Because we want to be like Israel and Thailand? More knee-jerk reactions from our political leaders.

Well, don't think we need to take it that far, however, if I was a teacher I'd be blueprinting my students a little closer..dman

On that note, my youngest son and I are off to shoot off some rounds with an AR 15 tonight. He's never shot one and is pretty excited about it..nice little weapon...dman

Maybe we need to start hiring more ex-marines and black belts as teachers. And give them pepper spray and tazers. Seriously, who would want to infiltrate a school full of ex-marines and black belts armed with tazers? Or, at the very least, have regular training for handling these types of situations, since they seem to be a pretty common occurrence now.

Yep, it's amazing how much fun both my sons have shooting their weapon of choice. They are both pretty good shots, and very safe, which is also very important. Good times for sure...dman

Troops to Teachers. Program the government backs to help out the schools. Not for the reasons you listed, but, it would probably be an unrealized benefit in case of emergency I would guess. I've been approached to engage in this program, however right now I am probably going to decline...dman
