View Full Version : So, when Jake does leave, what's the best other NFL match for him?

Assuming he is gone, win or loss, what other NFL team might want him for a trade? (Leave out the high school, college and international football clubs!)

I guess I'm wondering if he has any chance of starting again...

For some reason, I'm just not that worried about it at this moment.

Oh yea... the Colts.

in all likelihood he will go bouncing around. tennessee is a possibility because of his mobility, anywhere where the other QB has speed. if atlanta gets rid of schaub, etc.

He'll be a Viking

Not likely, Slap. The man has more money than you, I'd imagine. He's not married, so his money is his own. Probaly owns a nice cabin up in Idaho and hs can afford to get away to Hawaii in the winter, and entertain a cheerleader or two.......

Ya, know, with as much hate for the man here, I am appreciative of his work in the community and with the charities. I hope all the jake-haters are able to separate the player from the man, because he has done some good thihg out there for Alheimer's groups (go ahead, make fun of that, and be a real clod), and others.

Just so you'll know: I am not an apologist for him and I am not a Jaybird. I am a Broncos fan. He is what he is so far this year.

i would really like to see him start again
and i would really like us to get some value
but it really looks like a forgone conclusion, even now.

The thought of Jake going to Chokeland where Al (swallows) Davis picks his brain (or whatever is left of it) makes me want to puke. Please, there's gotta be another way!

Cleveland or Minnesota in al likelihood.

Teams all know Jakes limitations, but the escapability and heart he brings to the table is what some team would love to add.

And who are the NY Titans?

I'm guessing either the Eagles, Vikings, or Ravens.

Green Bay. They're used to the INTs.

Detroit, with Droughns in the backfield. Not a bad combination knowing each other like they do.

I said Cleveland because Frye isn't the answer.

Um how does Droughns in Cleveland and Jake in Detroit help by knowing each other ???

I agree - Despite this year's issues, there are about 10 teams with worse QBs. I would put my money on Philly since McNabb will be out till very late next year and Ried's job may be on the line. Vikings, Lions and maybe even the Bears, where Grossman has gone in the tank the last few games.

Plummer and Griese on the same team? If that happens, you know the football gods have a sense of humor...

I was gonna say the Eagles or the Browns.

so is Jake relegated to backup status the rest of his career? Will he get to start? Would YOU start him?

Actually it would be perfect. They could have Brooks play on pocket options and Jake play on bootleg options. http://scosoft.com/s/q/5ce5c0c3.gif

I hope Jake takes the role of backup to Cutler, and stay where he is...

I didn't see Philly on that list, but that is my vote.
McNabb has been injured so many times he
might not want to come back, or may not be
able to.

His ideal fit, is in Houston, it reunites him with his former coordinator who made him into a good QB, and it is the same system

If he was willing to put in the hours, Gruden's system would be ideal for him.

This I agree with. Kubiak has already shown he's not adverse to pulling Carr out of there. Oakland is next in line and I'd think Plummer would like to go there but can you imagine Moss and Plummer trying to get along?

CFL or europe. he is not NFL material.

My vote is for Oakland...he is gonna stay on the left coast. He already has his money, he doesnt need the CFL or Europe...

69Bronco; So Cutler is your Christmas present, huh? I hope the rest of you Bronco fans already told him how gay that sounds...

Not a chance he goes to Oakland.....we don't make deals with them. Tampa is the best team for him right now. He want's to go to a place he can start, many of those teams have $$$$$$$$ in QB's at this point. Alot of things can happen before next year.......remember the Bucs like to pick up our old QB's. Deberg, Griese

Tampa, Cleveland, Minnesota, in that order.
