I like Mike, but I'm fine with any of them.

CAR YDS AVG TD LG
Mike Bell 9 74 8.2 0 38
Tatum Bell 9 48 5.3 1 22
Cedric Cobbs 8 34 4.3 0 9
Bradlee Van Pelt 2 23 11.5 0 15
Jay Cutler 1 8 8.0 0 8
I'm the most excited about Cobbs but i'm just not sure if he got enough carries against 1st teams. I think Mbell gets it by default.
I still feel like we are really unsettled. I don't really think its good for us. Guess the competition continues in week 1.

COBBS has run against scum bums and sterno bums. Doesn't matter what kind, they are all bums.

I would like to see Tatum get the opportunity to carry the load and see what he can do; put it to bed once and for all if Tatum can be a full-time starter or not.
Unless someone really shows something in the regular season, I thhink Shanahan will employee the RBBC approach just like we did last year. At the end of the day it really doesn't matter who starts anyway with the RBBC approach. Everyone will still get their designated carries.
Mike Bell starts the opener, splits carries with Tatum, Cobbs needs to step it up in practice or someone needs to be hurt for him to suit up on gameday.

I don't think it is gonna matter.
Tatum ran well...but starting in the third quarter.
Cobbs also ran well , then Mike Bell came back in and ...ran well.
They all ran well. I will say that Cobbs picked up a blitz on BVPs pass to Miree that would have negated that play.
My gues is that Shanny is gonna RBBC with rotating starters until someone TAKEs the job and claims it.
Right now I think Mike Bell starts next week...but all three will get reps.
Dayne looks like HISTORY. Nash to IR or PUP. So do we keep three FB's ?!Booya!

850 KOA was reporting before the game that Denver was shopping Dayne, so yeah, I think he's as good as gone. I doubt we get anything for him though since I'm sure anyone who would be interested in him will wait until he's cut.

Funny that the guy that was supposed to be the STARTER before camp, loses not only the starting job but the job completely. It's great that we found a few diamonds in the rough to replace the cut gem we thought we had. On the other hand there was always the suspicion that Dayne was really a CZ and not a diamond at all. Anyone seen Majik lately?
As long as he doesn't end up on an AFC West team and pulls a 55 yard run out of his rear to beat us I wish him well.

I seriously wonder whether Majik has done himself in. He certainly got enough encouragement here.

That's going to go a long way toward deciding who plays more. Shanny has very little patience for RBs who can't pick up their blocking assignment. Assuming relative equality among the RBs (Bells and Cobbs), the one who is most consistent picking up the blitz and catching out of the backfield will play most.
I haven't been able to watch any games, can someone weigh in on which RB does these things best?

Trade Bell, keep Dayne... draft a starter next year.

Mike Bell with more than regular splits with Tatum. Just like last year with Anderson.

I love how everyone was singing Dayne's praises in the offseason...now he's not even an option on the poll.

Remember the days when the rule was that a guy couldn't lose his spot due to injury?
Forget 'em.

By everyone you mean three people, right? There were quite a few people here who were not enamored with the idea of Dayne being our go-to guy.

I think we'll start the season with the same rotation we had last year. Mike Bell will get Anderson's carries. Tatum will play the same role he played last year, and Cobbs will be in Dayne's shoes.
I think Tatum's role will diminish as Mike Bell gains experience.

Bell will start, but the carries will be split up. We definitely have a "situation" at RB. Nash and Dayne screwed their chances by nursing injuries in pre-season week 3. Would have been interesting to see those two in the mix.
In any case, no too terribly worried about it. I'm hoping Cobbs can be a chain-mover in the Mike Anderson mold. He's a little slow, but picks his spots well and can carries guys for a a couple of yards.
We'll be good, but not great at running the ball. The new receiving additions will have to open things up for us.

I find myself unimpressed with any of them. For the first time since TD, I am actually concerned about the RB situation. Mike Bell does not look like anything special to me. Tatum Bell is hit and miss and Cobbs never got to go against the first teamers.
RBBC worked well last year but we had one proven runner. This year we have zero.

WOW. I think Mike Bell is starting. He is really consistant. He'll be great for us just watch.Although Cobbs looks really good. He'll make tha squad.

Mike and Tater can fight it out in the first few regular season games. I think Tatum is primed for the starting gig. All he needs to show is that he can be around as consistent as Mike Bell in short, tough yards because Tatum's homerun ability and big gains are going to be vital for this offense.

I believe Cobbs runs a faster 40 than M. Bell

Who I think will start and who I hope will start are two different answers.
I think it will be Mike Bell..So that's what I voted

I was really surpised with that talk about Dayne being the starter. So surprised I didn't believe it. His 55 yarder was an anomoly for him. Denver's history of honing the rough diamond pretty much told me that Dayne was nothing but insurance should some of the others not pan out. I am not certain anyone in the AFCW would look at him let alone pick him up....well, there is Jokeland.

I want to see what happens around games 11 and 12. Mike Bell is a rookie, I wonder if he will hit the NFL wall like a lot of college RBs do the first year. Which is why it makes sense to run the RBBC. I like Tatum I just am doubtful of him as a work horse type back. Everyone keeps saying he is primed to take over duties but that should have been last year. RB is not like QB you don't need 3 years to learn the system.

M Bell will start and T Bell will spell him every 3-4 series. Shanny will bring in Cobbs for a series as soon as one of them fumbles.
Fantasy owners will be pleased as punch the whole season:(

I think Dayne did not get a fair chance at the job. More important then that I am concerned about our run game. We need a clear starter, now that we have some good receivers it would be nice to have CP back. We need to find another solid RB. I dont see any of the guys we have now being all that good. I wish Shanahan would use a draft pick to get a good guy one day.

Ha! sorry man I just dont see the old man pulling off a 55 yarder against anyone this year and certainly not against the speed of our D. He looks like he runs in mud.
I think we will see a mix of MBell and TBell. I would not be surprised to see TBell start the game for the fact its on the road and MBell will have butterflys. Let the vet start the game and once things settledown put MBell in.

IMO, Tater-tot still goes down too easily. The one play that sticks out in my mind from last night (I forget which quarter), where it was a pitch to Tatum on the left side, the defender broke through....it looked like he basically slapped Tatum on the ankle when he dove for him, and sure enough.....Tater went down.......:pity:

Based on Mike Bells performance last night, I think its fair to say he has solidified his position as the starting tailback!

I saw that too and pointed it out to my brother. In fact there were several playes were TB was arm tackled or simply tripped up! Cedric Cobbs is a keeper he will definitely push both MB and TB should either not live up to expectations.
