TK is awesome IMO. I enjoy him. I don't enjoy Tirco much. Joe is Joe and I don't erally have an opinion on him. The dynamic between the three seems very awkward. I think the old play-by-play guy with TK and Joe would have been best.

I'll take the MNF crew for the SD vs Raiders game on opening weekend.

I like PTI.. but Kornholio as an MNF announcer just flat out sucks. Wilbon would possibly have been less irritating, I think...

And Tony, the vicious combover has got to go....

What?

Come on guys, Tony tells us about his fantasy team every night, and he makes analogies about other sports!

COME ON!!! What's not to love? ;)

My stance on Joe Theisman is softening, almost against my will. He plays along with Tony's mostly corny banter good naturedly, even though you can tell he would rather discuss the game.

I'll say this about Joe, you can't find any announcer who says more consistently nice things about the city of Denver or Bronco fans in general.

TK is there for color...he's not there to know a bunch about football. He's a funny guy and as the games have gone along he's become more and more comfortable

Cute kid.

Totally agree on the crew. It's just horrible, and I'm pretty tolerant of broadcasting crews, as I know it's not easy to have good chemistry. But, they're just embarrassing.... a dude blabbing about his fantasy football team in the middle of an NFL broadcast, then later... asks if the game is "over" if Baltimore scored a TD.

Tony's sheep comment was pretty fcuked up. But I can live with him. Like someone said earlier, it's Joe I can't stand!

I think Tony plays at being more ignorant than he is, so that he can get Theismann to explain things in more detail, so the viewers lacking in football knowledge will learn something.

Or he's a complete idiot . . . !!!

Heh...that has actually happened a couple times, a double knockout...Slappy would probably know the history...

What would be funniest if Joe took out Tirico then tried to turn on Cornholio and got cold cocked as he lays on into baldies jaw...all three go out for the season...

With our luck, we would wind up with Jim Rome, Steven A Douchebag, and Stewie Lazy Eye.

This is the biggest cake job in the NFL and we have another old man who is scared to fly on a jet plane and needs a bus... get some balls Cornholio...It's unnerving to fly a bit for me, but I tough it out. It's facinating to me still and I always want a window seat. It's not a huge risk taking experience...it's actually much more dangerous to bus around the country.

I like how Tony Kornheiser takes Joe Theisman to task.

A few weeks ago Theisman was going on and on about how a team was going for it on 4th down and how ballsy this was, that more teams need to do this.

They were just trying to draw the other team offsides, then they called a timeout and punted the ball.

Kornheiser mentioned to Theisman how that really worked 'going for it'.

Theisman just shut up.

It was great.

I really miss Maguire taking him to task...usually, Joe didn't even realize it it was so thinly veiled too.

I like them both, and I'd say that Tony K is everything that Dennis Miller was supposed to be.

I've never had a problem with Theismann. He gives good insight to the game, in my opinion.

Tony K has a lot of witty remarks that people can understand, unlike Dennis Miller. And Tony knows enough about football to make them work. I think he's working out great for ESPN.

Toreco is a bit bland for me. I never cared for him much. He doesn't bother me, but I wouldn't have a problem with him being replaced. I liked the play-by-play guy on Sunday night ESPN games. What happened to that guy?

I realy liked the broadcast when it was Jaws & Vermeil were 2 of the 3 guys. Just have to keep Dick in check during games against kc/ rams/philly, so he doesnt tear into an emotional flooding of the booth.
I think the crew now are getting a little more comfortable & easier to tolerate, as long as they dont pull out the FF card and pulling for their guys. To me thats uncalled for during any game by the broadcasters, calling out their FF players. Jmho. While Im at it, dont like when they bring their "guest" into the booth, who is someone, non related to football & discuss or plug their own interests.

I used to always listen to Kornheiser on the radio. He's great, not an idiot although he does seem to be playing one on MNF for the real idiot Theismann. I just wish they just unleash Tony and let Tony be Tony - which is a grumpy cranky, opinionated and loudmouthed orange dude.

I think TK is hilarious, he always calls out Joe on his idiotisms, and is just sarcastic in general. I actually don't mind Joe either, he jabbers too much making him say some stupid things that I'm sure he wouldn't speak aloud if he paused and thought for a second, but I think it's funny. I don't need these guys to tell me anything about the game, I see what's going on. I use these guys as entertainment between action. It's like watching the game with two more bickering drunk guys.

Everyone here knows I've always enjoyed Theisman. I find his insights on the game (especially the ones the other former-player analysts don't mention) enjoyable, and he can be pretty funny - especially when he doesn't mean to be.

This board is weird in that so many people hate so many announcers and act like they totally ruin any broadcast. I've only found a few that I really don't care for and I can generally tune them out if they get real bad.

I don't like that woman who does the college games. Is it sexist? Probably, but I don't care for her at all and it makes the game hard to watch.

I also couldn't stand that color analyst that the Cardinals had for that last pre-season game. He kept ripping on the Bronco players after they mad plays. Like Devoe catches his TD and he says "He really needs to work on his spike!" The announcer mentions Kircus' stats at Grand Valley State and the color analyst goes "Oh, so then he was a ball hog! He's just hogging the ball!" I mean what a rude, douche-bag thing to say!

I don't mind any of the regular boradcast groups, but I do gotta say that Kornheiser is pretty bad. You can tell he wants to talk about the Yankees all the time and I don't understand why you put someone who is totally ignorant to football in the booth to make comments on the game.

i like when Tony will call Joe out when he's making NO sense, but i'd rather them drop the whole group and let Jaw's and his crew have a chance. The problem is they want entertainers to draw a bigger crowd, and take for granted that us football fans will tune in no matter what.

I totally agree with you. It's a trip how people hate certain annoncers, and even certain networks. ESPN is hated, Michael Irvin is hated, and a lot of others. Are there any good announcers in to people around here? None of them get on my nerves enough for me to hate them. The only announcer that I've disliked was Randy Cross. Because he really said stuff that didn't make any sense.

The only other announcers that I don't care for are the local broadcast team. You know, the homers. I've heard the Chargers broad cast team a few times. Talk about homers. They are cheerleaders. It's annoying.

I grew up on Chick Hearns with the Lakers. He wasn't a cheerleader. He called out the team all the time. The guy was great.

Kornholer has already announced he will not be back next year. He does not like doing this gig and he hates to fly.

I think Theezman is the biggest POS on the air. He makes Michael Irvin look humble.

I think it's about time to replace Tony with a guy who knows something or two about football. My top two choices to be the replacement are; Sean Saulsbury and Michael Irvin.

I hate the way Theismann chimes in after a bad play with "That's not what I would have done." He then explains the right way even though it may contradict what he just said during the last quarter. He's annoying, and the only announcer that gets on my nerves.

I like PTI and don't mind Kornheiser on MNF because he does call out the idiot Thiesman. Theisman is painful to listen to because so much of the time he either says retarded things or takes his audience for retards.

Joe will say something like "the only way to gain yards is to run the ball or pass the ball" or "if your quarterback turns the ball over, and your runningback turns the ball over, and your defense allows 6 touchdown, you will probably lose" or "xxx is a great runningback because he scores a lot of touchdowns and gets good yardage". Really?!? Thanks.

The stupid thing is that Thiesman is not really a walking retard, he is a smart guy who plays a retard on TV. Check out the interview he gave during the 1982 strike, everything is different, words, diction, speaking manner. Weird.

At least Joe isn't still paired with Maguire and Mike Patrick. Remember the ESPN sunday night crew from the last 10+ years? They had to be the worst team of all time. Mike Patrick is horrible, and he should have his vocal cords removed just in case.

It is a real mystery how Tony who knows almost nothing about the NFL sounds more knowledgeable than Joe.

Both of them will be among the first to face a “firing squad” after the revolution.

I absolutely can't stand either of em. Tirico just seems to me like he should be doing Arkansas State vs. New Mexico State games as well as the LL World Series, Theisman has ALWAYS annoyed me, but not as much as that eastern elitist Bronco-Hating a-hole Kornheiser. The greatest team I have ever heard is Enberg, Simms, and Maguire. Maguire is the best color guy in the biz today, and Enberg is my favorite play be play guy ever. Simms is great too.

Thank God the Broncos only had one Monday Nighter and it was at home, so I got to be there and listen to Logan and Diaz-Infante.

Nantz and Simms are the best today, IMO.

I wish they'd bring back Enberg and Trumpy though, just for old school purposes.

So do I. Tony K (who, IMO, is there primarily just to pick up an extra check) is no McGuire...not by a long shot. Not that I mind Tony at all, I don't, but he's wayyyy out of his element in that booth. Painfully so.
