Its early and with Bush and Brohm out with injuries it seems like it could be anyones to win. Front runners would have to be Troy Smith and Adrian Peterson. As for my dark horse its my man Zac Taylor. So college football fans make your case.

Zac Taylor leads the one loss Huskers. As of now he is 4th in the NCAA in rating (180) and completing 63.9% of his passes. 1,267 yards lands him in the top 15 and he is tied for 10th in TD passes as well (12 to only 2 ints). If people will vote for the one loss Quinn then my man Taylor should get some love as well. I mean Taylor doesn't have one of the best college WRs to pass too like Quinn.

Adrian Peterson is my pick. But the Heisman is a popularity contest so Smith will most likely get it.

Sorry DB, but Taylor is not even on the radar. It is a one man race right now with Troy Smith the shoe in. If OSU should lose a couple of games, Quinn could get back in it if ND beats USC (fat chance). Peterson is possible if he stays healthy and the running back from NIU is the dark horse.

yeah, I love Zac but he doesn't put up the numbers or get the attention needed to win a Heisman. Troy Smith is the clear frontrunner, but if Adrian puts up a couple big games (maybe against Texas?) he should get serious consideration.

thats why hes my dark horse. His numbers are as good as Smith's though. Taylor HAS to beat Texas this year to even get people to notice him.

If Taylor garners attention then so does Palko, Russell, Longshore and so on.

Garrett Wolfe, RB, Northern Illinois

156 carries for 1343 yards so far with 13 TDs

That is 8.6 ypc on the season.

Toss in 13 catches for 162 yards and 1 TD.

Against the Buckeyes, he had 171 rushing and 114 receiving.

With 6 games left he could be looking at 2500 yards rushing.

Great dark horse candidate. He should et invited to NYC, but I think he'll get the Troy Davis treatment by the voters.

Its Troy Smith's to lose at this point. Here is a question though, last year all we heard was about Bush's total yard from scrimage. Why isn't AD given the same evaluation ?

How is your o-line? I haven't really paid much attention to it. You better hope they are good or Taylor will be in for a long day when Texas comes to town.

It's improving and Taylor is pretty mobile.
