good choice by kc. despite me hating the chiefs; this would be a good move. volek is the most underrated qb going. he is much better than plummer; he actually has the ability to stay in the pocket without wetting his pants or getting happy feet.

No.
However he is better than Damon Huard, so that counts for something.

Herm will keep 4. I don't think he wants Croyle to play this year.

2 years of reading the OM without comment and finally Bob struck a nerve. That's a shame, because I usually enjoy his banter. Keep the high road Bob, there are enough ignorant twits that post here that are Bronco homers that I have to tolerate. You on the other hand seem to have good football knowledge when you're not being a KC homer.

I bet Volek is just drooling at either choice....KC or Tennessee, what a thing to look forward too. Volek good news were trading you to a team with no blocking, third rate pass receivers and a team staring at an 0-2 record. The really good news is if you can survive a few weeks with this crap maybe Trint will come back and you can ride the pine some more and enjoy the losing as fewer and fewer mullets come to arrowhead each week. Or better yet stay where you are Volek and stay a third string QB behind two worthless SOB's you should be starting in front of anyway. I hope this guy makes decent money, I truly wouldn't trade positions with him.

ESPN is reporting that Volek to the Chargers is pretty much a done deal. It's just not going to happen until after the Chargers-Titans game this weekend.
I don't know how much Volek could help out the Chiefs immediately anyway since he would need time to get acquatinted with their system and plays.
He's going to be insurance later on in the season for the Chargers, since the rookie Whitehurst is the only other QB on the roster.

I hope he is smart about it and doesn't listen to all the pressure to rush back for his and his families sake. Green seems like a good guy and not an arrogant smart ass so I think he'll consider his long term future.
Forget football .... it aint worth it after getting his bell rung like that! At leatn not any time soon as in this season.
Every time he takes a snap everyone will be holding their breath and even for the Chief's sake it would probably be better for them to let Huard take the reins and see if he can do from them what he did for Miami when Marino went down in 2000.

When was the last time you remember any professional football team keeping 4 active QBs on the roster. Doesn't happen, roster spots are to valuable for that. IF Voleck goes to KC, Croyle is gone or Green goes to the IR. Huard is safe because he knows the offense.

No kidding. Volek had a nice string of 3-5 games a few seasons back, but has not been on the field much since, and so impressed his coaches that they inserted Collins as the starter a week after signing him off the street.

Yeah, but what the heck is TEN doing in the QB dept. ??? Vince Young, the ultimate project, over Jay Cutler when it is so obvious that Jeff Fisher wanted him over Young. Then Collins over Volek? Damn, that Owner needs to butt the hell out of all these personnel decisions. Bud Adams sucks and I am so glad Bowlen relies on football people instead of his own decisions.

My apologies if you have mistaken my definition of a "homer" and a "fan". I wasn't dissing Bronco fans, I was speaking about the homers. The other day, Bob posted some great photos which he's been doing for some time now, and one of your friends simply bashed him for it rather than appreciate the photos and the time it took for him to do it. That's the type of fan I would expect to find in Oakland. The Bronco's are a world class organization, the fans should appreciate that and try to act accordingly.
Anyone calling for Jay to start after one game doesn't know football or the NFL. A few more weeks like last weekend and I would agree that the Broncos might as well begin preparing for next year by giving Jay the experience.

Wade through the other 40k posts... I bet there is knowlege of Bobba Fett erotica, how to mooch off your parents after quiting Community college, and lots of apologizing for Eddie Kittleson or what ever the dudes name is. I doubt you find any football knowledge that gives anyone insight to either the history of his "AWESOME" team (that has not sniffed a SB in what, 36 years?) or what makes them tough competition for the Broncos this year. Everything he posts can be found in the KFC Star by the sexy Liz Merril (I am sure she is very nice).

Don't bet more than you're willing to lose, cause I'm not him. Originally, I did say that I enjoyed some of his banter, some of it is kind of "out there" funny. My take on him is the he would really prefer to be a Bronco fan, but was born into a Chef's household. I grew up in Giant's country and found the Broncos when Morton was traded. I followed both teams equally until the Duke arrived ( I was about Bob's age when that happened ). I didn't choose to be born there, but I found my way to my real home.

Two days to Week 2, and the Chiefs are already living up to the conservative label with which coach Herm Edwards arrived, then tried to dispel in his pressers this week.
Kansas City has chosen to rest on its laurels and not acquire Billy Volek, the lame-duck Titans signal caller who would almost certainly be an upgrade over Damon Huard, prior to gameday. The Chargers are reportedly the favorites to get Volek by way of a measly sixth-round pick.
I'd take Volek over Plummer. At least the guy doesn't shiat his pants at the first sign of pressure.
Enough …Jake has never lacked courage His problem is his toughness and tendency to piss into the wind.. If Jake shait his pants … on the next play he would throw a left-handed pass of shait into the face of the blitz.

But I guess the story is that there was 'miscommunication' or whatever with the new offensive coordinator. Guy doesn't even know what down it is.

In any case, I hope the Chiefs don't land Volek. He's good. I don't care what anyone else on this board thinks, The guy is a grizzled, smart veteran.
The problem is that he has no place anywhere. He's too old to become a franchise QB, and he doesn't have enough experience to be a Mentor. He's not the past, he's not the future...he's just a really good QB.
