Yea, i listened to him on Patrick. Good interview. Shanny said he would take Manning or Brady in a heartbeat for Qb. He also said the defense has been more consistent this year than the offense has and feels the defense will bounce back. Shanny is such a class act and the Broncos are lucky to have such a coach.

Unfortunately, the dickless board op screwed up and killed the feed two minutes into the interview. They restored audio in time for Dan's insipid Martin Sheen remark.

it makes for a much better interview when you talk about the guys that are actually playing.
what did you want to hear?
dan- so mike, did you think rookie jay cutler did and adequate job of standing all the way at the end of bench all by himself?
mike- yeah, im not sure why he was there by himself instead of standing behind me to get some airtime.
dan- how do you think he's performed thus far in the regular season?
mike- you know dan, the way he holds the clipboard is impressive. plus, the fitted ballcap looks much better on him than it did on vanpelt. theyre both young and unpolished, but the majority of people seem to think cutler is cuter. i dont have an opinion on that matter, but peggy agrees.
dan- youre 5-2 and have wins over 2 of the other top afc teams in baltimore and new england. despite a tough loss to indy, youre in good shape to make a playoff run that could include a bye. that said, jay cutler looked really good against 2nd and 3rd stringers on bad football teams back in the preseason. many fans want to see this kid get a chance now. what do you think?
mike- jake plummer looked even better in preseason. what does preseason have to do with anything?
dan- thats what your fans use to justify replacing plummer with the youngster.
mike- maybe rod was right about them.
dan- use your wondertwin powers-superman x-ray vision- nostradamus- punxsatawny phil powers and tell us all how your team would do if cutler was the starter?
mike- the wondertwins were lame, superman seemed kinda gay in his latest movie, notradamus was hardly ever right, and punxsatawny phil is a goddamn rodent. are you kidding? we've gone to the playoffs three straight years with jake. he's not perfect, but other than peyton manning against our defense no one is right?
dan- i guess. i just thought you'd be able to look in the crystal ball and be able to predict with complete certainty what kind of career cutler will have as well as when it will start. its what the REAL bronco fans wanna know.
mike- peggy thinks crystal balls are for sissies, and there's no room for one in our home. as for cutler, i know as much as you do. he's got a great arm, and he seems to be a good student of the game. i hope he'll be a great qb for this team at some point in the future.
for fvvkkks sake dan, can we talk about something else?
dan- your fans cant.
mike- im outta here. i have to prepare for a game this sunday. tell those fans and your media brethren to save the cutler questions for shirley maclaine.

I'm actually amused at the Plummer apologist's tenacity. They are as stubborn as the defenders of Okinowa.
Again...did Parcells announce he was going to put in Romo, or did it simply "happen" abruptly?
This is like Groundhog Day. Only difference is we haven't fallen to .500.
Yet. Another thing...yes, Shanahan could be a classic politicial shape-shifter right out of Star Trek.

Mike did a fantastic job of sidestepping the Cutler situation. Dan asked Mike if have young players or new players made the job more interesting and he just dwelled on Walker then stopped. Mike did say that the longer you coach it does get easier to change out players. (non of this exactly what was said but pretty much covers the most interesting parts.)

Classic fool post. Our team is a running team. We are not a passing team like the Colts. Nobody's saying Plummer was a god today. He played well enough to win, converting 3rd downs, running for first downs and a TD, and avoiding sacks. No ints, no almost ints.
Plummer's rating today, since you guys are so in love with high ratings: 104.2.
Thank god most Bronco fans aren't like half of the people here.

I also liked the one where Jennifer called Herb's bluff and agreed to go out with him. Then he couldn't handle it.

Hey don't steal my girl Hogan. Seriously, she's my all time 70's Natural Beauty.
I see all of these "Ginger or Maryann??" commercials, and other shows where they talk about your first TV love, and they never give Bailey Quarters any face time.
And it's a shame because she was the finest natural beauty of that era. So much finer than that pig Loni Anderson.
If I knew how to post photos I would. I married a girl who looked like her.

It's 12:45AM and I'm in my basement watching the 1976 AFC Championship on my TV. Stabler just flipped a TD to Warren Bankston; Errol Mann's kick makes it 17-7, before the half. Don't worry, I'm not going to the Dark Side; I just finally got a good version of this game. Raiders got so lucky that year.
The phantom Sugar Bear Hamilton Roughing the Passer call, and then no Bleier, Harris or Roy Gerela in the AFC Title game against Pittsburgh.
While watching this game I am posting about Jan Smithers!!
It's like a 30 year rewind here; I love it.

because if we dont play playoff defense, it wont matter who the qb is.
i know you "cutler homers" have a hard time grasping this, but im just a bronco fan.
when cutler starts, then ill be behind him 100%.
how is this hard to understand?
"Playoff defense" is the only reason we've had a playoff win to celebrate since #7 left town.
As a "Bronco fan" doesn't it bother you having a QB who you know, in your heart of hearts, can't get it done in the crunch. Especially when there is a kid sitting behind him who has shown that potential at every turn?

The first woman I fell in love with on television was Gail Fisher, who played Joe Mannix' secretary Peggy Fair (http://www.jmannix.net/peggy.htm).
I was probably about seven years old. I loved Mannix, but he was too thick skulled to move on her and TV wasn't ready for an interracial couple in 1971 anyway.

it makes for a much better interview when you talk about the guys that are actually playing.
what did you want to hear?
dan- so mike, did you think rookie jay cutler did and adequate job of standing all the way at the end of bench all by himself?
mike- yeah, im not sure why he was there by himself instead of standing behind me to get some airtime.
dan- how do you think he's performed thus far in the regular season?
mike- you know dan, the way he holds the clipboard is impressive. plus, the fitted ballcap looks much better on him than it did on vanpelt. theyre both young and unpolished, but the majority of people seem to think cutler is cuter. i dont have an opinion on that matter, but peggy agrees.
dan- youre 5-2 and have wins over 2 of the other top afc teams in baltimore and new england. despite a tough loss to indy, youre in good shape to make a playoff run that could include a bye. that said, jay cutler looked really good against 2nd and 3rd stringers on bad football teams back in the preseason. many fans want to see this kid get a chance now. what do you think?
mike- jake plummer looked even better in preseason. what does preseason have to do with anything?
dan- thats what your fans use to justify replacing plummer with the youngster.
mike- maybe rod was right about them.
dan- use your wondertwin powers-superman x-ray vision- nostradamus- punxsatawny phil powers and tell us all how your team would do if cutler was the starter?
mike- the wondertwins were lame, superman seemed kinda gay in his latest movie, notradamus was hardly ever right, and punxsatawny phil is a goddamn rodent. are you kidding? we've gone to the playoffs three straight years with jake. he's not perfect, but other than peyton manning against our defense no one is right?
dan- i guess. i just thought you'd be able to look in the crystal ball and be able to predict with complete certainty what kind of career cutler will have as well as when it will start. its what the REAL bronco fans wanna know.
mike- peggy thinks crystal balls are for sissies, and there's no room for one in our home. as for cutler, i know as much as you do. he's got a great arm, and he seems to be a good student of the game. i hope he'll be a great qb for this team at some point in the future.
for fvvkkks sake dan, can we talk about something else?
dan- your fans cant.
mike- im outta here. i have to prepare for a game this sunday. tell those fans and your media brethren to save the cutler questions for shirley maclaine.
and you wonder why you are so fun to get going. You never learn.

But I'm sick of this politically correct crap. Jake's gotta go. You think I want to waste a championship defense on this scrub? Lord knows, I tried. I thought I could make him somebody. What a joke! The boy's just too dumb...I can't even call my whole offense! And if any player doesn't like what I'm saying here, he can meet me outside the studio! I'll send his ass out of town in ten seconds!"
*Around the league, head coaches watch in amazement, wondering if Shanny is having Denny Green's breakdown all over again.*

Good choices here: Orange chicken, Triple Delight, Happy Family. The first one is obvious. Delight and Family give you big chunks of various veggies, meat, seafood and/or fish (wi/ white rice). Good stuff! It's a bit pricier than the plain noodle stuff, but worth it. And you usually get enough for at least two meals. :~ohyah!:

Speaking of Mannix, that reminded me of that show "Cannon". Remember that show? The guy was enormously fat, but we were supposed to believe he was an invincible karate ass-kicking guy. He could barely heave his ass out of his car. My Dad loved the show and since we had only one TV, it was that or homework. So I can say Cannon helped me become an educated man.

Cannon was great. He made jokes about his weight all the time and then had the amazing ability to actually chase down guys and KO them with one karate chop. Cannon and The Rockford Files were mandatory TV in my house back then, loved both shows.

Cannon always had that silver Lincoln-Continental, that's mostly why my Dad loved watching that show. He always wanted one. Once us kids were gone and stopped eating up his paychecks, he promptly bought the next best thing - a 1977 Thunderbird. And promptly wrecked it on his parade lap through Colorado. The parade lap was unfortunately in mid-winter.

I think at times the Broncos have a standing order, "Do not attempt to return a KO if you have to catch it in the end zone." I'm getting a little sick and tired of seeing Sapp running backward to the returner telling him to take a knee.
