View Full Version : Chiefs to continue to pay homage to child molester

Apparently the Chiefs fans just cant let go. They love child molester, Gary Glitter's song "Rock and Roll Part II" so much that they've decided to remake their own version (http://wildbill.invisionzone.com/index.php?showtopic=10459&st=0&p=100948&#entry100948)of it so that they can play it after touchdowns.

I am trying to figure out a problem with this...I mean the guy gets no jack from that. No?

Depends on:

1. Whether he wrote the music,

2. Whether he still owns (or ever owned) copyright, if he wrote it.

ZachKC
09-01-2006, 01:46 AM
Just seems they are hatching a way to do this so the guy doesn't get paid. If that were not the case then they would just say **** it and use the original song...

So let's see:

1. They disrespect the National anthem by replacing the word Brave with Chiefs
2. They are going to use a song after TDs written by a person convicted of child molestation even though the league has asked teams not to
3. In said TD song, they choose to use the an espletive in a chant they do during the song.

Classy.

I don't get what the big deal is. It's not like it's a song about molesting children and he didn't commit the crime while he wrote it. It sounds stupid to me.

I don't have a problem with the league wanting to nix it in the least...

I am trying to see what the big deal is with making another one like it to keep a tradition yet not fill the pockets of the guy...

I guess people in Kansas City go to Arrowhead on Sunday's to celebrate the molestation of children....

In my madden games at home when ever someone scores a TD we play the 'chours' of sandstorm and dance around. lol

I know on MNF last year, Trent Green was shocked... The first drive he had to call a time out, and let the fans know that they were in his head. It was a bad night after he went and did that. It just got louder after that.

Like I said it seems better since then but it was pretty rough and tumble.

You know who suprised me and seemed to have a rock and roll crowd? Seattle. Those people seemed loud and crazy as **** in that Qwest stadium in the playoffs last year.

I got a buddy in Seattle from KC who is doing marketing for the now in flux Sonics. Said it was pretty wild but that if Seattle takes a turn there are a lot of bandwagoners. They are up when times are good though. ROFL!

Ok, since you're playing nice, I will too.

The stadium noise sucked in '04. I got home and turned on the Falcons game at the half and thought we were losing because you could hear people eating in the stands on broadcast. Something happened between now and then that really got things going.

We like to remember that moment fondly here. Like we remember a child taking his first steps and falling elbows first onto his prone father's tender parts.

Jake has an "America's Funniest Videos" side to him. Fortunately, those moments are memories, for the most part (Don't even talk to me about that underhanded weirdness Jake tried to deliver to Tatum at the goal line last week.)

He's our boy and we love him.

I understand. The tune is younger than your last successful team.

Rock and Roll, Part 2 was released in 1972, a mere 34 years ago.

You guys won the Super Bowl in 1970 (1969 season, but you won it on Jan. 11, 1970), only 36 years ago.

By my calculations, you'll see that song and your team converge once again 35 years from now.

In 2041, you'll be jumping up and down in your parents' basement enjoying your second Super Bowl win.

I'll be happy for you. Really.

These things serve a purpose:

"The first time I ever went in there it scared the hell out of me -- and that was just the national anthem," Smith remembered. "When they say, 'The home of the Chiefs' right there in the national anthem, I thought they were going to attack us. I thought 70,000 people were about to come out of the stands and get us."
