regarded as one of the best in the league. Yet you guys folded against them 45-7......

Bottom line is, yes I agree that KC is a very solid team that has improved.....but so have we.

Definitely a great record through 8 games.

Injuries have hit at the worst time for us, but I still think we can finish strong with only 2 losses possibly 3 if the injuries are worse than I think they are.

honestly I don't see a loss on that schedule we have remaining

the chiefs will probably play us very close in their superbowl, don't let them fool you, they'd rather beat us late in the year than win a superbowl, b/c that is as close as it gets.

raiders will be tough, but they are probably about ready to throw in the towel, I think their O will find it hard to score more than 6 against us, and we should at least be able to put up 7 on them.

but again, if I predict us to win, we'll lose
so

we will go 0-8

I think what could be looked at as a promising and optimistic view is that we have yet to have a complete game from both sides of the ball. It's either been a great showing of Defense or the Offense. We haven't had one yet where both sides came to play. Hopefully, that's what is in store for us.

I remember an interesting stat that the Steelers have gained five more yards this season than the Colts on offense. To me, that means we have just played two juggernauts in a row. Barely losing to one of them and deffensivly dominainting the other. That in itself shows balance.

I expect it to be a good game of football...

But a good game of football that ends in a KC victory. Happy Thanksgiving!

That depends on which KC team turns up.
The one that lost at home to Cincy and got embarrassed by Pitt...
or the team beat up on the mighty 49ers and squeaked by a win over the Bolts?

Likewise, which Denver team arrives in KC?
The one that had no offense when it played KC and the Rams.....
or the team that went into NE won handily and beat Pitt in their house?

Both teams are on a roll, but have a problem in each other's house.
Denver has overcome some good defenses this year, even though its
offense has taken a while to get going. It is winning tough games it often
lost in past seasons, and I don't think the offense has begun to peak yet.

For a change, Broncos win at Arrowhead in a hard fought game.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Good thing for you our offense hasn't grown leaps and bounds since.

Or have they?

Could you say the same thing about Denvers O??? What happened to KC in Pitt??? Guess what 9-6 still is equal to a 45-7. They both are losses. Haven't you learned yet to throw first couple weeks out of the this is how this team is argument?? KC's O has improved and their D is still good and same argument goes for Den. Takes a couple weeks to see where the team is at. I have seen denver start off hot as can be a couple times only to limp into playoffs same as KC in 03. KC will be favored on Thanksgiving but Denver can win.
