The Best Your Team Can Be
This is an interesting link to Peter King's predictions for 2006. He has the Broncos at 12-4. Probably about right give or take a game.

Thanks Woodman http://s95212051.onlinehome.us/livejournal/2005/megaman/woodman.gif

I personally think the NFC West will be harder than people think. The rams game will be close, but we'll win. The Niners will win 8 games this year, and the Raiders probably won't be total pushovers this year (though i thought that last year and well, you know :~ohyah!: )

So far every team I've checked he has them at 8-8 or better and that includes the Bills, Jets, Texans, Titans, 49ers, Packers

These aren't predictions these are ceilings. If you read what he is doing he isn't predicting records. He is saying if everything goes right this year this is the most wins the team can get.

So S.D. ceiling maybe higher but in all likelyhood they'll mess up along the way.

What did he give the Montclair NJ High School girl's field hockey team? 16-0?

THis is best case scenario.

He' has Indy's best case scenario at 15-1 and their only loss coming to us.

He has Indy beating NE on a Vinatieri last second field goal Ha! That would be awesome as much as I would hate seeing Indy win that game.

he pretty much contradicts himself,he predicts us to have a worse record ans says it will be a shock it we dont win the division?

and that is why nobody is below .500(that i have seen). he has the lions as possibly going 11-5 but says that 9-7 is a possibility and would show improvement. a well done piece by king, hes ok during the season, his offseason crap gets pretty mindless

I believe our ceiling is just high as NE's. Last years team was 13-3, and this years team is much improved.

This is almost as bad as Playboy...picking a few division winners @ 10-6 and everyone else at 8-8.

Boy, taking a stand, nothing like it.

The hedging is pathetic. Best case scenario? 19-0. That place is do ****ed up at this point I can't believe anyone would even post a link.

He has S.D. going 13-3 to Denver's 12-4

Peter King says the Bolts beat us by ONE GAME because they have easier schedule.

Let's examine: Aside from common opponents (AFC West x2, NFC West)

Here's who SD plays:CINCINNATI
BUFFALO
PITTSBURGH
TENNESSEE
Here's who WE play:NEW ENGLAND
BALTIMORE
INDIANAPOLIS
PITTSBURGH
He might have a point ...

Yeah but it doesn't matter because Denver sweeps the Chugger sthis year.

Um, thats not exactly right. Non-AFC West/NFC West schedules:

SD
Tennessee
@Baltimore
Pittsburgh
Cleveland
@Cincinnati
@Buffalo

Denver
@New England
Baltimore
@Cleveland
Indianapolis
@Pittsburgh
Cincinnati

The only different teams are SD playing Tennessee and Buffalo while we have New England and Indy. However, we get some advantage in the home/away scheduling thanks to Seattle, Indy, & Cincy coming to our house, our big non-division road games are Pitt and NE. SD on the other hand has Cincy and Seattle on the road, tough games to win, and adds Baltimore to the list, a team they should beat but could easily lose to on the road.

No question they have an easier schedule, but they were a hit and miss team last year that just lost a major stablizing element (Brees). They have more questions than we do. I only see two odds on losses on our schedule, Pitt and NE, I see three or four on theirs (@Cincy, @Seattle, @Denver, Pittsburgh).

King needs to dye the skunk patch.

Meanwhile, I don't trust his picks. The teams he likes in week one are 'overrated' by week nine.
