Hey all, back from vacation. Good news bad news situation.

Good news is, I kept my road rage in check going through Hope Arkansas where Bill Clinton was born.

Bad news, buddy set the game to record....at 5 AM tomorrow morning instead of yesterday, I wont be able to make the torrent until sometime tomorrow. Hey, dont be mad at me, I was looking forward to watching it myself only having the chance to watch the first half last night before the sweet confines of sleep overtook me after a day on the lake.

Sorry for the delay. If someone else has posted a torrent of the game, someone fill me in so I dont have to go through it. If not, I will assume no one has.

On a side note, I have a question for the techie's out there. I have been burning vcd files on a cd-r and watching them on my dvd player, but can you burn a vcd file on a dvd-r? The capacity of a cd-r vcd file is only like 30somthing minutes -- would love to burn the whole game on a dvd.
You can burn to a DVD-R no problem. You can keep it in VCD format and play it on your computer and SOME DVD players will play VCDs. However, to play it on most DVD players you have to convert it to the DVD format. To do that you need software that converts video files into DVD formats. There are a lot of them out there, some very complex, some simple enough for even retarded users to use.

Most newer DVD players will play a variety of movie files from AVIs and MPGs to even DIVX (I saw one in the store the other day, gonna have to go get one), but the standard DVD format is universal to all DVD players. Some of the older DVD players will not play DVD-R's though so if you have an older player, you might need to upgrade to even watch a standard DVD formatted DVD-R disc.

I grew up with one decent channel and would climb the roof to turn the antenna when the AFC game came on just to get a snowy signal as a kid. It seems like these torrents take alot of disk space, can't you just stream them? I paid good money for all this porn. What is the file size again? It seemed HUGE.

I'm fairly happy with cable/broadband where I can't just turn my head 10 degrees to watch the flat screen.

Let's face it. One of the fun things about preseason is the fact we get to watch the new kids on the block. Sometimes we can get carried away with it all. That's what made me take this cartoon in that direction. All week long it has been Cutler this and Cutler that. Granted he had an impressive first preseason debut. But that's a long way from being the Broncos starting QB. He has some seasoning to go through and Broncos fans everywhere will just have to be patient and not put the cart before the horse. Still I can only imagine how many people will be watching tonights Broncos game just like this...keeping score on the side.

Well I switched and did this one via uTorrent on the advice of Beerslug. See, this is what happens when you listen to a liberal. uTorrent gives me ZERO power over banning IPs.

So Im shutting uTorrent down.

Seeding through bit comet and banning all IPs that have not or will not upload for 24 hours.

Well bit comet wont let me seed it for some reason so I just stopped seeding for the moment. Until I can get either Bit Comet to seed it or I can find a way to ban IPs in uTorrent I will not be seeding this anymore.

The Germans were doing a fine job of uploading as well as leading the charge for Downloading. You are a credit to your decadent continent.

I would have been worried if you knew my heritage. I just saw that I am indeed uploading as well. At about 10X my download rate.

BTW .... if you plan on doing this again in the future, would it be too much to ask to split this into say 2 or 4 files? One for each half or one for each quarter. If you plan on watching this on your TV and you don´t have it hooked up to your PC directly that´d make stuff easier as my XBOX ****s around with larger video files and AFAIK some file sizes are only readable by PCs.
I contemplated doing that this time. The only reason I didnt is that the torrent was already delayed and that would have delayed it even further.

And I was unsure if that would be a popular idea to break it up into several files.

I am going to toy around with different formats and qualities. I wanted to keep the quality fairly high, but everyone and their momma bitches about long downloads.

I also am going to see if my buddy will help me seed next weeks game to help speed the process a little.

I’m nut sure but I think this is not unusual for Filsharing.
You do not Download from the begin to the end. The Program downloads the files that are missing. Sometimes Files that you need (for Example 1 QRT) are not available at the moment, so the programme looks for Files that are available (Garbage time)

The files in bit torrent are segmented and not downloaded in order, but by availability.
I'm going to wait and grab next weeks pre-season game. When I do I will keep my upload at a steady 3 Mb/s during the night.

bastige ;D I want to have a 3Mbit upstream.. what kind of connection do you have? I'm currently stuck at 16Mbit/s down, 1 Mbit/s up... though I'm glad I have the 1 MBit/s, because the contract says it's only 600 kbit/s :D

Yes, you do have to download the entire thing before any of it will play. Which is why I think it would be a good idea to have 2 different torrents for a game, 1st half and 2nd half. That way you could watch the 1st half while the 2nd half is still downloading. Just a thought. I sure appreciate the effort here. This makes us misplaced fans very happy. I get to watch the game for my birthday. Schweet.

I recommend using VLC player.
It has most codecs as well as you are able to watch a file that isnt complete.

Got the game now. Wohoo. I will upload until night time here. Unfortunately my harddisc tend to run hot, since it is kinda unstable so I dont dare to upload while I am sleeping.

I'll seed it to at least a 1.5 ratio.
