So I heard that Arizona is looking to deal Leonard Davis, former number 1 draft pick.

I don't know what we would need to do to compensate Arizona for him and I know he is in the last year of his contract so we would need to renegotiate... he is the ideal candidate for our right tackle position. I'm watching him every play tonight and so far, I love what he could do for our running game. He is not as quick off the ball but he isn't any worse than Foster. Plus with Davis, he could play guard as well. He gives us a lot of options.

Point being? As much as I think Jake can be blamed for some of our offensive woes, our OL is nowhere near what it was back during our super bowl years.

I just watched Davis blow a #96 about 5 yards off the ball on a run play. CLEARLY he would help get Tatum some massiver room in the running game.

Maybe I'm crazy. I would take him right now over trading for Simeon Rice though.

A 2nd rounder for Davis if we could renegotiate a contract for him? I would do it.

I'll pass. I actually think he to big and isn't mobile enough for the zone blocking scheme. Plus I think I read that he doesn't have greatest self motivation when comes to workouts and get "lazy" in his block later in games.

Hell no! Leonard Davis is not a tackle! He's an interior player, and only an adequate one at that.

Foster is a better player than Davis...I feel very comfortable making that statement.

And, to me, it's very telling that Arizona (a team with perhaps the worst group of starting OL in the league) has absolutely no reported interest in re-signing Davis at the end of the year...at any cost.

Pass.

Thats pretty good right now... of course as an offensive linemen, you need to be good over the whole game.

Positive: He is a huge. He can anchor on the LOS for pass plays and he can drive people off the ball on run plays. It will be hard to find anybody who is stronger or bigger than him. Seems to me like he plays hard. His movement is effortless. Once he gets his hands on a defender, it is over.

Negative: He would be better and I don't think he would lose much strength if he lost some weight. His footwork solid, not great.

For what it's worth, I heard an interview of his this summer and he said he really hated having to cut block. He just isn't very good at it and would rather not do it. I'm paraphrasing but that was the gist of what he was saying. I don't think he would fit well into our system.

Trading one under-acheiver (foster) for another with probably a bigger contract most likely wont help us much. I think we need to find a guy to take fosters spot but not sure who yet. I also think Cooper still sucks and would like an upgrade at RG.

For every 1 good game he has 2 bad, bad games. No thanks.
