Irregardless how we all felt about Brian's tenure in Denver, his "Judy's House" project for children who have suffered the loss of a parent continues to do great work in Denver. Nice piece on Fox's PFP. Way to go Brian.

Rep - Griese was not a good QB for the Broncos and was not a good team mate, but he did do plenty of charity and other community work in Denver, even after he left.

I sometimes wonder if Brian's perceived difficulty in relating to some of his teammates wasn't directly linked to losing his mother at the age of 12. That had to be incredibly harsh. I'm sure his father did his best, but you're not necessarily going to gain the same insights into dealing with people with just a paternal influence. Especially when dad is this Super Bowl winning quarterback, known for his calm efficiency under a stern boss like Don Shula.
In any event, bless the guy for all his good works.

Funny you mentioned that as they said basically the same thing in the piece. That much of the "perceived aloofness" in Brian was a classic case of not having dealt with anger/grief issues as a child. Brian then went on to talk about how they were always in the spotlight in Florida and had to "maintain a stiff upper lip" approach to the whole thing. Was pretty interresting

SOB was in an impossible situation in Den. Replacing the Duke, but even worse was it was Bubbly's team, but Bubbly was too busy drinking beer and fishing at his Louisiana camp to memorize the play book, so SOB got the nod, and then he tore up the shoulder, and the Cap hits hurt the talent, plus Den didn't have front office settled.
I'm not sure he's really a jerk. Jake's more fun to watch though.
