I have seen a lot of Foster bashing lately. I visited training camp this year and watched him flop around like a freshly caught fish so I assumed he was playing bad but I haven’t heard his name called out to many times this season. I decided to break down every play for a single game Oakland. Not being an expert I decided to give pass or fail grade.

Pass = 2
Fail = 1

Here are the results:
Foster had 4/49 failing grades (8.2%)
The rest of the line had 11/196 (5.6%)

Fosters score was much better then I anticipated and in terms of the Oakland game the offensive line played lights out. The running game left a ton of yards on the field. Our badass blocking WR’s either had a bad day or they are sucking this year. Tatum missed at least three cutback plays when the backside was completely wide open.

Here are my drive charts and the grades.

Your numbers roughly compare to KC Joyner's success percentages for last year. Foster had the lowest percentage of the line, but it was still well above league average.

That was way too much work. It's just easier to start a thread saying "Foster sucks!"

Foster can do better. Realistically he should be able to move to LT...notice he's not being mentioned for that.

I fought on this board when Lepsis was being signed to move foster to LT. looks like it could happen sooner than I thought. I didn't think he was as bad a RT as everyone said. Thanks for the proof but chicks are cool, you should say hi to them & try to kiss them, etc...

No way he plays LT at the weight he's at now. I've always been concerned with his wierd knees ... they point inward sorta. I'm not sure he's really LT material, but IF [edit in caps] he's got the qwicks, but he'd STILL have to lose at least 25 lbs. But him sucking as a RT this year .... board myth.

If you listen to the tackles in the league it very hard for them to make the transition from one side to another, they have to relearn how the do things because everything is backwards. Remember it took Lepsis two full off-season to make the move. I rather keep Foster were he is comfortable then make move. I expect when all said and done, Pears will be the LT, and will get a lot of help from TEs, since they (TE) haven't been doing anything on the field they might well stay in and block.

BTW the rep to thread starter.

All the speed rushers line up on the LT. That was the only way Oakland beat Foster was to speed rush the outside.
