Apparently no one caught DJ's several missed tackles over games 1 and 2. It was awesome to see him and most of the other defensive players to step it up this week, but let's not annoint DJ yet. I think that Gold, no matter if you hate him or love him (I'm in neither camp) has played the best out of any of our linebackers thus far.
Let's keep it up guys...but as Al Wilson knows, big hits aren't all that great if you don't actually bring the guy down. Wrap and tackle!

Nobody is annointing DJ as anything. Just enjoy the hit and go on about your life.

Apply sufficient blunt force superior and anterior to their center of gravity and you will send your opponent into a most gratifying reverse-rotational spin with subsequent earth collision...

DJ was flying around in game 3. Hopefully he can keep this up. He was pretty quiet last year, so I hope he will step it up. Wilson isn't getting any younger and Gold isn't far behind him, so I think DJ needs to establish himself now.

He looked more like the WS backer he's supposed to be. He really was able to flow through the blocks and to the play. The great thing was that Gold did that as well. I too believe Gold has been our most consistent and productive backer this year, with DJ coming on strong in game 3. It was a joy to see. That said, Al, who is still playing fairly well, is behind the other 2 so far this year. Hopefully they can all rise up together. That said, that hit was SICK!!

I love this. Someone I would like made this video especially with the moments he chooses to replay.

Agreed. And that's saying a lot. Our linebackers have been one of the best crews in the league for the last few years, and yet the only people that seem to notice are us and the color commentator of our game that week. I think being underrated contributes quite a bit to our defensive success. Awhile back, I heard somewhere that a lot of players had said that Ray Lewis is the one player in the league that makes them hurt every time he tackles them. I would much rather have a quick D that wraps people up than a bunch of heavy hitters. Besides, we've got our share of those in John Lynch and Nick Ferguson.
...not that it's not nice to see these big hits every once in awhile. ;D

I just noticed somthing on this video that I did not see during the game on Sunday night. If you watch Javons 83 yarder, kircus comes flying down the field and tries to make a block. That's just awsome he gave an effort like that, and also, I know he was pretty fast, but it looked like he was flying out there. Im liking Kircus more and more. I would not be suprised if he would be the number two guy when Rod hangs it up.

I thought it was Scheffler down there flapping his arms falling down, trying to tell Javon to cut behind him, like he is faster than Javon...lol.

The Kircus attempt at the block was some of the funniest on the game. I wanted to mention it in a thread but didnt see the appropriate place. He is swinging his arms as it seems he is running faster than his own good. His legs too fast for his upper body. He does let Javon know where the defenders are so teamwork was there. Kircus made some great timely catches and that is all we ask of him.

that 83 yarder gives me a lot of hope for these new offesnsive additions. Scheff, Kircus and more were all following that entire play. All new guys, all giving great effort.

I was hoping someone else caught that Scheffler thing.
I'm not worried about Javon's speed whatsoever, however, i am worried about the fact that Tony Scheffler has looked really "unagile" so far this year.

Kinda like at the combine? He ran a pretty fast 40 for a tight end.. but at the end he did exactly what he did on the Walker catch... nose dive face first. I think thats gonna be something that sticks with him througout his career. But as far as him fighting the ball and dropping passes, thats probably more nerves or rookie jitters. Once he settles down he should be fine. I hope.
