Turn to OT Welbourn fresh off the suspension list and exactly how bad is turleys back?

Offensive tackle John Welbourn, who was suspended for the six weeks of the season, will practice with the Chiefs next week, The Kansas City Star reported Wednesday. Welbourn has missed 10 games in two years for violating the NFL policy on performance-enhancing drugs. He retired in June but later asked for reinstatement and was suspended for six games this season. After sitting out a four-game suspension at the beginning of last season for the same reason, Welbourn wound up starting nine games for Kansas City and was an important part of a 10-6 season. The lineman is eligible to return Oct. 23, and the Chiefs will have a two-week commissioner's exemption to determine his physical status, The Star reported. The Chiefs could make use of an experienced lineman. The unexpected retirement of left tackle Willie Roaf on the eve of training camp tore another hole in their offensive line, which has long been a strength. Kyle Turley, signed to compete for the right tackle spot Welbourn vacated, was quickly switched to the left side. But Turley has struggled with a back injury. Welbourn will be working under a new head coach -- Herm Edwards this year replaced the retired Dick Vermeil. There might also be a concern about Welbourn's physical shape. He missed all of training camp and has not been practicing with the team. The Chiefs hold his rights for the next three years. The Associated Press contributed to this report

K.C. is done. We will finish them off Sunday.

I saw them last sunday...you guys will steamroll them.

Herm is one of the worst coaches in the NFL. He's good mugging for the camera but clueless on the sidelines.

Chef trolls occasionally still show up, bark like a minature poodle then scamper off. That's about it at this point.

Trust me, we see your ship on the horizon.

Didn't you just love that ping pong ball your safety displayed while trying to tackle Homeboy last sunday Bob?

actually, i think ced wilson pulled a 'nelson muntz' and went out of his way to knock down that defenseless (get the pun?) chiefs player before getting in for six...

Turley's back to practice this week.

We told you over an over this summer that his back was questionable while you were homering him up.

Sometimes I feel like Notradamus around here when it comes to the Chiefs. He'll miss more games this season because of his back. It's a structural issue and will haunt him for the rest of his playing days.

KC will still give the Chuggers a good game. Their D is improved (albeit not much) but this will be the 3rd best team the Chargers have played this year.

I would like us to steamroll them as well, but for the oddest reasons we always play bad against Herm Edwards. I get the strangest feeling that it could end up being like the Jets game last year where we were leading by 20 points at half time and they manage to come back to within one pass of beating us. Heck stranger things have happened. The NFL is one big contradiction sometimes.
Anyways, things that could keep this game close is the fact that it's a division game, their defense looks better just inconsistent, and the fact that we play them at their home. The fact that they just came off of a tough loss is another thing that could swing in their favor. After all, that defense of theirs did reall well against you guys after that loss to the Bengals.

Remember when Bob told us the offensive line would be ok because "this year they'll be ready." Still eating the cheeze-doodles. Personally I think the line is above average but Larrry Johnson is getting run down.

I was wrong about the offensive line. It's amazing how it's completely fallen off. Green's injury really compounds it, too, because teams just stuff the box.

I'll be shocked if Larry gets 100 yards against San Diego.

I think the Chiefs will beat the Chargers Sunday. Rivers hasn't played in Arrowhead yet has he? For some reason the Chiefs usually play good football and are tough at Arrowhead. Young QB's normally don't do well there. I can see the Chiefs rebounding and playing the Chargers tough enough to get a win over them Sunday.

I'd say the Brownies have a better chance than KC of notching on a win this weekend. :)

I remember saying the same kinda stuff when Marty was our coach. The difference is, now I can laugh about it.

You were wrong about Larry Johnson, the Red Knight, Jarrod Page, and Bonecrusher too. They were lit up like a Christmas tree last weekend.

Unless Marty slaps the handcuffs back on, SD will get ahead early and then football fans will get to see some nice highlight material as Huard and Croyle drop back again and again with a crap O line vs the NFL's nastiest front 7.

Well I'm not a player or a coach. Marty hardly ever suffers from overconfidence. He's got the opposite problem, if anything, although I doubt it will show against you clowns.:clown:

listening to Chefs get pounded so I wouldn't have anything against a repeat performance...........

Mainly because our players were hung over from kicking Indy's ass the week before, and our making the post season depended on Pittsburgh losing to some crappy teams. That was then, and this is now, and right now your team is heading for a huge embarassing failure at home.
