I thought Pears did an adequate job in relieve vs the Browns. I'm excited to see Kuper though. I believe this move has more to do with our running the ball than protecting Jake's blind side. Kuper is a bull that plows. Pears appears to be the better pass protector however. Looks like the plan (as everybody has guessed) is to run the ball early, often, and successfully! I LIKE IT!

You guys, this guy could have started for several teams this year without missing a hitch! IF this is true, and we have yet to see that it is, it will be great. I heard the Pears was going to take over at left tackle, so I assumed Kuper wasn't going to play. PLEASE BE TRUE!

Cooper is moving to left tackle. I know, doesn't make any sense since we kept two backup offensive tackles on the 53 man roster. They are worthless.

I guess they are moving Coop over and putting in the rook. I'm a bit surprised, but Dennison has done his job well so far. Dinger has to be the one to handle our idiot QB.

I really don't think this is true, and if it is, I think it's a mistake. Having 1 new lineman in the lineup is one thing, but moving Cooper over would mean we have two guys in new positions. that's a lot to ask on 1 week prep.

Pears has the wingspan to play tackle and that's not so much the case with Carlisle. Cooper Carlisle is playing vey well, but that could be a case against moving him. I do know this: Sooner or later Kuper is going to start.

The problem with Pears, supposedly, is that he is terrible in space. If you watched the Cleveland game, Anthonly Mckinley gave Pears two shadow moves and ran right past him without as much as Pears laying a hand on him. If Pears, once again supposedly, gets his hands on you, its over. But his problem is getting his feet set to where he can get his hands on the charging DE without holding him.

Think of Pears like this: If you were a basketball player and crossed over Pears, he would be left standing there like a statue. He is 6'8" and plays like it. He doesn't have quickness in space. But if you tried to backdown Pears or muscle him up, he would own you.

If Kuper really told his ex teammate that he is starting, and the word got out.... Will that put Kuper in the doghouse with the mastermind.... Shanny likes to keep things secret if possible.

I like this move, if it happens... I feel Cooper Carlisle is quick enough for Freeney, and probably would have more trouble with a bull rush type player. Kuper I think will be a great addition for the short yardage push up the middle. We will just have to wait and see.

I am actually going to expect, Kuper, Pears, and possibly even Meadows play during the game. I am expecting a lot of personell chenges during the game, simply to keep the line fresh, and to eventually go with whichever man has the hot hand.

Having played o-line in college, I can pretty much bet that they will not be rotating players in to keep them "fresh". It is not like a running back or d-line position where you need a wind here and there. Denver will stick with the starters for a majority of the game unless a player is really struggling.

My predicition is to have Pears and Cooper continue to play together. Although playing Kuper from UND would mean he has progressed a lot quicker than most Broncos lineman have in the past.

This move either shows a ton of confidence in Kuper or a huge lack of confidence in Pears.

It tells a lot about the status of Meadows as well.

Lynch is a GOD....heh...God works slowly (He was tired after working 24/6 and had to rest) but hits hard too. Get the word out...Lynch wants as much noise as possible to disrupt Manning's on the line adjustments.

Cowbells, Horns, Air Horns...screaming toddlers...Drunken Marines from Iraq on leave...crazy ex-wives screaming obsenities...anything you can bring...Police helecopters hovering 50 feet over Manning, bull horns telling him to cease and desist...Sky-diving police dogs with pieces of Manning's clothing in their mouths...

watermock
10-26-2006, 11:29 PM
Lynch was very diplomatic about the QB controversy as well. Everything he said was true...it's our job to fuss over Jake, not the lockerroom...I have no doubt Javon was pulled on the carpet for some of his comments, which makes it even odder he's going on Rome. Christ...you know that cretin is going to bait him. You don't wander into a pig's slop pit and expect to smell like perfume when you get home.

I'm not so sure this is a good move. Denver is now weakening two positions. I guess it all depends on how well Cooper plays at OT.

I think keeping Cooper at G and leaving Pears at T and give him a little help would be the best way to go. This seems a little risky. That's why Shanny gets paid the big bucks.

I understand the doubting and skepticism but I beileve that a mans word should be a reflection of his character and I continually try to make sure both are trustworthy.

I'm a student at UND and as of Tuesday night Kuper had told several former UND teammates that he was indeed starting on Sunday. Believe me or not that is who is playing on Sunday and I know Koop will not let Broncos Country down.

BigPlayShay just made me a montage of plays featuring Cooper Carlisle's time at left tackle. Let me just say that while Lepsis is better, he did pretty well. I still need to look at Pears' play in the Cleveland game again, but I'm thinking Carlisle might be a safer bet after all having played the position in the regular season already. There were some times he was late getting off the ball but overall I think if he moved over, with as good as Kuper is going to be, we wouldn't have any problems if we went that route.

Is practice closed during the regular season? If not you could take a look down and see who's taking the snaps at LT.

Am I right in thinking Adam Meadows is injured? He beat out Cornell Green for the main backup job in camp, so he must have done pretty well as Cornell was decent in relief duty last year. If Meadows was fit he would be a one-for-one replacement with Lepsis and we would have carried on without missing a beat.

I've heard Kuper has been outstanding so I'm pleased to see him in, but I am a little worried about seeing Carlisle move into the tackle position - its beena few years since he's played it and I don't remember him being too hot when he did - although to be fair he may well have been a rookie that year, so maybe a few years of experience have helped him.

Barry Ramey
10-27-2006, 05:58 AM
My guess it's probably Carlisle at LT and Kuper to RG. I think because it's Freeney, they want the most mobile and experienced linemen they can out there at LT. Meadows just hasn't played LT much at all in his career and probably isn't seen as an option there considering they kept Pears in the first place.

Playing Pears would be the easiest thing to do, but I think they have to be worrying about Freeney and the possibility of running around him. They could keep a TE or FB on that side most of the game to help him.

This is true. Mustard was a tackle until two of our tight ends got hurt this year and then they moved him bacak to TE. I'd really like to see Mustard replace Foster on the right side next year.

I think there is probably a lot of disinformation getting spread around just to keep the Colts on their toes.

I got a chance to watch Pears and his large frame and poor hip movements have me worried against a speed guy like Freeney. Even though he had no sacks he was very disruptive his last game and is getting closer to breaking out. We'll need someone with better feet to keep that guy off of Jake.
