Let's see...

Two Lombardis with the Salute.

One of the most gut-wrenching losses in the past few years with the hop.

I'll take the Salute.

They're both good. The last vestiges of the salute exited with Mike Anderson so If it's jumping into the stands now, then I'll take that. That's makes those ends zone tickets a bit more valuable too.

And don't get me wrong - the hop was okay. It's just not unique to the Broncos. It's acceptable, because Javon Walker had done before in Green Bay. But the Salute is the Broncos.

Thats the way i look at it but they need something completely new IMO so i guess we will see what happens.

Salute = Broncos.

The hop was good though, and really gets the crowd into things... I voted Salute, but I would like to see this one hang around if the Salute is well and truly dead.

While the "Hop" is cool and gets fans directly involved with the celebrating player, it is still and always will be a borrowed "Lambeau Leap". I'll stick with the classic "Salute" thank you.

Salute hands down. It not only repects our fans but our troops now.

Leave Flavor Clown crap at home. My boy Cecil was wanting that goal line driving driving driving...you can't carry three tacklers on your back for 10 yards. He almost carried it off.

Why did we only give him two carries? WTF is wrong with this team at times?

The kid's healthy finally and they give him two carries? I keep saying wait till he gets healthy. I'm so pissed. He was juiced up and would of driven a nail into them.

There were several bad coaching decisions.

The Mile High Hop? Nonsense. It's the gawd damned lambeau leap. They've been doing it for years in Green Bay. Recycled celebrations are not funny, and not fun.

The Mile High Salute was pretty good. I especially liked John Elway's awkward left handed salutes. So the guy wasn't much for choreography, but he could throw the hell out of a football.

My all time favorite celebrations are from my childhood when the players seemed larger than life. They were in this order:

1a.) Gerald Willhite's back flip. I always wanted him to score, so we could see gymnastics make it's way into the NFL. Willhite's flips were to the NFL what Kurt Thomas' Gymkata was to martial arts.

1b.) Sammy Winder's "Mississippi Mud Walk". To this day I have only owned one Donks jersey, and it was numero 23. I don't know if any athlete's celebration has really been able to capture the essence of their performance in their professional domain like the "Mud Walk".

2.) The Washington Redskins' "Fun Bunch" celebration. In today's NFL it'd draw a 15 yard penalty, but as a kid in the 80's I thought it was a pretty cool way for the offense to celebrate a touch down. It was simple...yet very inclusive.

I'm waiting for some showgoof in the league to do the TD celebration that Adam Corolla did on The Man Show years ago (when he was trying out for The Raiders, of all teams)...for those of you who don't know it, it went like this:

After scoring touchdown, pretend to squat down on toilet and read the newspaper, turning the pages a couple times. Then start to shake a little bit and drop the football behind your back so it looks like a big brown turd dropping from your butt.....wipe, then high-five teammates.

Eventually, it'll happen.

I'm beginning to hate what the sport is turning into. I should rephrase that. I'm beginning to hate what the crotchety old guard is turning this game into. Two weekends ago, I watched a player flaged for excessive celebration for diving into the endzone. That's all he did. He dove into the endzone. Ref threw a flag. Cost the team yardage on the extra point attempt and changed the dynamics of the game. Instead of being able to go for two, the team had to kick a PAT. Not the end of the world, but the game dynamics were changed. And for what reason?

Saw a similar thing happen in the Vanderbilt vs. FSU match-up that Cutler played in. Some kid catches a huge touchdown in a game where they're coming back against all odds, and does a little cha-cha-cha with his arms in celebration. Out comes the laundry, penalizing him, and once again taking away the option for a two-point conversion. They're ruining the game with this stuff. Let the kids celebrate.

The one that irritates me the most is the NFL rules that allow only one guy to celebrate. It took the entire team to move down the field, but once they get into the endzone, only one guy is allowed to be happy about it. For what reason? Some jughead in the league office thinks it detracts from the game to let there be "Fun Bunch" style celebrations.

It irritates me to know end how much fun they've sucked out of this game for no good reason. I can understand not allowing props. I can understand getting rid of throat slashes and the like that are meant to show up the other team. But a group of guys who just battled down the field should be allowed to celebrate as a team.

Yeah. You don't like players to show enthusiasm. I get that. You want the football players on your favorite team to echo the mannerisms of your favorite bands...a la...act bored. Why not? They've all been there before.

You're right on one score though...at some point some NFL player will lay a faux cleveland steamer. After all...there's the Charmin endorsement to consider.

You 100% right it is quickly becoming the NO FUN league

I'm still partial the the salute. But I wouldn't mind if someone resurrected the California Quake in some form or other.

Salute... best endzone celebration ever.

Quick, classy, and one of the greatest broncos ever did it...

have these idiots making the rules never played the game? Or has it just been so long, and they have become so obscenely anal that they don't remember how good it feels to score a touchdown, in one of the biggest leagues/sports in the world?

It's ridiculous, let the guys have some fun.

I agree with the group celebrations, but dopn't penalize a guy for making an awesome play and enjoying it.

- - And since everyone seems to hate "the hop", how would everyone feel to the team adopting Kyle Johnson's "ride em cowboy, gitty up, yee haw" dance??? :notworthy

Pretty soon if the No Fun League Continues on it's Path, we will all be playing Dead Madden 2010 NFL while the NFL had gone completely to pay per view.

Want to know why your cable bill is twenty bucks too high? Thanks sports salaries. You don't have to believe me.

The coup Murdoch made to keep his stranglehold over Direct TV Sunday ticket flys into the face of ever anti trust law ever made in the history of the USA and nothing has been done.
