It started snowing out here in Englewood about an hour after I got to work and it's been steady all day.
I wonder if it's been falling out in Saudi Aurora.

Try northwest Iowa on for size. We have a backup power plant. The word Blizzard was hatched in this very town. We get white outs that you can't see a foot in front of you in the car. You have no clue where you are unless you feel the shoulder.

looks like 4-8 inches additional at my house (we're at 6700 feet) and there's already a few inches on the ground.
nothing too crazy, except for the fact that the first snow is always kinda scary with all the dipsticks that moved here from california out driving in snow for the 1st time and either going 6 miles an hour or going 80 because they think 4x4 means you dont need to slow down!!

About an inch on the grass in the Tech Center area. Three inches and slick as snot in Evergreen. Supposed to get up to 18" in the area of the state with the big ski areas. Our mountian place will probably only get an inch or two as we have close 14ers to the north and west and not so close to the south. Only time we get much snow is when it backs in from the east.

Back in the day, I remember wearing shorts even during practice in the snow at CU. What cracks me up is seeing all the SoCal'ers put on their heavy jackets in January when its 58 degrees outside. Wimps!
I do admit, I used to love that first snow in Colorado. Right up until we would find out it wasnt enough to cancel school. Rotten scoundral bastard school districts!

Damn, Mock..they have these things called Hardtops now...rollup windows and even heaters in the cars.
Next time youré cruisin through the Sears catalog look under Automotive accessories. They'll probably have a picture of one.
Smart idea to keep a girl or two in the buggy with you to keep your hands warm and to remember where the side of the buggy is...

Did I say I was driving a convertible, asswipe? STFU. I have owned two 5.0's and they are more trouble than they are worth honestly. Too cold in Iowa, too hot in Florida. Good for Colorado if you don't venture into the mountains with those tires.
I had the wind literally sweep me off the road in that damn thing. Complete 180 into the shoulder on ice. Just blew me off. We have ice here you wouldn't believe.

Amen! They are clueless in those 4x4's. They are what make driving in the snow treacherous. You guys must have gotten what came through here yesterday, but we didn't get snow. Just a couple of flakes today that you had to strain to see. Kills me some of those places back east that close down everything for an inch of the stuff.
I love the variety of the seasons. Love the lake effect snows, fires in the fireplace, coffee with Bailey's Irish Creme, snuggling under the covers and SKIING!!!!!!

You CO people can have your snow and ice. You CA people can have your crappy freeways. I'll take what I've got. Lows in the 50's at night. Highs in the high 70's, low 80's during the day. Beautiful and sunny with a few fluffy clouds here and there. And no crappy freeway system! Welcome to Tucson, AZ, people.
