They both suck on offense.
Edge hasn't been able to run at all this preseason.
How can Chicago put up with Grossman, Griese is an instant major upgrade over this guy. I am not a GRiese
fan but facts are facts.

Griese was a stud for Tampa pre-injury.

He has been around long enough, he might think about showing it. If he was cut I don't think one NFL team would even consider him unless it was to hold the clipboard.

Matt played well tonight. He showed a lot of composure in the pocket and scrambled for first downs when needed. The Beras D doesn't look the same this year. Maybe it's just preseason, but they definitely don't look as good as last year.

Brian G. will be their no. 1 QB before week 3. I wish Vegas posted odds on this.

You just wait. Chicago plays in an easy division where defense is a bad word. Granted they have a bad offense but if they go 12-4 and Griese throws 20Tds and 12ints he is going to the Probowl.
The only obstacle I see is if Lovie Smith starts Grossman.

Leinert played well it looks like. Can someone break down how he played and also the contrast between Grossman and Griese? Grossman has played like butt all preseason.

That AZ offense line is going to ensure that James only get 1100 yards this year.
BTW Mike Anderson looks old. This is the third time I seen the Ravens this preseason and he looks old and slow.

I was in attendance at the Zona/Chicago game last night and can provide some insights....
Leinert- IMHO, plays very impressively- like a seasoned veteran. Matt Hilton is one of those players you don't take your eyes off of on the field- even when executing a stretch you always expect Matt to have the ball and execute a play action pass- I would think the secondaries he faces will be this way as well. Matt Leinert is also a little more mobile than I thought, picks and chooses times well to scramble to keep drives alive and move the chains.
Leinert took over under center in the 2nd quarter w/poor field position, got them out of that hole. 2nd drive begins deep in their own territory (around 20 I believe) w/ 56 seconds to go in the half and Leinert picks apart the bear secondary by simply completing mostly what the Bears gave him (underneath/Mesh routes, short outs). Gets them in scoring position for a Rackers 50 yd. field goal attempt- it's GOOD! (momentum shift AZ)
(Prior to this Lovie Smith elects to go for it on 4th down- Denied (score was 7-3 Cards) and takes away a sure fire FG. The Bears brass is trying soo hard to push Rex Grossman over the top that their decision making is clouded. With a super bowl caliber defense, you really only need a manager at QB who can make the occassional big play, and we all know that S.O.B. Griese can do that much....... Chicago Sun times ran an article stating that the Bears are still firmly behind Rex....(Majority of Fans are behind Griese at this point as well)LOL

Griese has outplayed Grossman so far albeit using second and third stringers. But Brian has enough experience where he could be a productive Qb for them this year is Rex continues to struggle.

The little ive seen of Leinart he has played well.
They seem to give him a WR to go to every play, and if he is covered, he runs. I havent seen him really read a Defense yet, but we will see.

I think he will get that in about 350 carries. Cards oline isn't very good, L. Davis is one of the biggest busts I've seen. GUy just leans on DLine.

Bears fans were openly booing Grossman and chanting "Griese" during the game.

Tell us, SoCal, how does a rookie with 4th or 5th round talent rip up the Bears defense like that? That joker must be the luckiest QB to ever pick up a football. For some reason -- despite his OBVIOUS lack of talent and arm strength -- he just seems to get the job done. Oh, I know what it is, it must Dennis Green's superior coaching that masks all his deficiencies.

I said he was a third round talent and I continue to believe that. I wonder why you werent starting a thread last week when he was like 4-11...tell us Gonzo, why didnt you start such a thread?

Ahh, the typical Brian Griese preseason mirage. Yeah, go ahead and start him. He'll either be on IR or gagging on his own balls in big situations by midseason.

Hahaha, bitter are we SoCal? Merged my Matt Leinart thread into a game thread about Arizona Vs Chicago.

Griese would be a perfect fit for Chicago in a morbid kind of way. Those people are so used to heartbreak by now... things will keep right on schedule.

Did we not have another thread (previously started) discussing the Arizona-Chicago game and specifically Leinart's performance?
I responded to the post you provided. I did not censor you at all. We already have a thread about this game and about Leinart's performance. You are certainly welcome to your viewpoint and that viewpoint was not deleted or changed at all, simply merged into a thread we already have and I responded to the points made. I continue to feel that Leinart is a fraud and has unfairly benefitted from superior talent around him since high school.
