Time will tell but Cutler looks more like the best QB in the draft every day...

I believe that's the 843,451st different variation on how to spell Leinart I've seen on this board.

I'm suprised at how immature Matt is acting. I guess I should have known. Time to admit that I was blinded by the hype.

Thank God we've got Jay.

Wow. I don't know how a man can turn down 14 million dollars of garunteed money. He's only hurting himself by missing these practices and preseason games, because $14 mill is not enough money. What a bunch of crap. Iyou're right floridaresident, Im glad we didnt' get leinart either. We got the best qb in the draft anyway.

What did you expect coming from the Cardinals? They always lowball their draft picks, why should Leinart's situation be any different?

Besides, everybody knows that 1st round QB's get alot more money upfront than, say, an TE or DB. Their payscale is a bit different than other rookies so there is a lot more to haggle about.

Right now, the organization is playing the "he is the last player to sign" card in effort to put pressure on him to sign a contract for less money than he is worth.

Yeah, the Bidwells are noted cheapskates. The stupid thing here is that the draft picks are practically slotted. They are quibbling over a range that isn't really that important (it would be with what you or I earn but not a #1 draft choice). Just shut up, sign, get in camp, make your money and show everyone that you're a great player - that's how you make the top dollars.

I heard the Cardinals rewrote the contract after they had agreed to parts of that make it be detrimental to Leinart now.

Ahhh hahahahahahah! To bad he doesn't have role models like Clinton Portis to show him the proper way to handle contract negotiations. Only at the U baby!

Dodged a bullet by not drafting Leinhart. Can I say that? Well, I'm a veteran, so I guess it's ok.

if he wanted more money he should have come out last year, either that or petitioned the ncaa for another year of eligibility at usc

He wasn't lowballed at all. Sounds very similiar to Cutler's deal, a little higher. I can't remember what Cutlers guarntee was. This shouldn't be this hard.

The contract is close to the 5th pick AJ Hawks contract. He is a 10th pick. He blew it by not coming out the year prior, and his lack of atheticism killed him at the combine. Ever since losing the Rose Bowl he's been on a downhill slide.

My reports say Leinatrs guaranteed was 14M...vs Cutlers'12M. Why did that take so long for Leinart to agree to!! Cheers to Denny Green for speaking out against this primadonna(agent probably had more to do with it) QB.

I couldn't remember his bonus. He got as much as the 6th pick and was whining?

I know Jay's contract has a top end of 48 and Leinarts at or above 51. I don't see the issue when it was pretty easy to slot the price. I think Arizona was close to pulling the offer off the table.

Denny was hotter than a tamale yesterday. Jay is way ahead of the curve IMO compared to VY and Matt.

Congratulations, you just found the 2001's spelling of Leinart. Ha! It is a rather odd name tho. I kept typing Leinhart. Is that even right?

The way I read the article, it sounded more like the agent was pi$$ed about the "structure" of the deal, and I would bet that affected his "take" and not so much for Lienart (or however it is spelled).

Frankly, I am not sure that he will be worth that kind of money anyway. Suspect arm strength (admittedlly that is not the most important of the skills needed, but I remember Pete Liske), questionable accuracy in his throws, has not demonstrated the ability to win without the team around him (less leadership), no record of responding to adversity ( I think there was one game against Arizona they had a comeback, and the Texas game in which looked pedestrian) among other intangibles do not strengthen his credentials. My sense is that he would not have been drafted by Titans, even if Adams would have permitted it. (Rumor was that the owner, a Texan by unfortunate circumstances, was partial to VY.) I think both the Titans and the Cards are going to be disappointed. Big time.
