It's kinda early for this, but I got this from a Vikings board and I thought it was worth sharing.
I don't know how accurate it is.....but I liked it. :)

I don't think they are. Look at the percentages they have to lock up the playoff spots. Our % is higher for #2 (not 3 like I had originally) then them, I take it that we are ranked above them that way.

They aren't, they have a 17% chance of being the second seed, while Denver has a 23% chance. New england has a 33% chance since they have superior overall record.

because it is easier for us to miss the playoffs with the chargers hanging around then it is for the ravens to miss the playoffs. So if you see the cart is in order of % not to make playoffs, and ravens will make it with thier weak division where as we have to fight with a tough division.
but if you look at % of getting ahigher seed we have higher %'s than them

they are ahead of us. They area virtual lock to be no worse than the #4 seed. Where we still have a dogfight on our hands to make playoffs, but we have a changce at a huigher seed than them.
This chart is all based off of current records and probablity through out the rest....it is highly doubtful Ravens DO NOT win thier division...they will win the division but not have a great record there for the 4th seed (45% chance)...but if we fauler a little there is a good chance we do not make playoffs deopending on who we lose too, but most likely we are in at either the #2 seed if we keep woinning but most likely the 5th seed if we drop a couple

thanks....I wasn't sure if they factored in division strength

it' not really strength of schedule as more it is where they currently are.
If things keep playing out Steelers and Browns are not catching the ravens, and the Bengals probabky wont either thats why Ravens have a higher probablity of making playoffs than we do.
Ravens have noone behind them as we have chargers with us and chiefs right behind us

if it is based on current records the ravens would be behind Denver. So this chart is assuming that Baltimore has a better record by the end of the season? The only way Baltimore could have a higher seed with an equal or worse record, is if they win their division and Denver doesn't. I'd be hard pressed to trust a forluma predicting the outcome of the next 9 games.

it is based off of current records but also division and probablity of winning thier divisionbut do you really think that baltimore is not going to win thier division????
also I agree we should be higher than ravens if things play out like they should but that is why we have a hugher % chance for the #2 seed than them.
this isn't a formlua to say who is tops right now...it is % to make playoffs and what seed. right now the Raven have a slightly better shot at playoffs than us based off of thier weak divison, but with our record we have a shot at a higher seed.....That's true and thats what the chart shows.

Okay, I can buy that. I personally have faith that denver wins the division, but anything can happen.

that's not really division strenght though, it's more than chargers have same record and chiefs are right behind, it just so happens they are in our division, that is why our chance at #3 or 4 seed is lower....they are pretty much saying if we win the division we will be the #2 seed, but if we do not win the divison we will more than likely be 5th seed.

Huge games this weekend...If Cincy beats Baltimore, and the Patsies lose to Colts, Broncos will be in a much better seat for the playoffs. Oh..and we need to beat Pitt too!!
