Though I wasn't expecting the Chiefs to win this game, I also didn't expect it to be as close as it was. It's gonna be a long season for Chiefs fans I'm afraid.

Could be a long one for Bronco fans as well. One thing is for certain. It's better to be 1-1 than 0-2. So congratulations on the victory on a hard fought game.

this was a hard fought game. a great kind of game to win and build up a little steam. it's funny listening to bronco fans, this team is 33 and 12 with plummer, wins a tuff defensive battle and many are still whinning about how "ugly" it was. jake can't do this, jake that, well one thing jake does.....and that's WIN. Bring on the Pats!

That KC defense impressed me greatly. They were bringing the wood all day and we very very physical. If trent green was playing this would of been a KC blowout.

Our offense was pretty poor except for the late thrid and into the fourth when they seemed to get some momentum. Our defense was outstanding,KC had 10 possesions inside denver territory netting 1 yard(accorrding to the broadcasters on KOA). Not allowing a td in 2 games is amazing i dont care who you're playing.

Though I can apprecate your excitement for the win, I can hardly credit Jake Plummer for it. Plummer was in no way responsible for this victory. I credit the defense.

Agreed. The KC D was outstanding. It's been a long time since I said that. Something to build on.

To be quite honest, it was hard to tell the two teams apart. They both struggled on O and played good defense.

he did what was needed to win as he does 2/3 of the time. you can CREDIT whomever you want. winning is what's important, not who gets credit. i'll take a win anyday, anyway in the NFL.

.

So we would have had the same game plan on defense if Green was in ?
if so do we ever change game plans for different QB's ?

A division game is a division game ....... who would have thought when we went 6-10 and the Raiders went to the AFCC ,Denver would have swept them ?
Division games are like that .........Welcome to the Fanhood of the NFL newb ......

KC evidently didn't get the memo that they were supposed to lie down and lose by 30. They had as much to do with the Bronco's problems as anything.

Defense is improved. I was impressed and surprised by the safeties. When did Sammy Knight become a player?

And Larry Johnson is a beast. Herm had a pretty good game plan. In fact, I think that the Chiefs had a better chance to win with Huard and the conservative plan than if Trent Green were in there just because it was such a change up, and it truly took advantage of KC's strengths.

The defensive ends played well too. Really a good effort. Bronco's were fortunate to win.

Disagreed....Huard did well, especially considering he hasn't played in 6 years.....he was what, 8 for 9, or 10 for 11 passing at one point in the game.....nearly perfect completion percentage......can't do any better than that.

I told Chiefs fans that if there was ever a "good loss", this would be it. We didn't make a fool out of the defense all day like we usually do. That should signal real improvement with the defense...

He did turn the ball over, and there was no threat to pass any further than 10 yards with Huard in.

Fortunate ? Hilarious!
well maybe Chief fan sees it that way , but Denver did just enough to stay close , then end it ...........KC was fortunate Jake went Rainman for 3¾ quarters ........

If only KC would have played four quarters instead of three....

If Carl ever manages to get the playoff format re-done to allow more mediocre teams - like the Chiefs in.....maybe Carl can petition the league again in order to reduce the length of all NFL games to three quarters.

Seems to me that th eBroncos got better in the Fourth Quarter on O, but couldn't quite get it into the end zone. KC was stiffled in the fourth, and the OT was efficient, ground it out ball. Walker made th eOT work out, so, the new guy did produce.

Maybe Worm should say: IF Denver had played the first three quarters like they did the fourth and the OT, the game woulod have been a Denver blowout.

IF, and BUTs, and MAYBES have a way of being a bit foolish, no? It was what it was....

We survived a tough game. The Broncos had opportunities to put the game away and didn't put it in the end zone. I hope Shanny get's something fixed before we get thumped by the Pats.

A strong win against the Pats and a lot of this early struggle will be forgotten. Or will it.

Hey Einstein...I live in Denver, I'm a Bronco fan. Just because I pull for the home team doesn't mean that I can't acknowledge a good game by the opposition.

Puddin?

IMO the KC Defense were superb, fast and all over the place but in all honesty our offense hasn't gotten out of 1st gear yet and it will have to next week to go to the bye 2-1.

KC is nothing like what I expected it to be.
