Ok, grab a cup of tea, coffee a beer a spliff - and read my ramblings....
A big part of me has a hard time finding out what is "real" with what goes on in the world today.
Part of me cannot watch the news without feeling as though i'm just being fed what they want me to consume. I can't watch news and see all this stuff and wonder "how much of this is actually real"? I mean without actually going there and being there - it's hard to tell from my point of view whose side of the story i'm being fed.
It frustrates me, but i also understand it's the nature of how this world is going. Being in IT - i can see how easy it is to forge a document, then strip the document out of all machine identifiers. So i can make this document and run it on a ****ty xerox and then photocopy that xerox and tell people some source gave this to me. (that's just an example, but i'm trying to show how elastic it seems anymore).
So when i see the news and they tell me of all these things going on in the world, how much is true? How much is not true? How much is a network/station's agenda influencing this? how do i know if the news segment i just watched isn't one of those bought & paid for by the W.H.? How do i know that all of the news i watch isn't some psyops just meant to sway my view or make me pick a side for some unseen benifactor's advertising dollars?
Why is it that i fear this republic's gov't more than i do a terrorist? Are they one in the same? If i don't 'believe' either one, i'm against 'them'. Where does it stop? Does it stop with me and you? Is there no stop, is it infinite?
How much does TV news play in shaping the worlds reality by showing people what 'reality is, because we say so'? If enough people believe that is the way the world is, does that make the world that way?
Why would i want to get married and have kids if it looks as though for the next (presumably) 20 years things are going to be real rocky? Should i bother buying into capitalism, or should i sell it? Who would buy it? ;)
Why is it that people don't see or care about the very core of this country being stripped away strand by strand, till lady liberty is standing in her naked glory - embarrased with the people she shone a light upon world wide - to this vastly corrupted perception of what we think America is, when in all due reality - it's what it was?
Why or what happened to make all of you buy into this damn need to identify with some "team" aspect for politics? Why or what made politics so important to you that "your team" is right no matter what? Why do you think your team has the answers?
