Poll coming

How anyone can think that losing your starting blind-side tackle is anything less than devastating is beyond me.

The OL will need a couple weeks to gel, but i think since we are such a deep team, Kuper will come in and play well.

Didn't like the poll options. It's somewhere between inconvenience and bad. Not season ending, but you'll notice and we'll struggle because of it.

Denver will miss the playoffs. It's a huge blow to an offense that was already struggling mightily.

I remember a couple of years ago when we lost Nalen(?). We were something like 6-2 at the time, and from there went 3-5 to finish the season 9-7 and out of the playoffs. If I could imagine our offense being any worse I'd say losing Lepsis was huge. But as we've already seen, this team lives and dies with the D. I think we wildcard our way to the divisional round no matter what happens with the O.

I think this is good and bad. The bad we can not afford anyone else to get hurt. The good might get Denver in gear to really bolster OL in 07.

You wish.

We could lean on our rushing game which even with stacked lines is near the top in the nfl or our also top notch defense.

Too bad you couldn't do the same.

Naw, Carlisle played left tackle and Kuper is a starter. I'd worry about your own team that has struggled just to get to .500 to this point.

You're going to start playing teams with offenses starting this weekend. You absolutely cannot expect to win those games 13-3 or even 17-7. You're going to have to win some of these games 24-21 or even, gasp, 30-27. Say, that score looks familiar.

Laugh, cry, go into a coughing hacking fit & die, I don't really care, loser.

"You will lose to Cleveland"..."You're going to get ass-raped by the Ravens" is about all anyone has to know about your ability to forcast anything football-related.

It's actually rather amusing. I have more correct picks in the Orange Mane pick'em than anyone else. My forecasting abilities are just fine...except when it comes to the Broncos.

Interestingly enough I think I picked Denver in those two games. I'm such a two-faced sonofab****. :~ohyah!:

EDIT: Yep. I picked Denver over Baltimore AND Kansas City. I guess my brain knows what's up, but on here my heart gets in the way.

The Boobster never fails to amaze me. Every week he seems to outdo himself. Lombardi was all about ball control and a cloud of snow. He would take shots down the field, but not until he wore the opposistion down and they cheated up in the box.

I can just barely remember Lombardi, but I know that he wasn't coaching Lance Allworth. He had a MVP reciever that was still drunk enough to unknowingly make a one handed catch in McGee.

Only the Boob could call a power sweep and explosive play. Because it worked for a TD in an early World Championship?

Lombardi came from the same school as Halas. As a supposed Chef fan, you should know it was Hank Stram that was the offensive minded coach, but I doubt your were more than a *edit incredibly rude insult here*

Look Bob, saying Lombardi was offensively minded is like saying Paris Hilton is an ultra conservative spokesperson for censorship and a Born Again.

Who's calling it explosive?

The difference between being a ball control offense and a shiatty offense can be as wide as the grand canyon.

Lombardi's Packers were top 10 in scoring EVERY YEAR.

I started a poll about this earlier this week... The results are that nobody seems to believe this will cost our offense much at all since we have nowhere to go but up.

I'll give you another lesson Junior...

Lombardi is also credited with introducing the concept of zone blocking to the NFL. In zone blocking the offensive line players block as a unit, instead of individually man-to-man, as was the norm up to that time. The running back then was expected to run toward any hole that was created. Lombardi referred to this as "running to daylight".

There were 16 teams. There were two divisions, it was before the merger. You would have to have a complete crap team not to finish in the top ten.

So what. Absolutely noone will tell you Lombardi was an offensive minded coach. Your an idiot.

You can change your post and say your mistaken, but no...you never accepted the fact I evicerated it, you simply make another, rather more reasonab supposition. You don't have a clue how the pre-modern NFL worked since you were sperm swiming around in some hillbilly.

Maybe if you watched some tape you could catch a clue. It's painfully obvious that HE WASNT and OFFENSIVE COACH. He was a DEFENSIVE coach that lured teams cup to the line. Not much different. than strategy today.

I doubt Billick would be proud of a team with a crappy defense, either. Saying Lombardi would be proud of the Broncos for winning 9-6 is a stretch. He wasn't opposed to good offense.

It will not change things a lotfor Jake, because teams wants Jake to stay in the pocket, if they rush the QB their is bigger chance of Jake escaping the pressure and moving the Offense with his legs.

On the other side, the RB will have a long day trying to run to the left side, and false start can become a problem due to new players on the OL.
