Talked to my Brother in Colorado tonight. He said he was watching Broncos replay and the commentators who host the show(don't remember the names)
were talking about how its not a big secret among Bronco insiders that Shanahan has NO confidence in Jake anymore. Therefore he is throttling him back bigtime. My take is this. If this is true then why is he even wasting time w/ Jake anymore. Even a rookie could execute the gameplan(as was posted in another thread) if it is that conservative. Don't get me wrong. I would rather see Jake as the QB for the short term but............ if we have and offense as conservative as this for the sake of Jake's mistakes, we might as well be playing Cutler and giving him some valuable game experience. I don't think we could do any worse on offense than we are doing now.

Sunday would be a great time to find out, right Sassy. Right in front of all us Broncomaniacs full of great food and beer in Browns Stadium. See ya there.

There are already some grumblings from some of the players. If Jake loses his backing in the lockerroom, that is when his job is truely in jeopardy. I'm not hoping for it, but to me, the signs point to shanny slowly selling the team on the drawbacks of Plummer and the merits of Cutler.
again, I'm not calling for that, but I wouldn't put it past shanny.

That's where I'm coming from. Put the ball in Jake's hands and let him decide things. If he fails let him fail by his own hand and not by the noose of a worried coach.

That makes sense...and more sense to do it in Cleveland and not against Indy or Pitt.

Maybe Shanahan is just buying as much time as Jake and the awesome defense can buy him before making the change? I don't think you can bring Cutler in as a game managing QB who you'll try converting into a gamebreaker over the off-season. You go full speed ahead as soon as Cutler steps behind center.
To that end you want to get him as much time to prepare and learn our complex offensive scheme before doing that. Ideally Jake puts it together and leads us back to the playoffs this year, giving him off-season trade value. But if we start to lose games because we can't implement a legitimate offensive gameplan with Jake at QB then we'll make the change early, but until then it'll be Jake and the no mistakes allowed offense.
