I've been wearing only Bronco Orange shirts at work now for a few years mainly because I live in Raider/Niner territory. It both confuses and pisses off many of my co-workers but there is no rule against it so I do it every day. About six months ago I found some orange shorts on sale for five bucks each that are the exact same shade as the shirts. So I bought enough to wear an orange shirt and orange shorts every day to work. It amuses me. When the season started I grabbed my orange baseball cap and started wearing it too.
The hat was too much. I have angered the football gods. I wore it during the entire game against StL. I was at work today and didn't get to watch the game until very late. I took off my cap in the car to put my belongings in there and the Broncos tied it up. I got home and set my hat down next to me, absentmindedly, and the D stepped up. I put the hat back on and LJ ripped off a long run. I quickly pulled the hat back off and the D stepped up again. Then we went into overtime, won the toss, and drove down for the game winning FG.
I am now retiring the hat for the season. It is bad juju. If I get around to it I will sacrifice a chicken but retiring the hat should do it. I feel obligated to apologise to the players, coaches and staff. Also the FO. I am also apologising to my fellow Bronco fans for not catching on to this earlier. The hat goes in the box today. We will now kick ass for the remainder of the season. Please go back to your bashing and stat crunching. That is all.
