He was just talking about Cutler and talking about how much Shanny loves Cutler. He said word is that Shanny may coach another 10 to 12 years because of how excited he is to have him. Loves his poise, said it was simular to a 30 year old vet. Also feels he will be able to run his entire offense, something he hasn't been able to do since Elway.

Yep.
He doesnt get the national media attention that other guys do, but Shanny is one of the best coaches of his generation.
I, for one, never grow tired of having a dominant running game or a unique offensive approach.

I assumed that meant with Plummer, but you might be right. Shanny's offense needs a mobile QB AND someone with a strong enough arm to make all the throws.

He's only 54, so I can see him going another ten years easy. To have such a good coach for such a long time is a luxury very few teams in any sport get. It really is impossible to overstate what he has done for this franchise.

I wish the Titans would have got Jay. They worked him out 4 times and wanted him. Bud Adams wanted Young.
Mort was here in Nashville watching Young and was on the radio saying Vince is still having problems with his 5 and 7 step drops and taking snaps.
Leinert is still not in camp and Jay keeps getting better.
Let's see Chris Mort, Jaws, Steve Young, Phil Sims all said Cutler was the best of the three.
Now maybe people will start seeing for themselves.

Look's like Jake is getting subtle jabs thrown at him from the head coach. Oh well.
He might actually be happy to leave.
I wonder how much he has enjoyed his time here...
* He once flipped off the home fans during a game.
* Once stated that Denver "does not have the greatest fans in the world."
* Probably doesn't like the pressure of playing on a team that considers anything less than a Super Bowl win as a failure
* His whole career he has been the darling of his team (In Arizona, it really wasn't his fault the team lost because he had no talent around him. You could chalk up his interceptions and "bone head" plays to trying to make something happen on a team that has no hope of winning.) Here, he is the problem. Probably doesn't like that very much.
* He is about to get paid...again. If he has another solid season this year, he will be one of the more sought after free agents on the market. He might be better off on a team like the Texans who don't have much expectations and people will love him for he brings to a team instead of what he doesn't.
Come to think of it, Jake was probably doing backflips when we drafted Cutler.

I don't know if that's a very out there prediction. I think everybody pretty much knows that Vince Young has got a bigger down-side than anyone else. His wonderlick scoring certainly didn't help his case, given that NFL offenses are much more complicated than college offenses, especially the one he ran in Texas.
I think Leinart has the skills, but I'm starting to wonder if he has the maturity for it. I've been pretty disappointed in his act of late.
Man I can't wait to see what Jay Cutler can do...

It's still waaaay to early to make a statement about one or the others. Leinart might waltz into camp and light the place up, who knows? Young might get on the field in preseason and look completely unstoppable.
All we know is that Cutler is doing what he's supposed to be doing and moving up the depth chart from the #3 spot.

I don't see any reason whatsoever that Shanahan wouldn't coach to 65, especially with the talent we got in this draft to tinker with. I also wouldn't be surprised that in a dozen or so years, Mike will just move upstairs and yes...ask Pubes to come back as head coach. That outer space speculative, but I honestly could see it happen after Pubes gets a decade of experience. Mike still has the fire in his eyes. When that glow fades, it will be time to go. Elway played 15 years. If Jay is successfull and I strongly believe he will be, I'm almost certain he will be here another decade.

Cutler said he would make camp and made good on his word. Hell, he raced down to Dove Valley when his agent called so he could catch the end of the intitial meeting and inked his modest deal that eveniing.
He's been confident but not cocky, has befriended Jake, and yes, he looks as good as advertised so far.
One other thing I have said that bears repeating. If and when it's time for Jake to pack his bags via trade or granted release, I seriously doubt that he will hold any ill feelings whatsoever towards Denver and the Broncos. He probably got his career extended by 5 years minimum and became much more polished while here. Pitt made a run quite similar to the revenge tour of a decade ago, and they outplayed us and Jake was desperate and made mistakes. You can tell Shanahan measures his words about Jay not to insult Jake, who quietly has been having a very good camp of his own, the best since he has been here from some reports. The QB situation couldn't be better. Why not expect Shanny to enjoy the ride? He built it along with Bowlen and many others including some fine assistants. I have hammered on Pubes but I think he was ready this time and got his dream job. I wish him good luck. Sounds like he's allready making strides down there.

On Leinhart, theres something going on down there in Ariz.
Im starting to think in 'behind the scenes' mode, and one possibility has been continuously jabbing me in the side.
Arizona has had a look at Leinhart in camp. One thing that scared alot of people was whether the guy really wants to devote himself totally to football, and in question is whether he will play a long time, or a short time.
Everytime I see the dude, hes sitting by himself somewhere.
If they have doubts about him, the it would explain them offering him less guaranteed money than Cutler. What would it gain in the end?
Possibly trading his rights to another team, under the smokescreen of 'we dont want to pay out that much money for a 10 spot draft pick.'
They could get rid of him, and get something back in return. They dont need the guy this year anyway.

I don't get the sense that Shanahan is taking any jabs at Jake. I think he's just genuinely excited about the huge potential with Cutler.
Also, I don't see Plummer as being unhappy here. I don't think he'd consider being the "darling" on a losing team better than being with a great organization and going to the playoffs three years in a row. He's always been a team-first guy who care about winning, not personal accolades.
I hope Jake has a great year and is in high demand so that he can move on to another quality situation for him after this year.

I think that Vince will be just fine. The kid is plain and simply the biggest clutch player to come through the NCAA's. The things he was able to do on the field are very similar to what John Elway was able to do. He was able to use a combination of running and passing proficiency to keep a defense off-balance enough to methodically pick them apart late in games.
He has a cool and calm disposition and his teammates always appreciate his earnest friendliness.
Young has the tools to be the greatest of all time, while Cutler and Leinart have the tools to be great in their time.
We'll see how it pans out (and it never pans out like you expect), but Young has the highest ceiling of the bunch, so of course his failure would be more shocking. At the same time, if he plays even close to what he played like in college, he's going to be really good for a long time.

it's not that bad if you get it stretched out over the 5 months. I think it's 250.00 this year, and if you divide that up by 16 Bronco games that is only 15 bucks a game. Not to mention that you also get NFL Network that will air all 4 preseason games. That's actually 12.50 per Bronco game, plus any other games you want. Before each game, just ask yourself, "Would i be willing to pay 12.50 to watch this game?" I'm sure any Bronco fan would agree that answer is yes. And if you're like me, and you paid over 30 dollars to see Ken Shamrock vs. Tito Ortiz, the answer is HELL yes.

That's all fine and dandy, but our reporters are pretty ruthless in their appraisals. Very even handed IMO. When your coach tries to hide his giddyness for Young let me know. I don't get or look for Titan reports, but what KFFL says is that he's struggling for a #3. Too early to tell his long term prospects, but with his development, stating he will be starting by midseason when he IMO, isn't even 1/4 along in the pro game as Cutler is kinda funny.
Maybe the Titans are willing to throw him in there since they traded McNair, but if you think he's ready it's funny. Cutler is 10X more developed in the pro game and has allready picked up the offense and just needs polishing. Not only that, we have the luxury of an alternate Pro-Bowler to ease his birth.
I'm sorry, but not many people share your opinion on the outside. Shanahan doesn't hand out praise lightly, sometimes he doesn't hand it out at all.

Well, we've heard conflicting reports whether or not the Broncos were indeed after Leinart. I mean, we know how much they think of Cutler, so I guess I just have a hard time believing that the Broncos believed that BOTH of them were can't miss franchise guys; especially considering the differences in their style of play.
10-12 more years of Shanahan and he steps over Gibbs and Parcells on the coaching ranks pedestal right next to Walsh and Lombardi. Shanahan will win another super bowl. IF Cutler is as good as he looks, Shanahan might be fitted up with a hand's worth of rings.
We are so lucky to have Shanahan. There is probably 30 teams that would trade positions right now in terms of coaching if they could. We have one of the truly special coaches calling the shots.

I never said he was ready. Just he will probably get thrown in. He's having a fantastic camp. Yes he needs to work on certain things (as do all rookies) but he's not showing any signs of an immediate bust. I think everyone around here is pretty happy with how well he's picking things up.

Not according to Fisher and Chow.
Also, there are rumors of Young hanging out with Pacman Jones a little too much (isn't any time with him too much?).
God forbid he hang with a teammate. If you're refering to that "party" in Atlanta last month, Vince was not involved. He never even went. That was a bad rumor. I also don't recall any negative news concerning the party. PacMan has been quite impressive considering his turbulant season last year. Now he could still blow up during a game but he's been a good little boy so far.

One of the reporters that cover the Titans said yes, that Vince was hanging out with Pac Man BUT said that was a good thing because Vince is of such strong character that Pac will benefit from being around Young.
I guess you could look at it either way. I smell NFL bust on both of them however.
Talk about drafting poorly. The Titans the last two years would be in much better shape had they used their first pick last year on Darrent Williams and their first round pick this year on Cutler.

Mort is making the rounds. He was also on Dan Patrick's show and basically said the same thing, but also said that Jake is having his best camp ever, and is also working to help Cutler get up to speed. It still must be hard for Plummer, knowing he's in a lame duck situation no matter what he does this year.
