About 10-12 inches so far at my house - expecting 18-24". Winds are high, travel almost impossible.

It's a GREAT day! ;)

I've been putting off raking leaves for a month...this might be my salvation.

The grass will have to eat the leaves to survive!

Grumbles...I might go over and chew them up...noone enjoys it but the kittens, my brother, and my son and GF...

It's all cool tho...I'm having trouble lighting the furnace...I might heat it electricly..it's basically a shack anyway...my offspring enjoy it tho, and that is very pleasing...my son goes there, my brother rests there, kittens camp there...it's used and worthwhile. I can go mow the lawn and rake some leaves. Hopefully a snow storm saves me. Heh...

It's just starting down here in Pueblo. Mostly windy and freezing drizzle, but it's supposed to get worse throughout the day, but we're not supposed to get slammed like everyone to the north. You guys should work on building a snowman to start at left tackle this Sunday. :wiggle:

We took a rope and drug a keg 5 blocks during the aftermath of the 82 Chirstmas Eve Bliizzard.

48 inches...then it went -20 for a week. Snow was up to the eve behind the house, 8 feet.

You're on National TV right now. CNN on Monument Hill showing the snow a blowin :)

In 1969 I think...there was a blizzard...BTW...Blizzard the word comes from my home town...It blew from the west...then the east, then the west, then the east...then the wind blew with 65 force wind for three days, and the temperature dropped to -30. We lost power but had a generator or might of died. a few did...

You don't have to believe this but it's true. We went out to dig out the Electra, and it was packed to the headliner as tight as ice...motor cavity same thing...This wasn't a cheap car...it was an Electra 455, basically a Caddy...We dug that out for a full two days. TWO DAYS.

It was so damn cold we couldn't work more than about half an hour. It was absurd.

Eventually we dug ourselves out. It was even more brutal than the Denver Blizzard of 82.

Both times in both Blizzards, the storm was followed with sub zero temparatures and wind.

Hasn't started yet down here. It's not supposed to start till some time this afternoon. We are only expecting 5 to 7 inches but with some heavy wind.

Some lady on the news says that this blizzard reminds her of the 97 blizzard in Colorado, and that got me thiking. That is good karma. Big blizzard in 1997 we went to the super bowl. Im hoping history repeats itself.

As was mentioned above, Colorado Springs and the Palmer divide is getting hammered. There was only wet roads at 6am and now they are icey, snowpacked and there's probably 8" where I live. The visibility is the real issue, the wind is howling right now. It's good to have a "home office" on days like today.

Not to mention, it is a 15 minute drive to the mountains from Bozeman! Five different mountain ranges merge into the Gallatin Valley, 7 ski resorts within an hour drive, national forrest everywhere, less than 40k people in the Bozeman area, shall I keep going?

I lived in GFunk for six years, that's not a good litmus test for Montucky! Of the Seven largest cities here I would rank that one sixth, only above Billings (that place is the armpit of Montana). Ranking the cities, I would have to go like this:

1. Bozeman (absolutely gorgeous, great atmosphere, freindly people, college town, 5 ski resorts within 1.5 hours)
1a. Missoula (again beautiful, freindly atmosphere, college town, ski resort)
3. Helena (beautiful, lots of recreation, ski resort, very quiet, conseravtive town, family oriented)
4. Kalispell (a bit touristy with the proximity to Glacier, a bit pretentious, people can be assholes in general, but it is gorgeous up there, but VERY dreary in the winter, always overcast and rainy/snowy)
5. Butte (Hick town, hung up on "the old days" have a toxic pit as a tourist attraction, fighting town, great St. Patty's day party though, only town in Montana that is ugly)
6. Gfunk (stinky due to the refinery, AF base there creates lots of problems for the social scene, have a long drive to any mountains, ALWAYS windy, people can =be dicks)
7. Billings (too large of a town, tries to be denver or seatlle, people are asses, stinky due to many refineries, traffic sucks ALWAYS, downtown area sucks)

Hercules Rockefeller
10-26-2006, 10:36 AM
Butte has got to come close as being one of the ugliest cities on Earth with that toxic "lake". Missoula and Kalispell were my favorite cities to go to.

Kathy Sabine was looking especially good tonight. Blizzards bring out the best in our hottest meteorologist.

Still sucked she wasn't in a bikini when SI did their weather girl swimsuit issue

The weather chick said it was 3 inches.;D

I have to quit running around naked in front of the TV when the weather chick is doing her thing. :wiggle:

doesn't sound like Denver rather outside of city limits to me. I was talking Denver.

It was between Parker and Elizabeth...Road 20

I went out with the snowblower around 3:30, drifts about 5 feet high. But then about 5:00 it cleared off, and should be beaiutiful the rest of the week. School (my wife is a teacher) is already cancelled tomorrow.

Strange, even after just one day, cabin fever starts to set in. ;)

Maybe, maybe not. But tomorrow's forecast, you ask? High of 81, sunny, 5-10 MPH winds.

I'll take it, candy a** or not!

I live in South Springs and am currently trapped, they reopened I-25 but the side streets are still trashed, spent most of the day without power. At least 18 inches here with drifts bigger than that. Sounds like it will all be gone fairly soon with the sun doing it's thing the next few days, but the rain that came before the snow is now black ice so the roads aren't the safest place to be even with the snow cleared.

mISERABLE HERE IN the oc. I wore shorts all day long but I had to shut the windows in my house around 8 Pm because of a little chill. Buurrrrrr! SNOW? Only if it is trucked in. See my avatar for example.

Mrs. Bum called me today and told me there was 12" expected in Denver. We leave Saturday for Aruba and I told her to expect 6-8" inches when we get there............. !Booya! :pimp:

Bum, if this is your first trip, I can recommend a few places to dine, see, do.....Just be sure to bring your life savings...the gas was about $7 a gallon when we were there in May.

Thanks for the offer TailgateNut. We head out early tomorrow morning. I'll check back later if you have info. We have 3 pages of do's and don'ts from people who have been there, that have passed their experiences on to us. I'm always willing to listen to more. Definitly planning on renting the jeep and doing the X-country trail thing.

I agree last night around 9 pm my open windows started letting in a lil cold air so I had to shut them. Gotta love that so calif weather, but at same time snow has it's uses. I heard you can make water out of it. You can slide around on it. You can wad it up and throw it at someone. You can add some food coloring and artificial flavoring and wala, a sno cone.

I have to admit though I love visiting my cousin in Colo. He lives in Colo Springs and works at the power plant you see driving from Peublo to the Springs. Not sure the name of it. He also has a cabin his Mom left him in Buela and we go up there and have a good time and drink. I like being in the warm weather but I also thought it was fun when I was in Colo and it snowed. I think Colorado seems like a lot of fun andif I had to move from California that is prob where I would head out to.
