8 (8) Broncos 2-1-0 Coming off a bye the Broncos should be well rested for Monday night's showdown with the Ravens. Which is a good thing going against Baltimore's defense.

9 (5) Chargers 2-1-0 At this point, Marty Schottenheimer sort of is what he is. But when the Chargers lose a game like that, the 'Martyball' critics are going to come out in full force.

22 (24) Chiefs 1-2-0 Yes, they've only played three games, but the Chiefs have the No. 3 overall defense in the NFL. That's pretty good no matter who you play.

32 (32) Raiders 0-3-0 One catch for five yards? Randy Moss is going to blow soon in Oakland.

So let's say the broncos beat the Ravens handily and the Pats struggle against Miami they should still be ahead of the broncos because 4>3? Never mind the fact they lost AT HOME to the broncos.

OTOH Fox Sports bumped the Broncos up 4 places, in part because
of how the Patriots played Sunday.

This made me chuckle.....From FOX

Chiefs-

Damon Huard had the best game of his pro career on Sunday. What’d he have to say afterward? Well, what any team player would: “What a great offensive line. There are so many guys that make my job easy. And our defense — are you kidding me?” The Chiefs looked good in their 41-0 romp of San Fran. Then again, it was against the Niners. Ross, Repete, and the rest of the kids from Hoover High could beat San Fran this year.

Is it possible Prisco did the best job? Looks it to me.... based on level of competition and most recent evidence.

This is what cracks me up about these clowns. They go on and on about how they love us to be underestimated but then start crying about power rankings.

Does it really matter if Denver is first or dead last in some website's power rankings? The only rankings/standings that I care about is the AFC West where as of right now Denver is in first holding the tie breaker over SD.

How in the hell is New England ranked higher than a team that had Tom Brady crying and screaming like a little girl when his offense was sputtering against our Defense.
Also, how can they go from being unranked in the top 12 to being number 4 in the rankings?

When will the league and sports writers across the league stop blowing the Patriots, Brady and Belichick and start seeing them for what they are, which is a descent team in a really shi tty division.

Taco said we were too high but I asked him to name one team below us that has shown they had fewer weaknesses than we did.

He couldnt.

3-10 is a crapshoot in my opinion.

Who is crying you ****ing retard?

We are discussing the power rankings because they give someones opinion on who is the best and hwo they rank.

We are disagreeing that New England should be ranked higher in anyone's opinion based on teh shellacking we gave New England in their own house.

So, tell me again ****tard, who is crying?

Obviously you. You jerkoffs always say it doesnt matter if Denver is overlooked and underrated yet here you are whining about the Pats being ahead of us. Who gives a ****? we beat them in their backyard and thats all that matters to me. And that should be all that matters to you. Who gives a **** if the media sees it otherwise? Seriously. Now go have a milk and some cookies and smile already.

I don't really care if Denver is overrated, but I care less about the rankings. I don't complain about them, I just don't understand the logic of having the Pats better than Denver.

I'm with Anubis on this one. It doesn't mean anything if internet writers have New Englad or any other team ahead of Denver on a power ranking. Yes a little bit of recognition would be nice, but as long as the Broncos get a W I could care less where they put of on their list.

To be honest our offense hasn't looked great so far and remember according to all media we didn't be the Pats, they lost so many key players, were upset about deion branch and just destroyed the Bengals two days ago so that is probably why the Pats are ahead in the power polls.

They can be ahead of Denver all year long in the polls, but if they end up with the same record and a playoff spot is in the balance guess who will own the tie breaker. That's all that means something to me.

I don't understand why. I mean without Branch he is being shown that he is just an average QB in a piss poor division. Any other division in the league and he leads the Pats to an 8-8 record at best.

I don't care about poewr rankings either - but I couldn't help noticing that although there is some shuffle and disagreement in the top 10 from list to list - opinion is unanimous on which team is the worst.

Ranking 2, previous 5

While on a bye week Denver reclaims the #2 rank held during preseason thanks to the Patriots' mauling of the Bengals. There's a reason we didn't crucify the Broncos for losing in St. Louis week 1, or for only scoring 9 points in a win versus Kansas City week 2, while other power rankings sent Denver tumbling out of the top 10... That reason was displayed in week 3 when Denver shut down the Patriots' offense, and demonstrated again week 4 when the Bengals could not. Good defense wins in the long run. The Broncos held their ground in these level headed power rankings that don't jump teams off a cliff over a single uncharacteristic performance.

Tom Brady is the equivalent to Joe Montana, both QB's who the league and every sports writer in the nation blew on a regular occasion. Brady is the overrated QB, who everyone loves at the moment.

Both of them are average QB's on great teams. Everyone talks about how Brady is a god in the NFL, but nobody ever seems to talk about Troy Brown playing defense in a Super Bowl for that team, or Bruschi being the heart of that team, or Corey Dillon and now Maroney carrying the offense.

It all comes down to every dumbass saying Brady is a god and Belichick is a genius.

So Maroney's carrying the offense now after what? 4 games?

Brady was there when they won their first superbowl, without Branch, and Dillon. Every, year they've changed OLs, had dozens of injuries yet Brady and a few star defenders are the constants in that team.

Brady is no god, but you sure are a clown for thinking he's an "average" QB, liongirl.
