Ian Gold leads the team in tackles with 26. 22 of which are solo. He's followed by Darrent Williams with 21, and Champ Bailey with 18.

Ian Gold and Dom Foxworth lead the team in passes defensed with 2 each.

Ebenezer Ekuban and Patrick Chukwurah lead the team in sacks with 1.5 sacks apiece.

Not one Bronco has picked off a pass. Oskie? Where are your threads? :)

Mike Myers leads the team in tackles for loss with 4.5, followed by Gerard Warren and DJ Williams with 2.5 each.

Tatum Bell is 3rd in the NFL in rushing.

Javon Walker leads the Broncos in receptions and yards, and ranks 9th in the NFL in receiving yards. Walker is #2 in the NFL in yards per catch.

Despite the slow start, Denver's offense is 14th in the NFL in total yards, and 2nd in the NFL in rushing yards.

Denver's defense is 18th in the NFL in yards against, 19th in rushing yards per game, and in 18th passing yards per game. Despite the poor yardage statistics, Denver is 4th in the NFL in points given per game.

Denver is 5th in the NFL in attendance.

its not the yardage that has sucked for the offense, we have moved the ball fairly well we are just not closing the deal, what is our scoring offense ranking?

If Denver is 4th in scoring D/game, that means there are some good D's out there, some bad O's out there, or both.

Here is a nice nugget I just found on yahoo. Wide receiver Javon Walker (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/5906/) is back to his Pro Bowl form, and leading the league in yards per catch (22.7). More importantly for the Broncos, he's the league's best receiver on third down (five catches for 161 yards).

You can't really look at total yds for the offense or defense because teams already had byes, yds per game would be a little more accurate.

So Gold has more Solo tackles than anybody else on the team has total tackles. He's also number 15 in the League in total tackles... NICE!!

In other news. Cutler is 0-0 with 0 TDs and 0 INTs and holds a 0.0 QB rating. Oh yeah he has no rushes for 0 yards and 0 TDs. The good news is that he has 0 fumbles also. If he keeps at this pace, he will be the first QB in history to not have a single turnover for an entire season.

Ian is in his 7th year now, and actually looking pretty good. He's been shooting in and cleaning up pretty good when a play looks llike it might go for a good gain. I guess I'm in the position with Ian Gold that many people are with Jake, where I have to admit the coaches knew better than me.

If I recall, there were a number of regulars who were - shall we say? - less than enamored with Gold. I am pleased that his overall speed has helped the Denver D, and his size does not diminish his stature.

If Gold is anywhere near as good this year as he was last year, we should be in for a treat. Through the first three games, he looks like he could be the Broncos' defensive MVP.

Gold will kick ass this year, probably next year too. After that we should start worrying though, as his salary goes up up up and his production will likely go down down down (small guys relying on their speed rarely age gracefully).

We'll have to wait and see though. I thought Gold was probably toast after his ACL and trip to Tampa Bay where he was only used situationally. He came back from the injury faster though, and used the situational strong side use in Tampa to become a better all around linebacker. He's a gamer, thats for sure.

you never know, Zach Thomas has relied on speed an intensity his entire career, and he is 5 years older (and only 5lbs heavier) than Ian. For all we know he may continue to get better over the next couple years.

I'll give him this. He is very consistent
