So Jake and Shanny got into it the other night during the game and Jake flings his helmet in anger? Was in an article on Denver Post I believe - read it and then went searching for answers but couldn't find anything here.

Anyone see the article or know anything more than that?

LMAO - that was funny.

Seriously has anything else been mentioned of it?

It happens about once a game, maybe not the helmet tossing, but Jake and Shanny get into it quite a bit. Nothing to really be concerned about. They are both competitive.

as jake learns the sytem, he'll probably get into more 'discussions' with shanny. remember when gannon learned the system, he was in gruden's face every week. same with brad johnson.

I didn't see the article. I think it was after he missed Javon on an out at the goal line. It was a pretty poor pass but I will say if he throws it at Javon's numbers the defender has a shot at jumping the route and taking it the distance. So... somehow I don't think he was complaining about the throw but rather the decision whether he should have hit someone else or maybe there was a pump fake and then fade option or who knows.

Or maybe, just maybe, they don't get along anymore. Maybe it's an Elway/Reeves-type situation. Is the rift growing? Will they be yelling at each other on the sideline during the Bronc's first loss, a la Gannon and whoever that coach was when the Broncs shattered them on Monday night? Is there no love lost in Broncoland? Is the veteran feeling the rookie looking over his shoulder? Is the Mastermind losing control of his general? Are the Broncos imploding? Is the lockerroom falling apart? Will this promising team buckle under the weight of its leaders' egos? Is my name Mark Kizla?

There was an implication in a Post article that Shanahan refused to call the boot, and Plummer was upset because he wanted to win the game. Shanahan didn't want to call it because Kubes would have had a defensive answer to it, and to advertise that there is a defense for it would have been unwise. There may be a "tell" as to when that boot is called, and that may be the whole point. They can changte the tells each game, but Kubes knew them all, obviously. Sort of reminds me of the times when Morton would signal a QB Keep, but only his running back would know it. Didn't happen very much, but it was effective, even though it usually took Morton all day to run out of sight.

I admit openly and unabashedly that this is speculation.

from the article - "We were just talking about the play call," Plummer said of his animated discussion with Shanahan. Plummer is smart enough to realize if the Broncos struggle running the football, the quarterback is a scapegoat waiting to happen. The red zone is where former Denver tailbacks Terrell Davis and Clinton Portis pounded foes into submission.

Jesus...we better appease him like J. Jones in Dallas.

After all...what other option do we have at QB?

Jake needs to pour some icewater down the crack of his ass because there is fire from behind in Rocket Man.

I honestly don't mind it if he's not throwing a helmet on the field or at anyone. I don't like it, but he HAS to be feeling the heat.

What do you think Oakland would give up for Plummer right now? (if they actually talked to each other) It would never happen because there still is seething hatred, and plummer isn't the gunslinger Oakland likes in the image of the falso god.

:D I didn't see the article, but from what I can tell from the game, I think he was telling Plummer he had more time and didn't have to rush a couple of throws like he did. Probably said it a little more sternly than that is my guess

Plummer is a mistake waiting to happen. Every time we NEED a throw, we don't get it from #16, but take the 1 off in a year or two and we WILL get the throws we NEED from #6!

Then he bent Shannahan over his knee and spanked him...

This thread is absurd... Who cares? He threw his helmet? Don't you want a player to have that kind of fire and passion and competitive spririt?

Depends, Jeff George threw his helmet a lot too. Its one thing if its just fire and competitiveness but if its a attitude problem than it could be more serious.

I think it's fairly obvious that Jake Plummer is not Ryan Leaf.

Fourth year? He knows the system. He made a few bad throws and Shanahan was grilling him about it.
