You know, I read in most articles that Javon didnt get a pass thrown his way. THen I read on here that Javon didnt get a pass thrown his way.

Obviously I watched a different game than you people.

2nd quarter, Cutler's first play starting at 4:21 left in the quarter. Javon is lined up on the right (top of screen) and runs a slant. Wonder boy throws it, it gets deflected (though he was heavily covered) and the ball falls incomplete.

BUT, #84 is Javon and the pass was intended for him. Afterwards Javon proceeds to run off the field and sits on the bench and doesnt play anymore.

So he DID get a pass thrown his way. Our wonder boy made a horrible throw (and a horrible read as a defender was sitting in front of the route and the CB was coming up fast enough to deflect or intercept the pass from behind Javon) and he had no chance of catching it.

So please shut your pie holes. If you arent going to watch the game and pay attention, dont comment.

It's hilarious reading Plummer homers bashing a rookie for making the same bad throws that they don't say a word about Plummer making...

sad.
the whole thing was about Plummer not throwing to Walker and whether that was a sign of Walker being used in the same way Lelie was used.(Lelie being used is an Oxymoron)
Thanks for proving the point even more.

Atleast it looks like your wonder boy TRIED throwing to him unlike some one else who just locks in on Smith.

and why would you try to diss Cutler? a freakin rook, playing his second preseason game. Thats hillarious.

It's only a matter of time and you know it.

I think maybe people were talking about a pass that had a chance of actually being caught??:wiggle:

The reason Walker ran off the field was because he was told that was his last play, so he hustled off and got out of the way. He wasn't p*****d as some have insinuated.

I belive lidderer already decried the locking in on smith argument. If you are too stupid to realize Plummer throws to Smith less than Manning throws to Marvin then hey, I cant help you moron.

Oh and I wasnt trying to diss Cutler. Just trying to bring you stupid asses down to Earth. I think Cutler will be all that and a bag of chips, but he aint ready yet and for the record, it wasnt an argument about Javon not getting thrown to by Plummer. Everyone including the media, said Javon didnt even get thrown at at all.

I wasnt dissing Javon either. I dont think he was pissed, I got the impression he realized he was in there with the 2nd team and thats not his unit. So he hustled off so as not to pull a Michael Dean Perry.

Did his argument account for the fact that Jake had 65 fewer throws in 2005 than he had in the year previous?

Sorry Alec I didn't mean you. The reference was to discussion on some other threads that some felt he was mad because he didn't get any catches in the game.

I just wanted to clear something up I did say that Cutler threw a ball to Javon in the thread I started talking about Javon not seeing any balls. I began the thread and named it Javon Walker which was later changed by a mod. So I hope you are not talking about that thread or you are the misinformed one.

Where did they get that? I saw him on the sidelines right afterwards and he was smiling, he didnt look pissed to me. He did look winded, but that could be from the route and then the hustle across the field to get off the field.

That was an ill advised throw by Cutler, one of only like 3 I have seen from him this pre-season. I'll take that any day of the week. 3 bad passes in 2 games is OK in my book.

No, I didnt see every single post on every single thread. The vast majority have said he didnt even get thrown to. The articles said he didnt even get thrown to. It wasnt just posters, it was media types too.

If that pass isn't deflected it's a completion and before you take this as a slight on Plummer, he completed the identical pass against good coverage to Rod Smith that same game in the first play of the second quarter. I'd also like to add that Javon gets that ball and he probably gets some good YAC.

actually, in another thread the other day someone did mention he got a pass thrown his way by Cutler but it was tipped or something to that nature.

Naw, teh CB was coming up from behind and had read that play because Cutler telegraphed it which, to me, seems to be his biggest fault. He telegraphs way too much. I have watched both games several times and have been highly impressed with Cutler but this is a problem. A correctable one and one that rookies do tend to make.

But watch that play, watch the CB coming up, he could have either intercepted the ball or at least made a play on it had it not been deflected. Not to say Javon wouldn't have made a better play on it, I wasn't bashing him, but it WAS an ill advised throw. He had a guy in front and behind him and the defender on the line was in the line of sight.

The play with Smith (which I just went back to look at) was nearly the same but Rod didnt have a guy in front of him like Javon did.(Assuming we are talking about the same play).

As for YAC, I dont know. There were several defenders across the middle but I cant really say for certain how Javon would have done had he caught the pass since I havent seen him play much. I dislike Green Bay so never really paid attention to him when he played there and he hasnt caught a ball for us in a game yet. Im not so fortunate to get to attend those training camps like you so dont really know his skill set (though I trust your judgement).

It was percentage of passes thrown to a WR, so 65 fewer passes won't really change that.

Gamebook has that pass intended for Alexander(#82).

Well that tears it. The gamebook says it was Alexander at 82.

Disregard the entire thread.

My decoder must have messed up and put an 84 on the jersey.

I could be wrong, but I thought that it was pretty obvious that the biggest offseason aquisition hadn't had a look in the first 3 posetions with the so the play was designed for him. he was the only first teamer on with the second team, so you can't really blame cutler, the play was for walker all the way.
